If we don’t drink all the coffee in a day, I take the cold leftover coffee and pour it on my citrus trees too. I’ve been doing that all winter here in Savannah and my trees are all full of blooms or starting to bloom. I had always crushed up my eggshells before, but your way is much easier. I’m going to start doing that! I love it that you call us “family,” Mr. Lead! That makes my heart feel good. I love you and your videos, Lead family! Thank you for sharing your knowledge about organic farming!

Lead, I’m SO overwhelmed, we live in Edenton NC zone 8a, we have our seeds, soil and containers, saved coffee grounds and egg shells. BUT.. all the talk of seed starting soil, greenhouse, grow tents, heat mats 😳 I’m not a seasoned gardener and I’m almost afraid to start ANYTHING. My husband says, “Daddy just put seeds in the dirt”. 🤷🏼‍♀️ thank you for making it a little more simple. 👒👩‍🌾

If you don't drink coffee or you need more grounds just buy big cans of the cheap stuff. Plants don't care if it's from Starbucks😄 Bring a big pot of water to a boil and add the coffee, turn it off and let it sit for a bit. I'd prob use twice as much water as coffee though I'm sure you could use more water if you wanted. Then you can drain it and use the grounds for the garden after they cool and the coffee can be used for liquid fertilizer mixes. We drink a ton of coffee so I'm pretty sure my compost pile is like 75% coffee grounds lmao

I have one filled with CALCIUM drink, water and eggshells. Another one with potassium drink, water and banana peels, and others for various nutrients. Orange peels, mango skins, Epsom salt, ashes,etc....You can have a good drink for any flavor your plant needs. (Insert mad scientist gardener laughter here)👨‍🔬

I’ve been following you for a few months now and love your channel as I grew up on a large farm where my parents grew everything we ate...even ground the cane and made the syrup that would take all day. I ordered a small Meyer Lemon tree....not dwarf though I later found out...in November. It was about 12 inches high with one limb . It came with a two blooms in which I hand pollenated and a lemon formed-brought it in from the below 50 degrees temperatures
The leaves at the top are drying up and falling off and the little lemon has turned yellow. I tried misting with bottled water I will try feeding it to save it. I gave it only a little organic citrus fertilizer when I potted it. Thank you for your help.

For the Egg Shells , i would actually recommend to convert them into calcium carbonate, just bake them in the oven until they become brown, then you can process them into a fine powder, then mix this powder with vinegar and wait 10 days, until it all disolves, then you will have calcium acetate, if you dry this in the oven, youll get crystaliaztion of the calcium acetate, wich you can give you your plants, and that way it is calcium soluble in water.

Fresh coffee grounds would be acidic. It's better to use used coffee grounds. They are more neutral on the ph scale. I have some citrus fertilizer spikes. Yesterday I ground one up into a fine powder and sprinkled some of it into the top of the pot before I watered it. I put all my grounds, egg shells, etc. Into my compost pile. When it's done I screen it through a piece of stucco screen/wire I nailed to a wood frame. A paper shredder is a big help for making compost. I never use bleached paper. Only brown bags and cardboard.
