Most of Team ICO (along with many new recruits) is now part of genDESIGN. Along with Fumito Ueda, they've all been hard at work to make Ueda's 4th game a reality. While things have been very quiet about the new game, we do know (confirmed by Ueda himself) that it will be open-world. Perhaps it will FINALLY be revealed at Tokyo Gameshow next month.
SotC clearly influenced Legend of Zelda, especially Breath of the Wild and its sequel, as well as the Monster Hunter and Soulsborne games, including Elden Ring. The main thing that wasn't copied was the empty world and heavy desolate atmosphere, in most cases. And the monsters normally aren't climbing puzzles, aside from the moving dungeons in BotW.
No dissing "Fortnite: Battle Royale". If you play "Praey For The Gods" on easy or normal you don't have to worry about the survival mechanics (I beat the game on all difficulties). You can just focus on exploring, puzzle solving, & taking out those bosses. The game really needs more love & a physical release. As for a Director's Cut of S.O.T.C. we "might" get that from Bluepoint Games next year to celebrate the 20th anniversary. Let's keep out fingers crossed!!!
@@yashveersingh6633 Both of us (as well as others) have a dedication to "Shadow Of The Colossus" that goes beyond just liking a game. Not everyone that plays the game feels the same way obviously. But for those that do find it to be a special game, & even in a therapeutic experience, I guess we both sort of feel like it's our job to keep the spirit & memory of this masterpiece alive. Not because we have to, but because we want to.
If you’re looking for a similar game I would def recommend titan souls, it is a little different since it’s from a top down perspective but still similar in structure imo
more than anything I want team ico to make a new game, its been a long time since the last guardian.

@@timmadone8930 I understand. I found this game so interesting that I played it on my phone on 20 fps in an emulator . Also loved ico
Shadow of colossus is definitely my favorite game. I hope to get the ability to battle 48 potentially

Also a really nice level of challenge where you have to learn the boss mechanics.
Interesting, I've never heard of it. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the suggestion!
