Thank-you for sharing this video. I just stumbled upon it. We've been going to Mounds State Park in Anderson, Indiana for many, many years now. Not only just to hike trails, but to camp there. Over the years, we've probably camped there at least twice very year for at least a week (2 weekends) if not longer. It's relatively close to our home. Some things to know about the campground that has changed in the last couple years need to be mentioned. First, water is now available at one of the water spigots all winter long. New water spigots were installed within the last 3 or 4 years and they made one a frost free hydrant. That means water is available for winter camping. (which we've done too). The dump station is open, but no water available there in the winter months. The park has cracked down on several rules. Actually, rules that have been in place since ... well ... forever, just never enforce. For example: Battery operated transportation devices are not permitted anywhere on the campground park roads. That includes hover boards, motorized children's cars they ride in, and golf carts. And actually, this has been the rules all along. Golf carts are permitted ONLY in the campground, and ONLY if one is over 62 years of age and ONLY if one is disabled. (The rules are pretty clear, just never enforced). Actually, other state parks in Indiana are now enforcing the same rules. Another one is setting up portable dog fences. Their rational is, dogs must be leashed AT ALL TIMES. If they are in a kennel, they are not "leashed." And yes, they are enforcing it now. About the airport? That airport is nothing like a commercial airport, like Dallas-Fort Worth, or Chicago, or even Indianapolis. Most of the traffic coming through there are small commuter planes, and occasionally a small private jet. They have a few double winged crop dusters that use the runways and some vintage air craft that is hangered there. And it's NOT like a plane is taking off every 60 seconds. If 2 planes land or take off in an hour, that's a LOT. There is no water on each campsite. Water spigots are placed in common areas. I think there are 3 in the main area now, and 1 on the back side, along the airport porperty. If you care camped close enough, you can still run a garden hose, hook up to the spigot, and fill your tank, then unhook from the spigot so someone else can use it. Some state parks have moved their spigots to non-garden hose threaded spigots. There is a pit toilet there also. Hiking trails are very easy, especially if you are to hiking in the Applica Mountain areas, North Carolina, or Virginia mountains. These trails are no sweat, even the most rugged one there is still nothing compared to the big mountains. White River is NOT as "dirty" as folks think it is. That myth is long gone. And, just for the record ... there's not been any dead bodies shot of by the mafia floating in the river from Muncie all the way to Indianapolis since the late 1920's!
Plan to go camping there this year. Bonus, maybe my wife can pull the camper and I'll take our plane... We are only a couple hours away. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, you might want to keep it a secret, but what camper are you leaning towards for the next one? Love watching your videos, we have decided the Rockwood 2109s is the one we want. thanks.
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoy them! As of right now we would purchase another Mini Lite. We really love the line and like the 2511s. But it will be many tears before we purchase another one, so who knows Lol😃 You are going to love your new camper - Happy Camping!
We loved how well maintained the ground were and the trails are nicely kept. It's nice you live close enough to enjoy it for a day! Thanks so much for watching!
You call that airplane noise? I stayed at Holiday Trav-L-Park Of Virginia Beach Campground, and it is right next to Oceania Naval Air Station, F-18’s roaring around...loved it!
Lol - I bet your stay was much louder! It would have been cool to see and hear the F-18's, I have always been amazed by planes! Thanks so much for watching!
Nice video. We have been thinking of going to some Indiana SP. Thanks for the "review". But one thing, Indians are a baseball team. The people who made the mounds were Native Americans. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Saw you on Adventure Bandits and wanted to check you out. Thanks so much for sharing this video as we have really been doing our research on the RV lifestyle. Looks like y'all had a lot of fun.
Sheila Ray thanks so much for checking us out. Hope you enjoy Rving as much as we do. Thanks again for watching and safe travels. Go have some fun out there😁😁
Cool video, Corey and Christy. Like seeing the mounds. Interesting that they were used for astronomical observations and calendars. Cool you got to see the launch, too. Nice campground and good sized campsites. Like the location next to the airport. Thanks for the tour. Happy Birthday, Corey!
Great to see you camping again. Looks like a nice state park. Cool to see the mounds. Been to the Serpent Mounds in southern Ohio years ago. Neat that you camped next to the airport and could see the planes taking off. We enjoy seeing that here at home. Zoey sure enjoyed the sunshine, too. Great video.
We haven't been to the Serpent Mound since elementry school. Watching the planes from our campsite was really neat. Yes, Zoey loves the sunshine 😊 Thanks for watching and stay healthy!
Always love a lot of trails! Very nice trail. Nice to see the bumblebees! Park looks to be very well maintained. That is really interesting about those mounds.... Nice - looking forward to the next video!
Thank you so much for watching!! We were on site 65, our favorite site are 60 through 68. These sites are in the back of the campground right along the airport. We are thinking of going to Charlestown, Versailes and the campgrounds at Brookville Lake. Have a great camping season!!
@@TravelingBuckeyes beautiful part of Anderson! Before they took away the auto manufacturing(Delco, fisher body), it was a thriving town; but it's become horrid(IMHO), that's why I moved away and came to Minnesota. Love you sharing your travels. I'm going to be a vehicle dweller beginning in April and love following travelers like yourself. Be safe my friends.
We enjoy your videos. Stay safe out there.
Bill Souders thanks for watching. Hope you have a great weekend.

We also like parks with nice trails. Enjoyed watching the bumblebees and other insects dancing from bloom to bloom. Thanks for watching!
Although we are not crazy about it's location next to an airfield, that still looks like a very nice state park! Thanks for sharing!
Lol, the airfied really isn't very noisy. Thanks so much for watching!
Great video! Glad to see you traveling again. Good job on editing and production.
David thank you so much for your support.

I love your picnic table cover! “OH- “. !
I-O GO Bucks! Thank you for watching!
Been following your videos for a while. We live close to indy, never been to mounds. What site did you have? Where are you coming in Indiana in 2021?

Nice job on the video. How far is that park from your home? Ps. Looks like you had a good time with Robert at the meet up.
It's just a little under 2 hrs. We had a blast meeting Robert, and everyone that attended. Thanks for watching!
I'm from Anderson, and I will say that Mounds State Park is probably the ONLY nice thing in Anderson. White river, not so white. Pretty nasty really.
Lol! We spent most of the time at the State Park, good to know we didn't miss much in Anderson. Thanks so much for watching!
