How we sample our bathing waters

​Scotland currently has 89 designated bathing waters. The general water quality condition for each location is described by a classification statement - excellent, good, sufficient and poor - based on four years of monitoring data. These classifications are calculated at the end of one season for display at the start of the following season.
The video showcases the journey of how we take a bathing water sample, how we analyse the water quality it in our laboratories, and how we take the findings and share that information with those who enjoy the water at our designated bathing water locations.
