"It's so great to see you."
"Yeah."
Classic Julien
His voice live has really improved since they started, they just get better and better
I saw them on my birthday last November, this video doesn't really do it justice how good they are live
No. They would be better off getting an actual singer.
@@markowalski1 dude word
Found this band through Spotify and I'm so glad I did. Every band, and artist, that I find is so unique and beautiful in their own way.
Same here, their latest album is absolutely gorgeous. I can’t believe they don’t get more attention!!
I can't count how many bands KEXP has got me into!! Keep em coming. These guys sound incredible!
Country indie is so good
Roots indie
Honestly yeah I dig it. I usually hate country music.
Cheryl is looking and sounding so much better, glad to see her recovery is going well.
Connor Fletcher can you fill me in w what happened please?
@@nicklintner8383 I'm not sure exactly but I think she had some form of cancer and took some time off. It seems like she's recovered really well though!
Whitney is life
seeing them on august 6 in central park, with weyes blood. never been to new york before. it’s for my birthday. i’m really excited.
That would be such a great show. I saw Weyes Blood in October and loved them! Natalie has such a great voice.
Henry B unfortunately it may not occur as of now, but here’s to hoping! thanks for the comment.
Did this happen?
Christopher Walker unfortunately not
@@nicklintner8383 oh i hope you can goo
One of my favourite bands now, especially when the trumpet blasts away.
huge s/o to that acoustic guitar tone. it gets some awesome features in this set in the instrumental part of friend of mine & the intro to valleys (my love). Cheryl killing it as always
Yeah shout out to that DI acoustic tone 😂incredible
Awesome, just wish that they played Used to be lonely.
“Maybe u should give up if that’s what it sounds like” HAH- Cheryl
My absolute favourite band at the moment! Really helps lift my spirits during lockdown. KEXP is the best, thanks for always hosting such incredible musicians!
When I first saw Whitney play, I was like "vocoding a trumpet, oh that's a cool way to do that live!" looks like the camera guy thought that was cool too.
The lead guitarist's tone is so nasty, I love it
It is so clean, yet so nasty!
it really is. nasty and clean
ooh definitely gave that reply before seeing the last comment!
I remember discovering them a couple years ago, been waiting for the kexp special that was inevitable.
here's another ua-cam.com/video/Q0Sn3j1Z8z0/v-deo.html

Wow, it sounds so crisp- and the horns are so good. You've got to love the maj7 chords.
Maj7s are the best
A long with maj9s
Damn you boise know your music theory
Not really
@@Winterharbourmusic I know, I was being a dick
Saw Whitney as I was scouting new music on the Coachella stream in 2017. Based on Julien’s expression, it appeared to be a hot, sweaty, uncomfortable afternoon. But the music ... man. The music didn’t suffer. I was hooked. Seems like people are finally coming around. Good for them. Wishing them much success.
Amazing
I
Whitney é bom demais
whitnay back @ kexp
woot woot!
Saw them at Lollapalooza and had never heard of them before but fell in love with their music. Been a fan ever since!
That trumpet gets me hyped every time I hear it, makes me feel like better days are coming.
A.M. AM 🖤🖤
HUGE THUMBS UP
one of those few and far between timeless Americana bands
💣💥💥💥 grupazo
Nice
I started listening to these guys last year. Their music sounds like petrichor. I dig.
I got into them when they were the Smith Westerns, which was also an acclaimed act. The dissolution of that band was disappointing, but Whitney made up for it.
Loved your 1st Avenue show in Mpls in Oct. Thanks Josiah-from Amtrak buddy Todd!
Glad you enjoyed the show! It sure was fun!
A bit like Terence Trent d'Arby singing in falsetto at an Eagles concert imagining Abba meeting Simply Red and asking him:
Omg shut up
I like the way you think.
My comment from another live performance of this song. “Wish my dad was still alive. I would play this for him and he probably would have thought it was from his old vinyls. Sounds like Steely Dan, Neil Young, Tower of Power, etc rolled into one. Heard this job hunting online at Panera Bread. And for my age group, Whitney reminds me of Active Child.”
what's better than this? Guys bein dudes
Dudes gonna dude.
I want to be the dude that just gets to play acoustic. Thats so chill hahaha
Oh yeah dialed it in. Way to be sensitive on what sounds work! Looking forward to all the great and unexpectable music from this band.
Heck Yeah !!!!! :)
definitely an underrated band
Plz come to Java Jazz at Jakarta next year, Jay Som already did this year.
I really hope these guys are okay after the pandemic, so many great bands have been disappearing
Just out of curiosity... to you fellow Whitney fans...
*what are your Top 3 Whitney songs?*
1. No Woman 2. Day and Night 3. Daves Song
hell yeah! nice taste in music! love those tracks too.
1. Forever Turned Around

They added another guitar player?
Maxxxx
reeaaallly sexi stuff guys
Anybody know what telecaster model Max is using?
I think it's a Fender Special Run from a few years back, a Roasted Ash '52 Telecaster
@@ruairi_deburca Cheers!
いいぜ。
singer looks like beck bennett
sexi boys
I just realized... I'VE NEVER HEARD MAX SPEAK.
Plays just like Levon. Can't match his voice though ;)
Thought it sounded like Foxwarren
How's this going to work when he hits puberty? 😂
Reminds me of The Band; yes yes
Such a shame that great music like this is dying! If you like Whitney, definitely check out 'Mrs Sunshine' by Syd Sister. We need to find a way to bring good music back!!
I don't think good music is dying. What makes you say that?
good is relative. what's good to you may not be good to someone else.
Brutal
jesus chris put some reverb on those vocals
WHERE’S GOLDEN DAYS
hes not articulate with his talk
its beyond me they dont get a drummer and let him just focus on his singin, he needs focus.
Honestly music is okay. Kind of just a rehash of 70s Americana. I really do not understand how people like that dudes voice. Also stop comparing them to The Band… it’s not gonna happen.
this guy is pretty stoned
I had no idea Elon Musk could sing OR play drums!
This has made me lose confidence in the bands KEXP books
Ok bye
I don’t care much for falsetto voices and I am the only one tired of all this boring dad rock stuff? There’s gotta be something good and new from Paradigm Talent Agency, KEXP.
