@@markgriffiths3262 He is 73, give him a break and from what I am seeing is the sound wasn't done well at this show, I have seen other vids from the show. He is still worth it!
@@markgriffiths3262 I don't want to hear a record when I go to a concert. Part of the magic of live performance is that there is a person, who may not be pitch perfect at all times, but who is performing live what some techno-geek board dude cleaned up, usually too much to put out on record. Actually, I never cared for Billy's studio stuff. Just like Paul McCartney, his records never have the range and power of his live music.
For all my comments about Billys current vocal ability, I must admit he is truly amazing when I heard him sing Innocent Man posted 5 months ago singing live. My god he, to my ear, actually hits the high note, twice. Bravo to Billy!!!
The piano man strikes again! Only this time, with an electric guitar, as an old man. 😂 Billy Joel is a seasoned performer and now an oldtimer. Good for him! God bless him! 😊

@@markgriffiths3262 His voice is honestly in very good condition. Sure he hits a few out of key notes just like every other musical artist in existence
Nobody sings a love song like Billy Joel or any song really. Fun: I went to school with a neighbor of his ex wife’s. I think that’s cool 😎 we share a birthday. Well same month. Supposedly that means I’m supposed to marry a rockstar or somebody rich.
The older you get the less you worry about looks, its more about , personality, keeping yourself nice, and the few close friends. For the schmuck who said, he may look a 100, you should be so lucky to have his body of work.
I get my second wind after a big night on the Beer and Curry , comes not long after my first wind. Once I swear my Third wind sounded like a elephant asking for a high five.
Sounds good for his age (hope I sound even a quarter as good just talking as he does singing (my singing voice is not even a thirty-second as good as his) when I reach his age), but I'm not sure this was a good opener. Walking out with the guitar made him look way too old. Kinda hurt thinking about the energy he had in the music video and seeing him walk out to preform in concert 30+ years later.
The voice is still there , bit weaker but still in key and mostly sounds the same. The booze fueled Billy of the 70s and 80s is long gone but compared to his peers he still sounds awesome.
@@BobCat623923 I get it, but he has a great guitar player in his band by the name of Mike Deljudice. Mike also does back up vocals, and in truth, at this point in Billys great career, would rather hear Mike sing Billys songs. I think he still plays in his tribute band "Big Shot". Check him out, get back to me, on what you think. Cheers, Mark
@@markgriffiths3262 I know who he is...I've heard him. Isn't Tommy Burns Billy's lead guitarist?? @@BobCat623923 Thats right. I agree, about Deljudice and his guitar playing, but he also plays piano mainly. But he is not there for either instrument, it is his vocal instrument that is exceptional. Backing vocals and helping Billy at his live gigs. Later he made appearances at some of mikes gigs, then asked him to tour with him full time. Quite a story really.
FFS he can hardly walk, hardly move. He's not even playing the guitar and he can't sing. The narcissism that keeps these old codgers going 30 years past their due date is just astounding.

You and Molly, hearing check, two for one.
Billy turns 75 next year, but you can almost feel the years melting off of him whenever he sings his older hits.
all he has are older hits
Brilliant song!! And a lot of wisdom in its lyrics!
When this song arrived in 1986, people couldn't believe this was Ballad singing Billy Joel in a Hard-Driven, rock song.
One of the few artists out there who sounds just as good live as he does on his albums…if you can see him (especially at the Garden), GO DO IT. 🎹

I wish Billy and Elton would record a song together before they retire! We’ll never see the likes of them again.
