I was turned on to Ramin a few weeks ago when they posted Phantom of the Opera for the weekend. What an amazing talent! I am smitten with him. Check out his set at Paste Studio. ua-cam.com/video/wcPg4U1bvP8/v-deo.html
What I love about Ramin's Enjolras is not only that you can see fire in his eyes but there's also hope. Most Enjolras are just angry but this Enjolras looks like he really believes in the revolution!
The most important thing about the actors who play Enjolras is their eyes. Look into their eyes and if you see the burning fire of revolution in there, they are good. Ramin, Michael, Aaron... they all have that special fire in their eyes. Bless them.
Ramin is the best Enjolras in my opinion. There are other good ones, but Ramin exudes so much charisma and enthusiasm that you want to follow him even though you already know how terrible the outcome is.
+Someone I agree, I hated the one in the tenth anniversary of Les Mis, I had to have the subtitles on because I couldn't hear what he was singing. Michael Ball blows Marius out of the water, he was by far the best Marius. Best Marius 1: Michael Ball 2: Eddie 3: Gareth Gates 4: Nick Jonas
@@gabechristensen4241 Valid! Aaron is absolutely phenomenal, for me, I really can't decide between him and Ramin, they both bring something special to the role.
I can't get over 0:40 and how the guy on the left just can't help but break character a little bit due to the joy he's taking in his co-star's performance and intensity. That last-second smile before the camera cuts again is just too cute.
The guy singing is a very talented actor. He was only 26 here. Prior to this concert he has performed almost all the male characters of Les Miserables on stage including Valjean and Javert. Valjean is particularly impressive as he wasn’t even an understudy (an actor they usually reserve to play a role in case the actor actually playing the role is sick/absent) for that, but he was able to sing and perform the role well when the main Valjean actor and both his understudies weren’t available. His name is Killian Donnelly. The guy you were talking about who smiled is Owain Williams
Oh, This is a pure voice! He is a wonderful actor, Ramin Karimloo. I saw him as Gustave Daee in 2004, The Phantom in 2011. I heard him on UA-cam as Gleb Vaganov in Anastasia. May he reign as an angel of music for years to come!
Alfie Bowe was pretty badass in this cast too. But this concert would have been amazing if they lad put a talented singer in the role that Miichael Ball made famous instead of Nick Jonas. He's the only reason I will not buy the 25th anniversary bluray.
This was my first introduction to Ramin. I came to see Lea Salonga, laughed at Nick Jonas.. then Ramin showed up.. and I was like "Wait, hold up. Holy hot hell... who is THAT?!?!"
Enjolaras potrayal of Ramin is not just an anger driven revolutionary ready to fight which most actors do. He is ideology driven with hope of a better future..that is what we see in Ramin's eyes. Fire and hope. That is how Enjolaras is supposed to be.
Pretty much. Ramin = badass Phantom voice. Nick needs lessons from le Fantome. ;-) (Yes, I know this is Les Miz, but I was a Phantom phreak first, and Ramin is "my" Erik. ;-))
He's not the focus of this scene. If he were the center of attention he would be upstaging the others in the scene. He plays well his part and doesn't pretentiously try to make sure he is the top of attention. The fact that he stands to the side as a supporting actor in this scene is actually telling of his talent not irreverent to it.
I was going to play Enjolras for my school’s production. We got cancelled a month before the show because of the epidemic. Watching this is bittersweet; this is one of my favorite stories ever told, and it breaks my heart that we never got our chance to tell it.

I love how the singing grows each time they sing the chorus. First it’s just Enjolras singing, then those on stage join him the second time round, and then the people in the choir join in on the final pass. Its building to a crescendo.....just like freedom does!

Yes!! I want to see him as Javert and as the Beast/prince in Beauty and the Beast, heck let’s throw Gaston in there while we’re at it…
Besides having an excellent voice and this being song that can unite ANYONE, a battle song of sorts, Ramin Karimloo is eye candy!
Why does ramin's enjolras look so emo? Lol he's dressed in mostly black, got the swoopy dark hair, and wearing eyeliner(?)
Hannah K lol! poor Ramin
***** He got his revenge on Hadley in the PoTO Royal Albert Hall performance! By the end of the show Hadley was looking very panda-esque
