I am a wharehouse stocker average about 15k steps a day on top of having to lift items ranging from 35-50lbs consistently. I’ve been able to maintain a pretty consistent training schedule of 4 days a week, usually working out after I get off work. There are days that I find myself just exhausted from work and not enough sleep and I allow myself to take a break or do a low volume session. I can really relate to this situation.

Do you find you need to do extra work in your training to counter the repetetive movements you do during your job?

This is so helpful I do golf course maintenance and I easily walk 15-25k steps everyday

Same issue here, my minimum steps per day are 20k, there are days I hit 35k!

Same here! I work at a golf course and we usually work everyday with occasional days off.

I've always wondered this. I've asked in forums. They want me to squat my ass off meanwhile I walk over 15 thousand steps+ a day, I'm not a professional body builder. This is a way to stay fit but not at the risk of my livelihood.

I work in construction and it’s kind of hard to get used to while working out. Some days it’s easy then others are an ass whippin. I just tend to modify intensity on those harder days

I most definitely agree i'm a custodian janitor working indoor building with that said I'm mostly a fitness body bulider increase a massive form of 35% to 46% of per leant muscular strength building exercises, not to mention i don't struggle as much anymore, I use to when I was over challenging myself too much where that put too much stress and pressure but I changed all that by reinforcing myself in different steps to optimize time with recovering my work outs from additional work outs through, increase more an more bionic fuel, leant, from emerging supplements, I was able to slow down but restore fusion in my muscle mass over loads. And limited, speed activities to perform a dominate sucessful mesaure. while I'm working brutal, higher pay jobs...i train a hell of a lot to keep my blood sugar and massive cells intact. From ,eating lots of food and drinking energy drinks only when needed even Gatorades,so i can hydrate to keep working gain control with persistence without putting too much, pressure on myself, or tiering myself out too.I trained a lot to put more speed into my rotuines when i gotta pick up the paste and perform progressive overloads, for the most, harder worst ,challenges, in the work force, facilities....i do not be playing around when i train a lot to keep myself in full shape to get all, the work done neither...especially when it comes to making some awsome extra money i don't be bullsh**ting at all my dude...i'm a strict professional hard worker for things like this too....any type of work some, if some one wants me to get done I'll get it gone guaranteed no problem.....no questions asked.I told others stick with what their doing but don't strain or hinder themselves so much to avoid problems doing their jobs so it doesn't cut down their pay.I had to learn the hard at least I'm doing better just everyone else.

Your body doesnt always know the difference between a hard workout and hard work at a job. You gotta play it by ear a bit. If im at work an I have stack and lift 200 bundles of shingles that are 60lbs each I dont do lower back and arms Ill do legs. Or If i walk 20-40k steps in a long day I dont have a 3mile run after work. Hard work is hard work regardless if its a 30min-2hrs in the gym or its a 8-12hr labour day at work.

I have the same problem. I'm a women welder who works under vehicles.
The job requires squatting, lifting heavy pieces of metal, twisting, bending over, etc.
I recently joined a Crossfit gym and love it but afterwards my lower back is fatigued. It's so tired that I have trouble standing up straight after I get out of the car.
Is this a sign I'm doing too much? Do I need a longer cool down period?

try changing the exercises and back off intensity. If you want make light days around work, and heavy days around days off. Cut out the extra 'fluff movements' and cut out alot of cardio like movements. You already move way more then the average person, hit compound only, along with good sleep. Supplement with creatine and coffee if you really need a boost :)

I have a question for anyone that can help me. I am on the keto diet, and i can’t get 200g of protien with this diet without exceeding my calorie deficit. Keto is the only diet I’ve ever seen actual results with, should I drop it and just go high protien with healthy carbs?

Just depends on your weight. The minimum requirement for someone to maintain body muscle is 0.8kg for every kg of lean weight without counting fat mass
