Okay so....Tennessee State just constantly makes me feel like there are a few gears that they still haven't released but can. But that doesn't do much for you in a battle. I want to see them unleash. I still feel like they're holding back.
Tsu. 1. Good Material 2. Different snare and stick heights 🤔 3. Basses were bringing heat 🔥🔥 4. Down Right tenors brought heat 🔥🔥 5. Quints brought heat as well, but should work on being relaxed and remember to breathe while playing 6. Execution from 1 to 10 was a 7.. Could have been better. 7. Chewing gum is never cool....idc what generation it is Talladega 1. Snares (in comparison to TSU) are uniform overall. 2. Basses had heat, but wild swinging still isn't going to work. 3. TC, invest in a quint section lol. Y'all cadences will slap. 6. Execution was an 8 Overall, it was good battle. Both schools should remember, ITS THE LIL SHIT that counts
Lol nah bro our Materiel wouldn’t be what it is if we had them junts 💯 it leave a lot more room to put more complex material without quints tryna break that same part down over 5 drums if that makes sense
Review: TC Snates- 9 very good. Very uniform. Movements and stick heights together. Basses- 8.5 very good. Solid in the back with not much attention but they hold the pocket. Cymbals- 8.5 Good playing, uniformity, energy. I like it. I gave a 9 but the more I listened the more I heard mistakes with the interplay. Got to master your material. Tenors- 8.5 Good playing Balance- 8.0 Difficulty of material-8.0 Overall score- 50.5/60 TSU- Snares- 9.1 but for a different reason. TC got a 9 for uniformity and groove. TSU got a 9 because of technicality. I gave 0.1 because I value playing over visuals. Basses- 8 Solid. I'd like to see more groove and movement Cymbals- 7.8 Just something about their presentation doesn't let me go all the way to an 8. It feels lackluster. Tenors- 8.3- Solid and disciplined. Doesn't make the hairs on my head stand up but not low enough to say a bad section. Quads- 7.9. I hate to say it but they feel very "meh." A School like TSU I feel like I should be getting more out of them. Balance- 8.0 Difficulty of material 8.5 Overall score- 57.1/70 Final verdict- TC (84%) TSU (82%) Winner TCU This PERFECTLY describes how I feel about the battle. I feel like TSU should have won because they have more of what I look for (technicality) but they also are missing out on a few "I don't know what's" that put them above the majority. When I watch them I'm ready to be wowed and when I finish I feel underwhelmed. I really hope to see them go over that hump. Great battle to both lines!
Yes, I enjoy drum battles. This was a good one. I'm probably the only one who still likes leg tenors, lol. I kinda wish this battle was outside tho to get rid of of gym echo. Thanks for posting this.
Section leader couldn’t stand in one place & kick stuff off 🤷🏾♂️ everybody know you the man I’m js but good battle fr TSU came with some heat but RR all day #NSNT #SILH
Tsu ate dim boyz alive. Dega need a betta cadences they 2 short. Dey had 1 that was so dope wen they turned 2 da side, soon u start 2 feel it. Da end I'm like dam dega while Tsu grooving on dey ass. Can't lie I thought dega was fina eat dim boys but Tsu ate dey ass. #Easy
@@blablablasquadrandomconver8006 what does the other side material have to do w what the other is messing up on? Sounds like an excuse. TC was uniform but I thought they was gonna bring it a bit harder than they did. But you can play amazing material which tsu was tbh, but it don’t hit the same if everyone doing different shit, that’s half the battle right there.
If you talking cadences & sound then TSU won. I'm kinda shocked DeGa didn't come stronger with cadences, they usually on point. But discipline DeGa had that & better uniformity. I agree with everyone I hate the Crats snare that was chewing gum. And I saw 1 or 2 mistakes from them individually not the whole section. But overall dem drummers from AoB got this one. 🔴🔵🔴🔵🎩
This battle was close. Just got through grading it. I had Tennessee state with an edge. Mostly based on there cadences had better placement and features. Talladega had more groove and pop but Tennessee state had better features and discipline. Talladega just based on they style could use some quints to buffer out some percussion melody underlayment. Tennessee state only minor issue I see is snare stick height, and letting the quints and Z’s pop off. The bass and tenor conversation is nice 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 a very good battle!
Although I agree with you about tsu having better placement not features tho talladega material is just better as a percussionist I think tsu style is somewhat basic like appealing but very entry level talladega is more complex lot more tempo changes and very good use of rudiments and their placement and being from Memphis we have a few high schools literally almost on the same level as tsu if not can play and produce the material the exact same way more than half of the line is freshmen ik a few, I agree it was a close battle but I give it to talladega
Tennessee has no discipline the leader walking out to call stuff and the other snare drummer on the end chewing gum and they don’t know when to all make a mean face some making them some not they just need to work on they looks and how to approach stuff for real

Don’t mean any harm, but if you ain’t locked up with a drum, or on the media team, GET OUT THE WAY ! Smh. This ain’t homecoming.
Talladega done battled everybody but PV. When we gon see that?
It’s was the inconsistencies that killed TSU
Where?
