As in the words of Paula Abdul. Season 3 was the most competitive final in Idol history. Have to agree with her, both girls were on fire. Idol contestant usually underperformed during finals.
Not as strong as the first time she performed it (I dont know what happened that night.. The sound system made her voice sound way more thin that she normally do) but still was good, specially at the end. What I liked about both Diana and Fantasia reprises that night is that different from previous and upcoming seasons, both made some changes on the arrangement/on how they finished their reprises. Diana added some runs, Fantasia finished summertime with a big dramatic note.
She chose the right songs in the finale, but she went off-key during Don’t Cry Out Loud, which ultimately sealed her fate. I rooted for Diana this whole season, and didn’t really care for Fantasia.
Could Simon be at least a little courteous to an American Idol finalist??? I mean it was obvious he wanted Fantasia to win the whole season through, but at least try to act impartial!!!
Now I remember Fantasia and Diana singing 4 songs at the finale. Diana sang I Believe, No More Tears, Don't Cry Out Loud, and Don't Cry Out Loud Reprise. Fantasia sang All My Life, The Greatest Love of All, Summertime, and I Believe. Why won't they upload Fantasia's second song and Diana's third song? Diana had mic issues with all but her third song which was ironic. I'm starting to think the judges wanted Fantasia to win over Diana. The first 2 songs Diana sang Diana embarrassed Fantasia.
Diana was a great performer week after week. She showed she can sing anything, jazz, pop, disco, she was perfect on Barry Manillow's week and Gloria Estefan week. Fantasia on the other hand was bottom two on both nights, and on another week. Diana should've won but Paula's and Andy's comments on a television interview before the voting influenced a lot of people. I don't like Fantasia's singing voice.
I dont like Fantasia's tone too. But technically speaking Fantasia is way more superior than Diana. Diana was just 16 at this time and u could see, her techniques are at times shaky.
I agree!!! Gyrating all over the stage does not a star make!!! Her voice is screachy and she cant hold a note, just does the "yeah yeah yeah" thing, it's annoying!!!

Diana sounded nice. But she's not really that unique. Even Jasmine is more unique than her.

Diana were trying to hard this time came across over the top. Didn't like the way she acted during the finale too bubbly ahhh.
