Wow, what an amazing all-around person, graduating in 3.5 years with a 3.85 GPA, while playing D1 football at such a high level, then pursuing his Masters degree while playing in the NFL. I didn’t play college football, but I did play baseball at App State when they were still D1-AA, and that was hard enough to maintain a decent GPA, let alone a 3.85. Competing in the Ironman events during his offseason too. And I love how he stopped talking to the media once he was in the military, that shows you that he joined for the right reasons.I learned a lot from this video, after hearing about him in your NFL players who died in their prime made me think about why he isn’t talked about much anymore. It’s pretty obvious though. That shit is sad.. Tillman was just a marketing campaign to them. The NFL could use some more players like Tillman these days. R.I.P. to a real American hero who doesn’t get a sliver of the respect he deserves.
Again man, another well researched video. I’ll definitely be recommending your channel to my fellow sports fans.

I remember reading the SI article about friendly fire when I was about 12 years old. A friend may have even mentioned to me that there was a cover up within the last month too but I'm not really sure bc going into this video I still believed he died bc of enemy fire while performing heroic actions. Propaganda can be very powerful apparently...
I can understand the whole "friendly fire" rumors and frustration going over my head reading the SI article bc I was young and probably wouldnt have been able to grasp the situation at that point in my life. But my buddy has served over seas, is still enlisted in the reserves to this day and both of us have an interest in and enjoy learning about American military history too so I find it kinda hard to believe he wouldnt have known about the cover up since he was deployed around this same time. We were playing call of duty when he had mentioned Pat's name though so maybe my brain didnt retain that information since I wasn't giving my undivided attention to our conversation. Nonetheless- this still serves as a good example as to why its important for us to recognize and also challenge our preconceptions and beliefs no matter what the topic is.
The last thing I'd like to say is very good video Mike and thanks for sharing this/making me aware about the circumstances surrounding his death. His final actions and moments might not have been what usually comes to mind when thinking about an American hero losing their life while serving overseas for the military. But Pat's selflessness, integrity, loyalty, honesty, dedication, and intelligence are all virtues that come to mind when I think about what it means for somebody to be the embodiment of a true hero. I feel like I ought to learn more about this man so I can draw inspiration from the example he set in my own life. Thanks again for sharing this information and Pat's story with us Mike.

    To All,
The Pat Tillman story is a story that I see repeatedly not just militarily, but in every day civilian life. Bear with me for a moment. I was an ICU RN for 25+ years--and after giving 27 years of my career to a local hospital--to make a long story short--they viciously, verbally assaulted me after cornering me in the staff lounge in an effort to get me to resign. And I wasn’t the only one. Loyalty is NOT respected by our politicians, employers, our friendships, and sadly also marriages. After that I worked at a dialysis unit, a GI Dept., a prison, etc. and have now pretty much retired. My point to telling you all of this is--is if the big shots, people who are supposed to be leaders can’t do it right, how is it anyone else will??? All these other places wanted me to give substandard care--I don’t do substandard care on any level. As I have gotten older, I’m 67 now, I have found that doing anything right and honestly is almost extinct. “Thank You.”
