This is gorgeous! I'm doing this with all of the boquets that my boyfriend has given. I've been drying and preserving flowers from each bouquet to surprise him.
absolutely stunning I have a client that wants me to do one, she gave me dried roses that she had for weeks im placed them in the oven just to make sure they are dried a little more. first time doing one of these.
I just came across your videos! I was needing some help getting the tie dye look with alcohol. Now I’m going through and looking at some more. I’m really enjoying them! Thank you! I appreciate your help!
Hi-! Thank you for the video, I have a question, almost at the end before taking the paint tape off, what is the liquid drop around the edge you added on top of the blue tape before using your heat gun?
Thank you for your question! We used approx. 35-40 ounces of resin for this project. Be sure to pour the resin in several layers and let cure, not all at once. This helps ensure you get a full cure and the final result turns out beautifully. 🙂
Amazing video! So from what I understand, i CAN'T put fresh flowers in resin ? I have to dry them first ? Or do a "tub of silica gel" ?? I'm trying to preserve flowers from my dad funeral so I really want to have it perfect. It's not my first time with resin tho.
What size is the mold used for this project? I am wanting to do this with my stepmom's flowers from her funeral and would like to get everything before I start it. Thank you!
When adding multiple layers, let each one sit for about 6 hours before adding the next. If it's been more than 48 hours, a light sanding with 220 grit sandpaper can smooth out any visible seams.@@floralwings
@ArtNGlow do you sand while it's still in the mold? In my mind, I would be worried I would scrape the resin mold. I have a project coming up and I my anxiety is through the roof as it is my first bigger piece for a memorial and I am petrified I am going to mess it up😭
What was your wait time between the 7 layers? 2-3 hours, 3-5 hours, 24 hours after 6th or 7th layer? Or is final flood pour the 7th layer? 72 hours after final flood pour to avoid scratches and fully cure. I want to do my first project using a mold similar in size to yours. Please advise.
HI! You can check out the project guide here: www.artnglow.com/pages/flower-preservation-with-resin Megan waited approximately 6 hours between pouring each layer. She waited approximately 24 hours before pouring the final topcoat.

Where do i get the tools, what is this liquid, what is this box called, what flowers do i use, are they dried or fresh, can i use both dried and fresh, what the heck does sanding mean, is this liquid toxic, do i HAVE to use a torch?? Because not everyone has such a thing.
Ok so I’m assuming it won’t create More bubbles after you let a layer completely dry then pour another layer of resin on ? And or will it leave like a double layer film on top where you could tell like a line in the middle sorry if I sound confusing🙄🤣🙄, also IF I start making these I’d want to sell them but since resin is expensive would it be wrong to charge between $50 to $80 dollars in that price range ? And is it ok to use pre dried flowers like you would buy at Joann’s OR Michaels? Thanks so much🌹🌹
Just make sure to mix your resin properly to avoid bubbles. You can also use a lighter/torch or toothpick to pop any surface bubbles. It's good practice to do a light sanding between layers to avoid "seam" lines - and yes, pre-dried flowers should work just fine! 💙
There are many different ways to dry the flowers. A couple of recommended ways are to let them air dry by hanging you bunch of flowers upside down. Or you can also submerge your flowers in silica gel for a few weeks to remove the moisture.
I use a heat gun on my projects and sometimes it causes certain parts of it to harden faster that other parts. then it seems like bubbles form under that hardened piece that can no longer be popped, has this ever happened to you? Help!
WARNING!!! ⚠DO NOT DO A FLOOD POUR WITHOUT SANDING YOUR PIECE!!! I did it without sanding after watching this video, and almost destroyed a very beautiful piece!
I loved this video and I really need your help with floating large items in epoxy…My wife has passed and I I want to create a large glasslike epoxy piece with her personal and most favorite belongings inside of it to like some of her favorite things inside of it like her perfume bottles, some of her high end makeup, her quite large designer hand bag, her sunglasses and several pictures. I feel this would be the perfect way to preserve her items and honor my best friend and my wife and I know you are the only person in the whole world that can help me make this a reality…PLEASE HELP ME Honor Her In The BEST Way I Know She Would Love!!! How would I epoxy my wife’s purse to honor her and preserve it??? (Does anybody know how to do this?)
We are so sorry for your loss, that is a beautiful idea for a tribute. We recommend pouring thin layers, making sure to torch away any bubbles, and letting them cure enough until they are tacky - this will serve as a base for your objects to rest on. If you have any additional questions please shoot us an email at info@artnglow.com.
UA-cam has a ton of more detailed videos but the silica is used to dry the flowers since you can not put fresh flowers in resin. Without drying they will wither and change colors as the resin dries. I hope this helped some.

C'est vraiment très joli. Beau travail.
Very impressive🤗
OMG that blue "background" from the tape looked GORGEOUS 😂

What kind of epoxy did you used last? Was that a special casting epoxy?
How do you preserve the fresh flowers to keep their colours?
Thanks for sharing about how many ozs did you use. I use 1:1 ratio

Beautiful.
Can you explain the silica drying process?
If you sand down the tops do you have to do any other steps before pouring again.
I just want to make sure I don’t see the sanded layer of the epoxy.
Can you do ths with silk flowers as well?
do you usea Pressure Pot or a Vacuum Chamber for the resin?

Can i use hair dryer instead of heat gun?

Hello :) do i have to wait 24 hours each time before pouring the next layer ?
That's correct, for this project Megan let each layer cure for 24 hours. 🙂
If I pour after 24 hours, there are layers of resin visible from the sides. How can I avoid it?

Looks great! You could have done less layers with a deep pour resin (you can pour up to 2 inches at a time with that).
Where do you buy such molds please?

Is it necessary to always sand the surface b4 top coat?
Sanding before adding a top coat is not necessary but it helps A LOT when it comes to removing any small imperfections in your project.
How did you get your flowers to not move during the process??
How much resin is used to made this .?? Can you plz tell me the quantity

Super 👌
what time we need to use new layers . time between them ?
We recommend giving your resin at least 3 hours to thicken into a gel-state before adding additional layers.
So you pour one layer in first then leave it for 24 hours? then add the remaining layer?

Can I take fresh flowers ?
Hi! You want to be sure to completely dry out your flowers or else they will decompose in your finished project!
what did you use to set the resin on to do your top coat?
Those are called 'painting stands'. You can find them super cheap online, or you can use any level objects you don't mind getting a little resin on.
สวยมากๆคร่า
Have you used artificial flowers
Nope! These are all real flowers :)
Thank youuuu

How many days did it take to make this?
This project took Megan approximately 1.5 months from getting and preserving the bouquet, pouring 10 layers of resin, to getting a finished product.
Fresh flowers or dry flowers?

what is this mold called?

This did not provide enough detail for a newbie.....
Like what's silica gel and why is that important or going to have different result from untreated dried flowers

Dried flowers and leaves? Or what?
Yes! When doing a project like this always use pre-dried floral items or fake ones! If not your flowers will decompose inside the resin.
