An outstanding documentary about the great architect Pugin. I did not know of him until seeing a suggested video here on YT. Sad that his accomplishments were not truly appreciated during his lifetime, but as the narrator says, his work reshaped what England looks like today, so in that way, this outstanding architect is immortalized.
Thank you for making a documentary on such an amazing person. The World is in a desperate need of morality and architecture inspired by Pugin certainly infuses it with it. Thank you for uploading.
Great work on this doc thank you
Excellent, thanks for the information. Well done!!
Thank you
Very interesting documentary, thank you for uploading it. Would love a similar documentary on Spanish architec Antonio Gaudi, his life and fantastic work.
Oh I love the Mc of the film .He's just cute ,tall ,big ...I love the conversation between him and the vica ,the vica's just handsome too .I love him best the moment he lose a little his balance when his leg touch a certain tomb outside the church .Oh, remember me to him .Thank you so much
Thank you for posting this great documentary. Much appreciated!
Pugin would turn in his grave if he could see the edifice now constructed next to the Palace of Westminster - the truly dreadful Portcullis House, which is nothing more than a dire intrusive facade.
Lovely doc, thank you!
My lord! Well put! Big Ben makes you proud to be British and as a Yankee I'm not jealous. No. Our country had many reasons to be of monumental aid to Britain during world war II and undoubtedly Big Ben (and alot of other architecture in England) was far to great and I dare say too sacred to lose to some psychopaths Nazi bomb. I know we have no claim to Britain but I like to think we are closest to being alike in values and principles.
I first heard of Pugin when reading an early Thomas Hardy novel.
Pugin should be canonised a saint
why no part two and three ?
They’re not available on some devices :
These can be cellular phones, video game consoles or set-top boxes.
Man, I wish we could have Pugin back, just so he could right a review of the absolutely horrific modern architects/architecture whose reputation BBC seems desperate to revive.
