You've got it wrong. Floch, when saying they lied, was talking about the ability to choose who and what they might die for. Floch rightfully sees that Erwin would have been the more noble choice for humanity. Although it made dramatic sense for Levi to revive Armin (it was too obvious story-wise), Hange is above in command compared with Levi, who is making an emotional decision based on his love and respect for Erwin, not humanity. Hange would have chosen Erwin.
It's a fine line, we are not sure they ever said they would get to choose who and what they might die for. In the end, the choice got taken. Levi, not Hange, had received that authority in EP 12 by Erwin himself. The creator obviously saved the principal character, but is good that they did so against such another important character. It makes the story a lot more complex, more interesting to watch and to theorize about 🤔
So in other words, Armin shouldn’t be alive. Who cares? The choice has been made. There’s NO sense in arguing about it. Yes Erwin was a great commander, but Armin can be a great commander too. That’s my take
@@CosmicWolf3100 what matters is understanding Floch's character and the argument he's making. We should try to understand the perspective of every character in this story

19:51 Well, we saw bertholdt transform before without an explosion in 1x5 and 2x6. And we recently saw him transform and evaporate everything with a big explosion. My guess would be that you can control it to the point we’re there’s no explosion at all or make it as big as you want through practice. Hopefully Armin can control it as easily as Bertholdt or else he might end up killing our squad 😄
There's a small detail about the titans that isn't important, but it's cool. In the appearance of the Titans to which the shifters are related by blood, for example Krugger's Attack Titan (Owl) doesn't have the pointy ears like Eren's, but Zeke's Beast and Grisha's Titan DO have pointy ears, The Jaeger Family xD

