Meh, I actually don’t like her face/makeup/screening that much and her hair doesn’t inspire me either. She was an easy pass for me. I enjoyed seeing the outfits/looks she got in this video, tho!! Also, as for why I don’t like her face…her eyes are a little freaky IMO; she’s got a somewhat vacant/blank stare. Plus her makeup is…not my style. Her upper lip looks overdrawn (I think? It’s hard to tell, I’d need to see better closeup photos) and the eye makeup is unappealing to me (the upper and lower lash styles don’t match).
This Barbie is glamorous looking just because of her facial expression. She has that look of a haute couture model walking the runway. The kimono look is perfection! The poses you placed her in while wearing it were over the top fabulous! Mattel should hire you as a designer of fashion packs and limited edition dolls. Oh, yes. I can see that. I had my hair this way in the late 80s/early 90s, and she reminds me of that too. I like that she is a slightly retro take from a few decades ago, but she can still look contemporary.
I think there are many reasons why she is still not sold out. Main reason is that she costs too much , 35 Euro for the doll + 10 Euro for 1-Year Barbie Signature Membership + shipping and taxes ... at the end the price could be from 70 to 90 Euro. Other reasons could be the tall body , the pale skin and the clothes. One other thing that I have notice is that the Lina head sculpt seems not to be so "wow" , I got all the BMR1959 and female Looks dolls (exept Model 13 and 19). I show very often my new dolls to my friends and family ... and the reaction to the Barbie Looks Model 1 (Lina) was always not so great , I have even dress her up many times. The only Barbie Looks dolls that got an even lower reaction was Model 12 , 15 and 7.

Just got my first two Looks dolls. The redhead and curvy from last year. The only thing I've done with them is curl the curvy ones hair. The side pony wasn't cutting it. The outfits, especially the curvy ones, look better than the ones from this year. I will eventually change their outfits, but they look good together, two curly hair girls just hanging out.

I have her. I ordered her as soon as she was available. I also ordered the Supergirl doll because she was a made to move. I'm still waiting for her to arrive. I LOVED the Kimono Day Dream look. I have that doll, the 90's Japanese Barbie, but as much as I loved how she looked in it, I am NOT going to let her borrow the kimono. I'd rather buy the doll again. She is also one of my favorites.🙂

I was on the fence with her tbh but I am a sucker for a doll with violet eyes, Mattel doesn't do it very often now. I think she's quiet pretty actually she's giving Liz Taylor in a modern way, and actually reminded me of Brenda 90210 doll, I think its the hair style, if I get her she's getting rerooted for sure! I’ve got to say, she’s rather blank/expressionless to me and sitting at the very back of the cupboard unclothed. Would love to see a repaint OOAK revision of her. Just my opinion, but alongside my other looks and silkstone gals she just doesn’t have much of a personality.

I love these they are gorgeous. #19 is probably my favorite though. My fav look was of course the kimono but the one you stuck with was a close second!
OMG Arjen I LOVED the whole lookbook you just created for this beauty!! I really wish she was on Amazon so I could buy her. I can't buy her from the Mattel website because it is such a hassle to get the doll from there: Mattel never gives a tracking number, they never include my telephone number in the address so when the doll arrives, the postal service from my country is so bad that they don't ever bother to call to my phone number or come to deliver the package, so it is all a waste of time and money for me 😭😞. I would really love to buy her but she's exclusive from Mattel's website 🤷🏼♀️.
This doll reminds me of a prettier version of myself in the early 90s, and I am 5'10", so the tall body works too. I think she is a versatile doll when rebodied, as these restyles show. I do agree the lips are a bit too bright and maybe painted too large, but I have full lips and looked like that when I wore bright lipstick too, so I can't complain too much.
Such a gorgeous makeover! I especially love the Kimono Daydream look. 😍 I really want to get this doll soon - I love her long dark hair, lavender eyes and bold red lips. I also like that she comes with extra outfits and accessories, but I wish she wasn’t a Mattel member exclusive … that could be why she’s not selling as much imo. I think a lot of us don’t like the idea of paying an extra $10 for her, lol.

I much prefer your version of this doll. She was so so in the box. Do not like those harsh colors. She is so much prettier the way you dressed her. I have that Japanese doll I found at a thrift store. She is so beautiful too. The quality of that kimono is gorgeous. I’ve got to say, she’s rather blank/expressionless to me and sitting at the very back of the cupboard unclothed. Would love to see a repaint OOAK revision of her. Just my opinion, but alongside my other looks and silkstone gals she just doesn’t have much of a personality.
Awe, better sell her to someone who will be able to appreciate her then, sometimes that’s just the case when you get a doll that she loses your interest.. Thankfully mattel is on a roll with fun releases this year haha 😅

I have her and I adore her. I have the wave one Line because my friend found her at a thrift store.. Score! I recently got 3 wave 2 dolls and 2 of the wave 3 dolls (love the Asian Ken). I love these they are gorgeous. #19 is probably my favorite though. My fav look was of course the kimono but the one you stuck with was a close second!

OMG Arjen I LOVED the whole lookbook you just created for this beauty!! I really wish she was on Amazon so I could buy her. I can't buy her from the Mattel website because it is such a hassle to get the doll from there: Mattel never gives a tracking number, they never include my telephone number in the address so when the doll arrives, the postal service from my country is so bad that they don't ever bother to call to my phone number or come to deliver the package, so it is all a waste of time and money for me 😭😞. I would really love to buy her but she's exclusive from Mattel's website 🤷🏼♀️.

This doll reminds me of a prettier version of myself in the early 90s, and I am 5'10", so the tall body works too. I think she is a versatile doll when rebodied, as these restyles show. I do agree the lips are a bit too bright and maybe painted too large, but I have full lips and looked like that when I wore bright lipstick too, so I can't complain too much.

Such a gorgeous makeover! I especially love the Kimono Daydream look. 😍 I really want to get this doll soon - I love her long dark hair, lavender eyes and bold red lips. I also like that she comes with extra outfits and accessories, but I wish she wasn’t a Mattel member exclusive … that could be why she’s not selling as much imo. I think a lot of us don’t like the idea of paying an extra $10 for her, lol.
Yeah, that’s a bummer if you have to pay extra for that membership. I already had the membership so it didn’t cost me extra .. But think that’s a good reason why indeed 🥲
