A lot of Purdys INTs are WRs tipping balls into the defenses hands … he doesn’t make a few bad throws a game but thats every QB in the NFL… I like Brock bc he is calm and reminds me of Montana a lot … He will get the killer instinct Joe had sooner than later and his pocket presence and scrambles are absolutely on point
I think the league is getting better at knowing what we are trying to do. BA has said that the deep dagger routes are getting covered differently this year which means the safeties are coming down and sitting in the routes to take them away. If they are taking away the crossers in the middle of the field, that means the deep posts and go routes are gonna be open over the top. Brock is taking what it given to him so Deebo and JJ who used to do clearing routes so BA could get open are getting open as teams are respecting BA as our #1 WR.
There ya go. So even tho BA isn’t putting up world beating stats, he’s open up other receivers just with his presence. If he ever gets going, this offense gonna bet scary!
I think you've got the right idea. Defenses are trying to clamp down more on the short/intermediate stuff that we've leaned on previously, so that is opening up more down the field. It's great to see how well Purdy can recognize what the defense is giving him and hit all those throws. My only worry is how sustainable that shift toward deeper throws is, given our O-line's weakness in pass protection. While Purdy is very good at scrambling and buying time, it's not something that we want to see him forced to do constantly. The blueprint that a lot of teams (Ravens, Packers, Lions, Chiefs) seemed to use against us during the second half of last season was to sell out to limit the run early, and then clamp down on short/intermediate routes while counting on the pass rush against our O-line to take away the deeper routes. The Patriots obviously couldn't make that whole blueprint work, but better defenses very well might.
This is the first time Kyle is really looking at the pass game as a major factor. It’s been a supplement to the Run game since 2017, so the plays have been more vanilla, but now he has a QB who lets him be more aggressive. Hopefully we’ll see him get more creative.
Purdy is in complete command of that offense. His pocket presence and scrambling is next level. He goes thru his reads very quickly, then when nothing is open, he scrambles, buys more time, and basically opens a new “time to throw” opportunity. Sometimes I wish he’d actually take the check downs more often, that’s what opens up the deep passes. U lure the infield in with ur threat to bunt, then u poke a single right thru em.
I feel so confident and overjoyed when I see Brock winding up to to launch a deep ball. I just know it’s likely completed and probably a house call. He truly is elite and I’m soooo thankful to get to watch phenomenal quarterback play. His scrambles with the pass pump fake destroying defenders is icing on the cake.
Puni has certainly helped, but let's not get carried away. He still only plays one position among five on the O-line, a lot of the players around him still are clear weaknesses, and the overall pass protection is not good.
Yeah, all the haters and deniers and goal-post-movers can keep doing their thing. Meanwhile the kid just keeps getting better and better. The scary thing - for others - is that we STILL haven't seen where the beginning of his ceiling is.
I saw Brodie as my qb. Then Montana and Young. Well 3 decades later. Another franchise qb. Throw back. What would had happened if Bakkle and Harbaugh committed to build around kap instead of in house fighting. I was glad when both got let go.
That's awesome. I became a fan in the 80s, but those Niner teams of Brodie, Washington, Kalia, Johnson, etc fascinate me. I wish there was more stuff on them!
The best part is he’s going to lose games…he’s going to throw ints….pick 6’s even…..the media will call him names…..Shrug! He’ll stay focused and won’t blame his teammates. He’s going to keep grinding.
The entire receiving crew needs to work on their scramble drills to get open. Too many times Brock extends plays forever but nobody breaks free from their coverage.
Wasn't a high snap-to-release time supposed to be a bad thing just last year? I love to see more designed scrambles and roll-outs, but this weekend looked more like being done out of desperation, because the line couldn't prevent inside pressure, even with mostly 3-men rush.
I really think we need to. It's almost impossible to get fast pressure without a blitzer anymore because of the no calls with holding. The game has changed and 90% of obvious holds don't get called.
Amount of blitzes depends on the QB you’re facing. Don’t forget when a team blitzes more there giving the QB less time to throw yes but there also giving him more defined reads so it’s a give & take.
Didn’t Brock not have great weapons in college? He is great, weapons make his life easier, but he can ball out with whoever he has. (JJ is elite but obviously is slept on)
This is controversial to say but if Brock wasn’t a short white guy they would call him the best qb in the league at least 2nd to Mahomes but he’s actually better in the last two years than him
Brian Grease has to go. Buffalo moved on for Alex Smith with Josh Allen. We'll knew Sam Donald was better than Brock Purley. Sam Donald 3rd downs competition was an is better. Let's see who ends up with better statistics Let's see who gets the better contract?
We all knew nothing of that sort, especially you do know nothing, if you have no clue, that Alex Smith never played for Buffalo. Brain is such a terrible thing to waste with drugs, let it go.
At some point Purdy is going to face some playoff defenses. Holding on to the ball for 3 seconds won’t be good thing. He will need to get the ball out on time and get that YAC.

