Am 58 retiring next year but the thought of retirement gives me weakness. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. It’s so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings or loved ones to fall back on.

Even if you’re not skilled, it is still possible to hire one. I was a project manager and my personal portfolio of approximately $850k of my retirement pension took a big hit in April due to the crash. I quickly got in touch with a financial-planner that devised a defensive strategy to protect my funds and make profit from my portfolio this red season. I’ve made over $250k since then.

As an investing enthusiast, I've kept aside a good sum of capital to invest for financial independence and early retirement, but my concern right now is the market rally being propaganda. Is this a good time to buy stocks, or do I wait for the crash?

It's estimated that Americans will need more than $1 million to retire comfortably, but I found most of us aren’t bullish about meeting that goal. I’ve been sitting on over $750K equity from a home sale and I want to invest on the stock market, how do I achieve this?

American workers are losing ground on retirement readiness and increasing the risk of outliving their assets, we all need to do more to help improve the savings and retirement security. If you're not who understands strategies to invest in the market, seek a Financial advisor to guide you.

The market hasn't been good this year, but it is important you find stocks with market-beating yields and shares that at least keep pace with the market long term. For a successful long-term strategy you have to seek guidance from a broker or financial advisor.

It is so crazy to see many older people still having to work just to buy food, pay rent and majorly to meet their basic needs.. Dont want that to be me! I've come to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments. I purchased my first home at the age of 21 for $87,000 and sold it for $197,000. My second home, acquired for $170,000, was later sold for $320,000, and my third property, purchased at $300,000, fetched $589,000, with buyers covering all closing costs and expenses. Not reaching a million before retirement feels like an unfulfilled goal.-

What you don't realize and I know because I retired at 28 (as a multi-millionaire) and I am 41 now, is that eventually you get bored and want to work again. I have been to 59 countries, been back to 20% of them multiple times, did everything I wanted.. Now I am just bored, looking to work to feel needed, not for the money, that people will call me, that I am adding value to people that I feel part of something.. You have been retired for a short time.. but you will see..

People grappling with the difficulty of meeting essential expenses often encounter this situation due to inadequate savings during their working years. The decisions taken in readiness for retirement carry extensive consequences, as demonstrated within my own family dynamics. Differing investment approaches yielded disparate results. Guided by a financial advisor, I'm currently retired.

    • @james.atkins88
      @james.atkins88 8 місяців тому +2

Indeed, that's accurate. I'm currently in my mid-50s. My wife and I were on a similar path until a couple of years ago when I decided to shift my investments to her wealth manager. While I haven't quite caught up to her accumulated profits over the years, I'm at least earning more now. I'm generating income even before retirement, and my retirement fund has experienced remarkable growth compared to what it would have with just the 401(k). It's quite amusing.

It's regrettable that many individuals lack access to such insights. I understand why people might become anxious. Insufficient information can indeed pose significant challenges. Personally, I've been able to generate over $25k passively simply by investing through an advisor, and the best part is, I don't need to exert much effort. Regardless of economic fluctuations, skilled wealth managers consistently deliver returns.

Knizia, the board game designer, retired from his banking job at 30. He devoted himself to games that bring blissful times to families, and to friendships. It's not very different to programming, including a lot of math, but much more satisfying.

Old lady retired; best vacation recently was floating in a Key West oceanfront pool, watching the sky while fighter jets came back to base and sea planes toured the Keys. Finished evening with an exquisite seafood dinner with family. Thank you for the Santorini views!

Thanks, I needed this. I've been 3 years into early retirement, now 38 years old. I wish I could travel like techlead, but my wife and I have a young son, and another one's on the way.
I was a little depressed lately because my self esteem has taken a hit for being a stay at home parent for this long. I was contemplating getting back to the software industry again, because with very young kids, there's no opportunity to travel, and outside of recreational hobbies, I don't have other serious interests. So getting back to software is my only option. But thanks to this video, I'll hold off on that for a while.

As a humble intj myself, I can see techlead going completely insane in this one. No worries, he'll get back to his normal self as soon as he hits yet another realization about how society and this world works, which will give him a sense of hope that there's still something left to live for in this life. Or maybe it's already too late :)

I'm a german father and my son has a friend (11 years) in his class that seems to be a bit like you (in the past) - asian parents, no time for friends, just learning (working) day in and out, also on weekends . That friend is not only the best in class but in school, learning math stuff already from his older brother, also winning math competitions - very efficient, very productive. But one day, I think, he will be just as frustrated as you - having enough money to retire early BUT ...................... missing life that never comes back - friendships, family life, hobbies, parties, travelling, video games with friends, sports teams, girls, nature & sun, .... - a meaningful life to enjoy.

I agree with all of this. I retired five years early. I do not have as much to spend as you but I do not get much pleasure out of spending anyway. But spending my day riding my bike, exploring my city, watching astronomy lectures on UA-cam at night, these things are free and make me happy. You do not need much money if you do not spend much. If I were married, I'd be spending all my money on short term things like vacations. I like investing in myself and being cheap, that makes me happy. My main vice is going out to eat but I can afford it.

Great advice. 50yrs old, block of land in the country, work (help out friends) a day or two a week if I feel like it, one of my favourite tasks is collecting manure for the garden. Just me and the land collecting gold for the future. Simple. But, without the land I would have to run on that hamster wheel, rent is a killer.