True, but by joining the survey corps they knew that it was a matter of time until they were sent on a mission and never return. They were warned that they were most likely going to die. It's hard to take it in because no one wants to die in the end
Floch is right, I know that many already hate him in this scene but geez, having the courage to have your say is not for everyone, letting everything go well and complaining behind your back is too easy while he made the man and was directed, simply saying the facts as they are, Armin was chosen because Levi and company made an irrational decision giving in to feelings by putting friendship before the good of humanity, Floch even knowing he is expendable flesh has the right to express his opinion because he is a human being, militarily speaking Erwin was the right choice because in war one does not save a random soldier but the commander. Floch has seen all his friends die and comes to discover that on the other side of the walls the serious is monopolizing among friends instead of saving the only one who could truly save humanity since he is the demon that the island needs. It takes guts to have your say in that way by unloading hatred on you but it doesn't matter because before giving your life you need to know exactly who you are really sacrificing for and if it's really worth it. Many will say that he was a coward but in reality being afraid of dying and having second thoughts is totally normal indeed all too human and despite this the great words of Erwin convinced him to sacrifice himself anyway . This monologue of his is one of my favorites
That's also true. Maybe it wasn't the place to do so, but we don't think he got the chance to speak to them before so he just exploded. We don't think he is a coward. We believe he must feel angry and impotent, because in the end the decision was Levi's, no one else's, by authority given by Erwin and the higher-ups, and there was nothing he could do then or now to change that. Floch needed to blow off some steam. It's really sad because Armin agrees with him as well, so when he was talking to Armin, it's not like he had to say what he did to change his mind, but just to express what he was thinking so it's sad for him as well 😞 not to say he was the one dragging Erwin to the city after almost dying himself. That must have been so disappointing.
i love floch. *spoilers*( kinda...i guess so. ) he have survivors guilt . to me he is the true succesor of erwin smith.and boy was he right we really did ended up with a devil fighing for the island.
@11:43 ......the moment Eren kissed Historia's hand and those memories flashed through his mind... remember this moment. It changes EVERYTHING. *REMEMBER THIS MOMENT.* 😳
Eren has touched Historia before, and he knows it not the same feeling/connection he felt when he touched Dina's titan form; he mentioned on the previous episode how only then (when touching the Smiling Titan) all seemed to connect. He DOES need a TITAN of ROYAL BLOOD. This is a VERY important key point of Season 4; and you shouldn't missunderstand it or asume otherwise. When touching Historia, Eren only gets better access to the memories already inside of him, because of her lineage. But she isn't a titan (shifter or mindles), so they can't use her to "trick" the Founder's Power into thinking its being used by a Royal Blooded Titan. As for Floch talking about them lying... He is not talking about them not talking about the high risk of dying.... Then again, we didn't see the recruitment for these "emergency recruits", maybe in their need for new scouts (after soooo many died) they weren't as forward as they have been other times about how risky all is. In fact, you girls may be thinking about the speech given by Erwin after the battle of Trost (when the 104th cadets decided to join), but that one (as mentioned by Mike I believe?) was particularly harsh and made it on purpose to scare the recruits away... because Erwin was already trimming numbers to try to find the spies among them. Anyway... Floch is refering to the fact that they were lied about what they were dedicating their hearts to... They were (probably) told to come to sacrifice their lives for what's best for humanity... But that was saving Erwin, not Armin. They weren't told "come sacrifice your life so the guys in charge can make selfless decisions about what's best for their friends". What broke Floch beyond repair wasn't the suicide charge; was that the guys in charge decided to save a "nobody" instead of the Commander of the Scouts because of their own feelings, without prioritizing what was best for humanity as a whole. Levi wanted to let his friend rest and Eren and Mikasa wanted their friend to live... Combine that with survivor's guilt, and the fact that Floch probably asumed the only reason he was spared was so that he could bring back Erwin... yeah. The guy has a point.
Thank you for the explanation! You explained it very well. We do feel bad for Floch because it can't be easy to go through all of that and at the same time we understand Eren, Mikasa and Levi's intentions because we are as attached to Armin as they are. And it's also harsh for Armin to be told that when he already thinks he shouldn't be alive. But now we understand Floch's anger better, thank you!
Interesting how you say the ending has optimism in it, I can't really see it. When they reached the sea, that was it, they're at their limit, the sea is just another wall and on the other side of it, there is a even more dangerous enemy than the titans.
Just enough optimism, they did reach a goal that was almost impossible for so long. You can't help to feel happy for them when they see the water. They are getting closer to solving their situation than ever. 😊 Whether if that happens or not in the future isn't in question right now. The ending shows that there are still a lot of problems to solve, which is a good thing. If it didn't, season 4 would feel out of place 🤔 We understand where you come from though, it's like the goal they had set for so long is a pebble next to a mountain, but any accomplishment should be celebrated ☺️
Floch is not wrong in a way, and I think the loss of Erwin is a terrible blow. But it is not right to say that to Armin himself. He loves a girl but never told her because he knew he had to fight for humanity.then the girl married his best friend nile.
Floch was way out line. Does absolutely nothing & hid like a coward then complains about people not helping. He certainly didn’t do anything to help at all
@@CosmicWolf3100 "does nothing?" Lmao he still went and did the suicide charge. Lowering head didn't impact to the efficiency of the mission. +After that he carried Erwin to Levi. (Only to see Levi letting Erwin die.)
@@wb6012 yeah. But he also blamed everyone else instead of Levi. Levi gave Armin the injection, not everyone else. Yet Floch rants & raves about it instead of blaming Levi for the decision, like what? He blamed Armin who wasn’t even awake to object, like, what a moron. He was being an immature child imo
@@CosmicWolf3100 an immature child does not have the attributes to say what Floch had the courage to say to everyone's face, indeed many would have pretended to accept the choice and maybe they would have gossiped behind while he was direct and true compared to a false person , Levi heard everything because he was nearby, Floch is angry with the others because they did nothing to stop mikasa and Eren from behaving like that. He does not share Levi's choice but respects his opinion given that he is his superior and also in episode 3x18 he expressed his doubts about Levi's choice by asking why he did not save Erwin. This action and courage of Floch in wanting to have his say while knowing that he does not count for anything is very admirable makes us understand that we must have the courage to have our say if we do not agree even if we consider ourselves to be of a lower degree than ours. he understood or like the last wheel of the wagon, staying silent and pretending that everything is okay is never the right thing to do, and he had the guts to do this even though he knew he got the general hatred and even knew that it was simple expendable meat so only respect

@@NerdishReact well, currently there is an arc being animated and im told by my manga reader friend that based on where its going, itll be the last arc of the series. my guess is itll air early 2023. i know once youre done with whats left of the show youll want to know the rest but it might be worth it to wait. the animation, the voice acting, the music just makes aot. i started back in 2013 with this show and somehow havent read the manga even after the 4 year hiatus but id say it was worth the wait. i just cant imagine the manga coming close to capturing the experience of watching it in motion like with the anime. thats my two cents. 😁

