Dapat nagawaran na yan ng National Artist Award dito sa Pilipinas...long overdue na yan...Kng si Nora Aunor matagal nang nabigyan ng ganyang parangal, si Pilita ilang decades na na nagbigay ng honor sa bansa. Since 1950's pa noong sumikat siya sa Australia as a singer, may Street pa nga doon sa Australia na Pilita Street ang pangalan dahil sa kasikatan niya doon. At then may international contest na tinalo pa nga niya si Olivia Newton John lang naman. This video was taken in 1990's pa and who would believe ngayon is 2024 na...she is still around, naging front act siya ng Beatles at nagperform din siya with other famous singers in the U.S. At siya lang talaga nagpapatuloy sa ating Spanish legacy...nobody can sing naturally any spanish song kasi nakapagsalita naman Spanish.
I've heard Pilita live in Cebu City's Shangrila Hotel way back 2008 with Dulce and Rakki Vega. I had goosebumps at the sound of her first note to the end. My God! I also heard Regine sing live in SM Cebu. But I have to say Pilita is still The Voice.
How I wish na meron tayong Annual event dito sa Pilipinas na "Divas Live" wherein Filipina Divas like Ms. Pilita, Dulce, Celeste Legaspi, down to the youngest generation will perform. Just to show the world how talented our artists are from the oldest generation down to the youngest ones.

Another one of my favorite among the best of the best. Ms. Pilita, a legend, an icon, a linguist, an amazing singer/artist. Hoping and praying that she will be given an award and special tribute for her outstanding contributions to music. I love Pilita and Mr. Ryan Cayabyab. Thank you for sharing.
In the 60 s she performed at Selecta Manila Philippines Friday one of the best years of my life listening to her and learning her songs,,,,,am now 83 and love to look back those part of my lifeThank you for the memories GOD BLESS YOUXXXXGIE❤
