Abandoned villas in Veneto: Villa Dal Verme - Agugliaro (Vicenza)

The Villa Dal Verme in Agugliaro, province of Vicenza, was built at the beginning of the 15th century and represents a prototype for later VILLE VENETE. The Dal Verme family benefited from wealth and many landed estates until 1441. Ludovico Dal Verme, a mercenary leader on behalf of the Venetian Republic, was one of the architects of the family's fortune. The family's properties were confiscated by the Venetian Republic following the rebellion of Alvise Dal Verme and auctioned off.
Today the abandoned villa belongs to the Veneto Region and is for sale.