Eldians are not the same as Subjects of Ymir. All people inside the wall are Eldians, but not all of them are Subjects of Ymir. Some Noble families in the government are not Subjects of Ymir, so their memories can't be altered. Those families included Ackerman and Oriental clan. :)
@@JuanSolo9 A person is a Subject of Ymir if one or two of his/her parents is a Subject of Ymir. We shouldn't continue to discuss about this topic. It may contain spoiler.
@@NerdishReact I think Juan Solo is right -- the Ackermann and "Oriental" clans are Subjects of Ymir as well, they just have special abilities. We will later see something specific to Subjects of Ymir that also includes Mikasa (and I think Levi too, not sure).
It will be helpful to remember that several months -- maybe close to a full year -- passes in this episode between the coronation ceremony and the expedition to the sea (note that they say that a winter comes and goes). And also helpful to remember that the area inside the walls is about the size of Texas and there are many sparsely occupied areas, so I imagine they probably had Armin practice transforming during that time, somewhere safely out in the country. Also, you mention not wanting it to end. Well, we don't know exactly when the final episodes will be released, only that it's sometime next year. But there are 28 episodes released to Season 4 so far, and 7 months to go until 2023, so maybe if you watch 4 episodes a month (about 1 a week) you'll finish up at the end of 2022 and you won't have long to wait for the final episodes? :)

@@CosmicWolf3100 Its not as heroic as dying yes, but it doesnt change the fact that he had an intention of dying for humanity. Its like a policeman taking a bullet for a child but not dying, does that negate the heroic act he CHOSE to commit?
@@TheSteiner12 we just have different view points on Floch. I’m explaining why i don’t like him because imo he’s a hypocrite
Hi from Brazil!! Oh my God guys you cant handle what ia coming
Hi from Argentina!
We are so excited for what's coming!!
Floch was always right.erwin deserves it more than armin.everyone realize it in season 4.they need a devill to kill the devil.erwin is the only main character who didn’t get anything in this show.
@@LoneWolf-xq4bs sounds like something a Floch supporter would say

@@NerdishReact Argentina? wtf pense que su idioma nativo era ingles jaja ya tienen un fan acá!
i remember watching this like 2-3 years ago, and being a non-manga reader just wondering "what did eren see when historia touched him? what could it have been?" it was something that obviously broke him but we just didnt know why
We are non-manga readers but this anime might change that lol
@@NerdishReact well, currently there is an arc being animated and im told by my manga reader friend that based on where its going, itll be the last arc of the series. my guess is itll air early 2023. i know once youre done with whats left of the show youll want to know the rest but it might be worth it to wait.
the animation, the voice acting, the music just makes aot. i started back in 2013 with this show and somehow havent read the manga even after the 4 year hiatus but id say it was worth the wait. i just cant imagine the manga coming close to capturing the experience of watching it in motion like with the anime.
thats my two cents. 😁
We are going to react to what's left of the anime and until the rest comes out we will be reacting to other shows. If we read the manga it will probably be after finishing the anime, so that we don't get spoiled 😬
@@NerdishReact ah ok, good good. i know ill do the same to see the differences. that'd be fun.
I love your reactions ❤️
Thank you so much! We are so happy to know that! 😊
This episode one more time breaks my heart
When you see part 2 final season You will understand me
We are so excited to see this on a different light in the future ☺️
Eldians are not the same as Subjects of Ymir. All people inside the wall are Eldians, but not all of them are Subjects of Ymir. Some Noble families in the government are not Subjects of Ymir, so their memories can't be altered. Those families included Ackerman and Oriental clan. :)
Good to know! Thanks for the explanation! ☺️😁 It makes sense
The Ackermans are Subjects of Ymir, but they're immune to the Founding Titan's memory-wipe ability.
We will later see something specific to Subjects of Ymir that also includes Mikasa (and I think Levi too, not sure).
orientals are a different race, not subjects of ymir
That was the last time we see the Eren we knew
True, we are sure Hange would love to experiment with and experience the Colossal's powers.
We don't mind the wait between seasons. Besides, if we finish what's out of AOT, we will be able to react to more shows in between until the other part of the season comes out ☺️😁
la primera vez que vi este final me dio tristeza saber que Eren había cmabiado
Todos se ven más adultos, pero además, pareciera que la mirada de Eren está vacía 😞
React on Season 4 part1 trailer first
Not.
Don't. No need
