What a world of difference an afternoon of work can make. Looking good Chad. I think I'm finally getting my 1783 New to act right.
In my area they use expanded-shale to add oxygen to the soil(instead of perlite), it is very-very expensive.
Instead of weed-killer I think you ought to use a torch(heat/hot-flame) & simply pop the weeds-seeds with steam instead, IDK the best purchase-option but it'd be organic. You might even be able to put a piece of metal over your plastic-soakers & torch over them safely, the goal being to reduce herbicides to reduce accidental lockouts.
My method is somewhat no-till where I cover the tilled-plot with a composed mulch that was heated up to the max 164f, it usually happens within the first three 84f days if nights are above 55f. That's just when the bacteria get seasonally active.
I have an aerobic-OSSF & wonder if a safer one without human-waste could be beneficial. Basically it's an aerobic-digester(sulfur removal) that is fed from an anaerobic-digester(nitrogen removal). I'm still studying the chemistry of drained-wetlands so I'm no expert. The suggested 12-16 weeks it takes to build an aerobic population in an aerobic-OSSF is accurate, IMO.
Awesome lights. Love the content.
Much appreciated
Patch is looking great ! Weeds are gone !!!
Yes they are! and stay out! lol
The New took down Mav!! I do love the lights!! How much room you devoting to each melon?
Roughly 16*6 100 sqft - ISH. I really wish the damn things would take off. I was rather surprised that I chose my seed, but I had to pick the plant and not the genetics.
Got it!! And yes you gotta pick the plant, you got one shot with each plant to make something and they all got great genetics!!
Why the preference on smaller leaves? I would assume the bigger leaves would always be better.
smaller leaves typically bunch together more / easier.
Greenhouse size?
72x34
What are the dimensions of your greenhouse?
72x34
