Thought those were mine for a minute. Mine were black orange and purple too. lol. Mine are in the machine shop currently. P5007140 is the full casting number. The Mopar performance pn’s were… P5007140- Magnum R/T bare machined cyl head- machined for 1.92” intake/1.625” exhaust P5007141- Magnum R/T bare machined cyl head- machined for 2.02” intake/1.625” exhaust P5007145- Magnum R/T head assembly with 1.92” intake/1.625” exhaust- Includes high performance valves, single springs, and retainers. Unfortunately all those part numbers are Discontinued and no longer available. I was just looking for new valves for mine, just last year MP quit producing the stainless 2.02 intakes.
This is a very informative video about these heads. I have mostly worked on big block mopars but have done port work on a variety of heads and manifolds.
The small heads flow surprisingly well for the valve size. Definitely better compared to the small block Ford 1.78 head. Those R/T heads are on another level completely.
Great vid..it's nice to see a set of factory heads work as well as those can ..makes you want to build a striker with mild cam for pump gas or E=85 and go terrorise the streets 😙😂😂😂😂
I like the thinking. Mild is pretty subjective. LMAO! Do you remember the TV show where they did a Magnum 5.9 and just added a stroker kit to a 408 & nothing else…. Now add these heads. Then add a cam. A short duration (that’s also subjective!) and a lot of lift.
I have 2 sets of these RT heads one off the 402 Mopar crate with the 2.02 intake and a set of 7140s with the 1.92 intakes. Mopar claimed 180cc runners.
If you would consider selling the small valved set, let Charlie know and he could get a hold of me as he has my email. I am hoping you would want the large valved set to have Charlie do his port magic. If you are keeping both sets, I would understand.
@@servediocylinderheads400? Probably make 500 with those R/T heads a bowl blend with the right cam and the right combo. Depending on how good you get the ports and how much material is in them maybe 550-600 horse with 2.02, or 2.05in 1.6exh and some porting a single plane intake and and a 850-950 Holley and a solid roller cam similar setup to my chev.
Ok - maybe these are what I should be shopping for. If you have a set, you have my email. Otherwise, where do I start my shopping? Are these to be found on some junk yard motors of 318 vehicles that say RT or were these only a Mopar parts replacement? I want to search the best haystacks first to find that “needle “. Would I need to measure and provide new pushrods or will original LA stock 318 push rods work?
I thought I was pretty clear on this in my opening statements. But I’ll repeat it for clarity. No problem! Any MoPar vehicle that is a R/T model, like the Durango, does NOT have R/T heads. Period. Never did the factory release a vehicle with these heads on the engine. These MoPar R/T heads are factor parts to be purchased over the counter . Ether at a MoPar desk (dealership) or through Jegs/Summit, etc…. I very much so highly doubt you’ll ever find these in a junkyard. But never say never! These heads are super hard to find. IMO, MoPar did t get the word out and, as well, they were a bit pricey vs the competition. Eat of luck on your hunt!!!! May you find a good set.
Thanks. You did make that very clear in the video… sorry that I got so excited about these head that I forgot that part. I should have watched that video twice so I can remember better. You guys indeed to a great job at being very clear and very educational. I just got way ahead of myself. I think I will attend that Mopar swap meet in Indianapolis in late winter/early spring and see if anyone there can help me find a pair. Last year I didn’t know these existed, so I didn’t look for them. Lots of big block Mopar stuff there for the big time gear heads!
Glad to see you back! Hopefully you have been working on mission impossible stuff for DV.
I have, deep down the rabbit hole! Stay tuned.

Very cool. Good to see Charlie has resurfaced! Always look forward to your videos.
Thanks! Not dead!
They certainly made a lot of different castings over the years.

I am glad you like it. Thanks
Thanks Rob and Charlie, I'll be keeping an eye out for these. Very nice
I would. Thanks
These are super hard to find. As luck had it, the fella that had these was up for a trade. So parts went a flyin across the country.
Of course we missed you!
Thanks!

I have heard of the r/t heads but i wasn't sure they really existed!
Pretty sure they do, how plentiful???

Just send them to me. Thanks
I would like a set ported and have been looking for someone

Just seen your message sent my contact info to you @@servediocylinderheads
Should be using those on the mission impossible project and port them up and do some chamber work along with your best manifold to suit.
They will make over 400hp just as they are. Thanks

@@brentonk461ismylostaccount You bet!
Taking the lip off of the intake going into the chamber would do wonders there.
A good cleanup, and these will rock.
Charlie is back!
Reports of my death were slightly exaggerated!
👍💪
Thank you sir
You are welcome.
Nice Charlie
Thanks

They are not on rt 318's.
Would they have been for 5.9 magnum 360s? Could they work on an LA 318 or am I barking up the wrong tree. Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

I keep hearing 140 heads as the RT heads any truth to that
That is what the casting number is.
The RT is a much better head fosho
The prp is terrible on those heads
No kidding. Thanks
