My Journey from Kolkata - Chandigarh - Rohru - This is the Pre Trek Day or Day 0 prior to actual travel to the Base Camp.
Day 1 - Drive from Rohru to Jiskun (7,630 ft)
The Road from Rohru to Chanseel is Paved Roads but from Chansheel to Jiskun is Unpaved road and total travelling time takes atleast 7 hours.
Day 2 - Trek from Jiskun to Jakha
Trek Distance: 4 km | Trek Duration: 4 hours | Altitude gain: 7,630 ft to 8,755 ft
Jiskun & Jakha are both Homestays
Day 3 - Trek from Jakha to Saruwas Thatch
Trek Distance: 7.10 km | Trek duration: 5-6 hours | Altitude gain: 8755 ft to 10,770 ft
Saruwas Thatch stay is in Tent and Beautiful Landscape.
Day 4 - Trek from Saruwas Thatch to Upper Waterfall
Trek Distance: 5.4 km | Trek Duration: approx. 6 hours | Altitude gain: 10,770 ft to 13,275 ft
Usually, Day 4 is the trek till Lower Waterfall. However, due to the Road from Sangla to Shimla being blocked, we had to cross 2 campsites in order to cover a day and be able to come back to Jiskun & Rorhru.
Day 5 - Pass-crossing day: Upper Waterfall camp to Rupin Pass, Back to Lower Waterfall
Trek Distance: 7.4 km | Trek Duration: 9-10 hours | Altitude gain and loss: 13,275 ft to 15,279 ft to 11,700 ft
Since the Sangla Road was Blocked, We had to Summit and come back to Lower waterfall Camp.
Day 6 - Lower Waterfall to Jakha
Trek Distance: 10.1 km | Trek Duration: 7-8 hours | Altitude loss: 11,700 ft to 8755 ft
Day 7 - Jakha to Jiskun Base Camp
Trek Distance: 4 km | Trek Duration: 4 hours | Altitude Loss: 8,755 ft to 7,630 ft.
