Merseyside Transport Trust Open Day 2023

This years open day at the Burscough sheds, a great turn out as always with visitors from around the Northwest and beyond. Starting in the shed looking at work in progress then watching the comings and goings of various buses. There will be a part two to follow with drone footage of the day

My Dad use to work for Crosville as a bus conductor back in the 70s and 80s at the Birkenhead depot, went on many free trips when I was a young lad, Oh happy days

I went on Ribble in about 1983 from Newcastle to Carlisle.I think that it was a Ribble going west and a United coming east as it was a joint service between United and Ribble.Most of United's joint services were with fellow north east company Northern ,too many to count,but they had at least one with Ribble,one with West Yorkshire and I think a few with East Yorkshire plus one with the non NBC Eastern Scottish too.
