A VARIANT ON THIS THAT MAKES IT EASIER. Ok - This was brilliant. Thank you. 1 catch. That inner snap ring. I got it out, but I could not get it back on. I spent hours and hours and I was so frustrated I was literally losing my mind. So... I simply unbolted the 4 bolts on the compressor (didn't have to remove anything else - I never had to remove the freon lines!), and turned the compressor about 30-45 degrees so I could face the snap ring replacement head-on without being hampered by the frame. It still wasn't a walk in the park, but I got it on waaaay easier. Do this and save yourself from an anger induced stroke!
Good video. +1 for actually torquing the bolt to spec, and with the proper tool. If you have them, use right angle snap ring pliers for the first snap ring, and 45 degree for the second one. I bought the 45 degree specifically for this job, and now I have another tool in my "used it once" pile lol.
Thanks so much! I have to do this on our Odyssey. Back when I was a tech we never replaced clutches, just the whole compressor. Too much of a chance the compressor was also on its way out to risk the comeback.
How many compressors have been replaced when this was all that was needed? Thanks for the demonstration with minimal, no-fancy tools. Great to watch the mechanics with all their pullers, etc., but no fun buying/storing rarely used tools.
Thanks for the helpful video. I appreciate your taking the time to upload it. Question please, does the AC clutch kit in the link fit Honda Odyssey 2008?
Some videos show you how to do it so you can do it, and some show you how much of a pia job is and that you don't want to do it. This is one of those videos.
Thank you for the helpful tips and insights.

Other than the fact that the system needs to be evacuated and refilled, it's easier and faster to replace the whole compressor.
Great video Thanks for all these information.
Glad it was helpful!

🤣
What is it that the special clutch tool does?
I think it stops the assembly from spinning when tightening the last screw to go on.
Buy a good set of snap ring pliers! Folks
They usually come with different tips for 90 degrees angle
very good !!!
HELLO! Can I have your business inquiry email address? Do you still have Honda Accord?