Wow! Faithfuls we have an elite QB on our hands
PURDAWG MVP! 💥
I've been a fan for over 3 decades. Brock is the complete package. Stay healthy and humble, and the sky is the limit, Mr Purdy! 🎉
Frankly I’m still waiting to wake up and find I’ve dreamt the whole Purdy story. It’s so wild.
Purdy, Jennings, and Mason's performance is peak money ball.
Even his bad throws are a mile better than the average bad throw from QB's. Still have flashback of Kirk Cousins in the Red Zone most games.
Pocket presence and scrambling is elite.
He was averaging like 20 yards per completion yesterday at like 10 completions. Absolute monster throws yesterday

I think these long bomb throws is gearing up for Ricky Pearsall being in the line-up. Is Ricky coming back this week??😢
Ricky will be back at practice this week. He is eligible to play next Sunday, not this Sunday.
PUNNi REALLY TRANSFORMED our o-line..🗣️🗣️
credit too BROCK though HE is ELiTE

Purdy is the only "game manager" that puts his team on his back and carries them when they need it. The hateful pundits be damned.
You and Matty M are the very best!! Hope u two can do a few segments together sometime soon!!
He leads the league in passing rn and its not really close
The longer this goes, you , Dave should apply for an assistance qb coach position.
We knew that he has been on an upward trajectory ever since he came in, it’s so exciting.
Purdy maybe on his way to being what Steph became for the Dubs
Just watched Goff throw a 70 yard TD bomb. Let's stop saying these long passes are a rare anomaly. Let's start expecting them regularly🎉

Baalke was the worst GM. He set the 49ers franchise back maybe a decade.
love me some david lombardi coverage during nfl season

Kittle and Jennings are the best at getting open. Aiyuk is good at thinking he’s open. 😂
I cheered in LA he is having a career year will break his 49ers pass record.
12:48 thats how i feel about brock
If I was an opposing offensive coordinator, I'd throw deep against the 49ers.
Let Brock cook!! 👨🍳
Looking like the raider's mad bomber Lamonica
Makes me think back and say Jimmy who? The kid can ball, plain and simple

I had no issue with the missed tackle. I had an issue with the dropped pick. Hit him right in the chest lol
Yes, the two QBs were talking about how they will take over the NFL in two different teams.. lol
david, i gotta get you on the pod to talk about purdy! check your emails my dude ♥️💛
NFL knows the 9ers are the only fly in the oinment of their Cheifs marketining baby, refshows gonna be snaking tuddys all year
Hold up. You covered Luck in college? Did you get into Stanford at 15 yrs old?
lol Lombardi is one year older than Luck.
@@saber26ful yeah man, I’m saying he looks too young to have covered Luck in college. It’s a compliment
Mina Kimes is struggling to come up with passive aggressive comments about Brock as we speak
cirious why they didn't blizt more against the rams?
Good question. Used to be the 49ers would sack Goff or Stafford early and they'd be seeing ghosts by the 3rd quarter
NFL needs to seem somewhat competitive.
