LOL this was fun! I literally don't think there is a such thing as a basic fragrance. It's all subjective. Nothing is definite. Ever! Fragrance is like art. Not even Bath & Body Works fragrances and mists are basic. YEA I SAID IT lol

I love your take on this! I think people have a tendency to call anything that lots of women love basic, and to me it feels like misogyny. If lots of women like a drink, a shoe type, an accessory, a style of clothing, a perfume...suddenly liking it is called basic if enough women like it. It just feels like a way to put down women for being into things that are popularly feminine and I’m glad you’re not part of the crowd doing that. Women supporting women!

Coco mademoiselle is that girl,she can never be basic. I have never smelled that fragrance on a basic woman,always put together and one who grabs attention where she walks. Basic is a state of kind indeed

Basic is a state of mind. My husband's favorite fragrance of all time on me is a $4 Avon vanilla body spray layered with Palmers Cocoa Butter lotion. Reminds him of when we met. I have fragrances which costs hundreds of dollars but it's the $4 one which gets all the love. Light Blue is my all time favorite fragrance. I used up 4 bottles last year alone😐

I have Bright Crystal Absolu and Yellow Diamond in my fragrance wardrobe and they are far from basic in my opinion. And Black Opium is definitely popular, I see why some would consider it basic but it’s a great sweet scent to mix with spicy and more masculine scents to give it a more femme vibe.
Here we go again with the controversial "basic fragrances" 🤣😂 There's a time and place for everything. I admit to loving and having these "basic" fragrances in my collection and I LOVE them‼️‼️

I also really hate when they call la vie est Belle "basic" and they're like "ohmagad dont be basic" but the perfume is absolutely gorgeous and one of a kind and everyone would ask u what you're wearing if u have it on! This trend of defining ur uniqueness in the fragrance u wear should be stopped 🤣🤦🏻♀️

I like this video. Perfume snobs have to realize the average person may not want to or may not be able to spend $100+ on a bottle of perfume. My finances got better this year and I was able to take the jump and get several bottles of 100+ perfumes that's I've been wanting. Spending that amount of money for perfumes is never basic to me. Basic is $9.99 perfumes at Burlington/Ross/celebrity scents. One can never be basic when your perfume is over $100 🤣

I didn’t know that a “basic fragrance” was a thing. 😂 I agree there is a place and a time for every fragrance. When I was a teenager I used a lot of Paris Hilton perfumes and Juicy Couture in my early twenties. Now I’m 32 and I became a Chanel girl. I’m in love with Coco Mademoiselle and I don’t care how many people wear it or have it in their collection. It’s really doesn’t matter for me. I wear it for me because I love it. I wear it for me ❤
I cannot believe that Decadence was classified as basic. It is quite unique.
I however like your redesign of the topic to indicate there is a time and place for each of these fragrances.

I was out and about one weekend, and I sprayed Brittney Spears Fantasy because I wanted to finish the bottle...and I received so many compliments.
That's one of my favorites 💕 from back in the day.... I still own a small bottle... It's a classic for me
Loved the video. Jeremy fragrance got me started on my perfume journey with those basics and your right there is a time and place for them. I now have a massive collection but I’ve never forgotten where it all started and it’s those basics you mentioned.

I agree with your point of view Cheraye - I have and love Decadence, Gold Couture, Black Opium (I have the neon one but I like all of them), and I think it's sad that sometimes people are perturbed from buying a perfume they like because they develop a bad reputation such as La Vie Est Belle for instance. if you love it you wear it! The Pink Sugar, I know a very beautiful and affluent woman (she's a specialist of internal medicine near where I work) and she wears and ROCKS Pink Sugar, it's her signature scent and evertime I smell it and think wow she makes that smell incredible, and that's what we all do - we wear a perfume in our own way. I say all the power to anyone who wants to wear these "basic" fragrances :).

I love yellow Diamond, when I’m running errands I always wear it that or Idole but I get so many compliments from yellow Diamond.

Thank you for your video. Some perfume reviewers like to bash popular fragrances. Also, it seems that once people start getting into niche fragrances, they start bashing celebrity and designer fragrances. Not everyone can afford to buy niche fragrances.
Buy and spray what makes you happy, I have fragrances that smell amazing and they're under $30 say less... 🙋🏾📣

I'm not into Black Opium, Coco Mademoiselle, Decadence or Pink Sugar but I wouldn't consider them as basic just not my vibe. Most of these so called "Basics" in this line up are my daily go to especially Light Blue. Luckily I take these labels as a jokes because everyone is entitled to their opinions. TFS💕
