Tbh, i like how they're spreading some silly episodes right after the more action packed ones.
It was this variety of episode types that Trek needed since Enterprise, It was part of what made classic Trek special.
This looks metal.
Doc M'Benga does love his funny hats.

I like how they are building these characters up so much, that you can pull a story idea from there own personal drama or issues.
There not just randomly flying into a weird cosplay anomaly.

Lol! This whole show is harkening back to some of the silly alien stories from TOS, and I might add, the first two seasons of TNG. But this is what the fans seem to want to like.
@@michaelwallace2487 I fucking love it. There's a place for the more serious stuff the other shows do, even if it's not my favorite, but it's really a breath of fresh air to have a bright, optimistic sci-fi show that can swing every which way tonally and pull it off.

this episode seems to be acknowledging old old fans, or children that grew up watching TOS.
One could even call this episode a love letter to the fans old and new; everyone matters, all matters need attention represented.
But we’ll let the audience do their own thinking, while still giving adults a happily ever after.
Well, this episode should please those viewer's who can't get past Pike's hair.
His hair in this episode reminds me of Jeffrey Tambor's hair in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (2000)

God I love how each episode touches on tropes of past series episodes in a new way. Well done too. I know there are minor issues with things in this series but it is so well done I love it. Never thought I'd say that about new trek. Especially after that fucking mess Picard turned into
Picard turned into such a mess for Season 2 that i couldnt watch it.
@@mk17173n Sadly you are right and it forgot the premise why Picard was created in the first place.
@Tejesh Patel Season 1 was alright but definitely Season 2 went off the rails sadly. I thought the premise initially for Season 1 was fine, particularly during the teaser trailer when we find out shocking that Picard had left Starfleet and the idea was to rebuild and regain what he had lost in a sense. For Season 2 had they kept hte focus on the Borg or hell even adopt elements of the novel series Star Trek Destiny...yeah Season 2 definitely went off the rails.

@@aptaylor75 No. They never officially retconned any connection between Trelaine, his parents and the Q, continuim.
I would love to see trelane. But maybe he or she looks different. That way it won't step on that original star trek episode.
What I don't like is a new star trek show or any show retconing something to seem "FIRST".
You see Michael Burnham and the Discovery was " FIRST" to discover the mirror universe , not Kirk and the Enterprise.

OMG just when you thought ‘day of our lives’ Star Trek couldn’t possibly get any worse, it got worse. Had to switch off at the transformation to the fairytale world. Who writes this bubblegum crap. You FAN BOIS have to stand up for yourselves and say NO right now. Otherwise it’s mindless bubblegum for the rest of your life. Grit boys, grit, is what makes for entertaining trek, otherwise you may as well watch ‘days of our lives’ and draw spaceships in crayon around the edge of your tv.

I think it looks creative. And the tone of the show lately has been half light hearted. I think it is not a stretch for them to do this episode and people will accept it
