Hi Gilles! Great video!! Now I realize the amazing snow conditions you had for your 'Vallée Blanche'...pretty lucky! I'm glad you enjoyed your day with our Guide Franck. It was really nice to meet you in Chamonix, take care! Magali - 'Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix'.

I hiked the Vallee Blanche in summer in reverse from Montenvers up to the Summit of the Aiguille du Midi! Much slower than on skis so we spent a night en route at the Refuge de Requin up on the rocks above the Geant Ice-Fall! Spectacular Scenery. And then a few days later we hiked with crampons & ice-axe to the summit of Mt Blanc @ 4807m! Awesome Views!
I found your channel about a week ago and have been obsessed ever since. Great quality and commentary, continue the great work! Cannot wait for the 22/23 ski season!!
very nice, when I did the vallee blanche there was no ropes or guard rails and we did not have all that kit you have. I followed some guys who new they way. It was wonderful.
Superb thankyou for an excellent insight into Chaminox. My visit was not as exciting as yours by any means. Have to return. Seems like you can order the weather too!!
I been to Chamonix in April 2019. Did snow shoeing at Vallorcine Mountain, hiking in Le Brévént and sightseeing in L'aiguille de Midi. Too bad can't do ski and paragliding. Also had to forgo to see Mer de Glace. It's a very refreshing small town and lovely.
Amazing footage that really makes you want to book that same ski holiday, including the off piste excursion too. Of course I’d want the exact same weather as well 🙂
La Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix have been around over 200 years! This is for sure your best option: www.chamonix-guides.com/en Have an awesome time in Cham 😁

No mention of Grand Montets or Le Tour. Both areas that should be on anyones itinerary for Chamonix. You don't have to take the train after Valle Blanche to get back to Chamonix Ville. You can carry on and arrive in town, if you have the legs.
Hey 👋 Just book with La Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix, they’re the most experienced guides for La Vallée Blanche 😊👍 www.chamonix-guides.com/en/activities/category/skiing
Hi Phil, we can help you with that, just fill in some details here: www.topsnowtravel.com/request-a-quote/ and we will take care of the rest for you including getting you an incredible local mountain guide 😊
For La Vallée Blanche off-piste run, there are several routes you can take and they vary from the intermediate-friendly Classic route to the expert-only Grand Envers du Plan. You don’t have to master all blacks first if you go the easy route 😊
You certainly can 😃 . You can access the top of Brévent gondola at Le Panoramic restaurant with a pedestrian pass. It is open throughout the day and for lunch and is the best place to enjoy the view of Mont Blanc and the Chamonix Valley. Chamonix - Brévent gondola pedestrian lift tickets return comes to 35€ per person. You can also get pedestrian gondola ticket to go up l'Aiguille du Midi and admire the stunning views there! There are plenty of winter activities in Chamonix Mont-Blanc for non skiers too. Thanks for watching!
If you want to get the bed deals and value for your wallet. Go in January, it’s the best and cheapest time to go. Here is some info on when to go: www.topsnowtravel.com/best-time-to-go-skiing-in-france/
Been to all 3 😊 Chamonix is a town, not a village like Whistler and is much bigger and more spread out than Aspen although the ski area in Aspen is tiny if you excludes Snowmass and butter milk. Chamonix is low in altitude and not purpose built so you don’t get ski in ski out accommodation unless you’re near Plan Praz gondola and that’s if there’s snow all the way down the bottom. Chamonix is stunning for its peaks, the views are incredible and the off-piste is world class. You do have to drive around like Aspen to access the other mountains (snowmass, buttermilk, highlands) but in Whistler, it is just 1 linked ski area. If you want something like Whistler, but with more mountain traditional style instead , go to Val d’Isère or Méribel. The ski areas are much bigger than Whistler Blackcomb or Aspen Mountains. Here is some info on both ski resorts: www.topsnowtravel.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-val-d-isere/ www.topsnowtravel.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-meribel/
It's not mandatory to have a guide when going off-piste like skiing down La Vallée Blanche however we strongly recommend it, you don't want to fall into a crevasse. Having a local guide is really reassuring and more relaxing plus you get to find out a lot more from their experience about the area. We wouldn't have it any other way 😊

Not for Chamonix it’s too low, go to high altitude ski resorts above 1800m in altitude like Val Thorens, Tignes, Val d’Isère, La Rosière…
Hi , what intermediate level would you say to do the off piste? Necessary to master all blacks first?
For La Vallée Blanche off-piste run, there are several routes you can take and they vary from the intermediate-friendly Classic route to the expert-only Grand Envers du Plan. You don’t have to master all blacks first if you go the easy route 😊
