Still waiting for a 2.0 for the Exia. As badass as the Astraea looks i genuinely don't want the headaches that come with the original Exia kit, so I'm hoping that we get a 2.0 of at least Exia that is compatible with some of the Astraea parts, if not all of them
I built the MG Exia RIII awhile back. Sure it has a lot of issues, but if you know what they are and treat them as such, it's still a great kit for its presentation. I even would recommend the RIII over the original, since it's basically that plus parts to make it into the RIII and you can swap stuff around to your liking. Although once you snap in the new inner leg frame part, it locks you into the RIII knees, so you won't be able to get the full original. But you can still swap the other areas like the waist armor, GN condenser/drive, back skirt, shoulders, arms, upper leg, and shin parts freely between the old and new ones. But honestly, while the GN cables coming out the shoulder into the upper arm are pretty iconic, it still makes the shoulder area terribly stiff to handle. Which makes the new RIII shoulders an improvement. Still I gotta admit, we do need a 2.0 because the internal design, build experience, and even minute aesthetic, such as the bevelling are so plainly a decade behind. While its looks don't disappoint even in current year, the MG Exia feels more like an FM kit compared to the other MG S1 00 gundams. The fact that it weighs lighter to hold than the MG Dynames--even the NG Dynames from 2007 makes it feel hollow for its scale and grading.
There’s a small plot hole in the manga 00F, because we still don’t know how Fon found the Avalanche Dash to upgrade it for himself, and the big sword too
Bandai tried to put the 00F logo on some products related to Avalanche Type F, like MB or MG, while it was entirely in the 00I manga. At the beginning of the 00I manga, it is mentioned that Fon broke into the weapons storage of the 3rd generation Gundam that Fereshte kept after Operation Fallen Angel, taking everything, including the Avalanche Dash
Earlier they showed Eco investigating CB warehouses. Eco reports they’re completely empty, including Avalanche systems. Chall was unsure who would know of the location and specific take everything, including parts for units specific for them, but she immediately realized it was Fon.
Just looking at this(2yl) and upon reaching the moment Gaikotsu mentioned that the back looks like a samurai vibe, and I had to comment that I had a thought of removing the thrusters from the shoulder connection back(clipping them off) and slotting them(hollowed out) along a straight line to the Beam Saber connection, and making it so that you can fit the GN Tachi in there on both sides as a GN Tachi Long and GN Tachi Short, in a sort of Astray Sengoku way, and fitting GN Blade Longs to the hip after removing the handle section on an adapted Freedom railgun mount for hip-mounted GN Bladerifles, and strapping to the helmet some small Vulcans and modifying the “horns” of the Astraea into a samurai motif helmet, and you’ve got basically Gundam Astraea Type-F Shogun!
I wish the yellow bits were a more muted color like that shown on illustrations. Despite that, I consider getting this when I ordered the Astraea because it does look great. On the other hand, I also love the design of the base suit.
@@Samantha_yyz Polycap is a type of soft plastic which is used as a cheap solution for the joints of gundam model kits (usually in HG), however since it is cheap, it becomes loose as time goes or from overposing the kit. Looking at the MG Astraea, I really do feel like the old Exia kit in recent moldings hasn't been so bad.
