I think the big difference maker for the value of your stem degree is wether you make an effort to get work experience. It's not really fair when people talk trash about how useless their degree was when they ignored every opportunity to apply for placements/internships
Mostly agree, I absolutely think internships, placements and grad schemes are super important but it's an unfair expectation to suggest every student should get one, given it's surplus to your degree and that uni's don't really prepare you for them. I think general career readiness and employability is something that should be taught alongside degrees, at bare minimum we should get CV and interview prep
@@jordanebert3313 yeah, you're right. There's deffo not enough information on employability early on, and there's not enough internships for every student to have one.
