You go in from the side and raise the brass colour tab to release.

Great video and tutorial, I have that exact window shade on my 2001 BMW E39 530i and my rear window regulator just broke with my window in the down position, I should receive my new rear window regulator in a few days from Amazon.

Is it retrofitable to other e39 without blinds?
So, where the sun shade is. Is the sun shade actually what attaches to the door itself on top?
So, in my car the sunshades are mounted very different, it is not necessary ro remove those bolt that hold the sunshade to the door cover actually
