Imagine if in the time you set up your phone to film this someone just took the dress
They wouldn’t. This dress been hanging there. Unfortunately most people won’t recognize a quality if it beat them in the head with it…
@@miss0petersburg did you stock the store? How do you know it wasn't stuck out that morning 🤣
It’s actually gianni Versace which is the original and best in my opinion of Versace clothing, vintage couture ,beautiful ❤
Meanwhile my goodwill tries to sell the bag lettuce comes in for a dollar 🙄
Yep. The ones in Charlotte think everything they get is “vintage” and they charge whatever they want.
I found an $8000 Birkin bag in a thrift store and bought it for $6.99. I took it home and promptly put it on eBay. I sold it so that the shelter where I volunteer could replace their hot water heater and furnace.
That is such a lucky find ! and you did such a kind thing with the money you made from it.
@@eily_b you’d be amazed what people get rid of and they don’t know it’s value or don’t care, I found a $4000 solid silver hand engraved buckle crocodile leather belt at my local thrift store for $10. I just bought it because I thought it was cute, but when I got it home and started cleaning it close up I realized it was really nice…I googled it, it was a collectors item!
@@eily_b My husband is a manager at a thrift store and finds amazing things. You'd be amazed at the hidden gems people donate to thrift stores
@@jo-eo9ld Honestly, unless you've gotten it appraised, a lot of fakes end up in thrift stores. In my experience.
The real unbelievable part about this story is someone out there has so much money their dropping Gianni Versace off at the Goodwill store!! That’s nuts!
Probably a hoarder like I am. lol I’m still trying to donate, some still in boxes, & brand new. It’s a terrible habit. 😣
Not just Versace, it’s GIANNI VERSACE, u have been blessed!!!!!!!!!! So jealous ❤❤❤❤
@@Letisia-qb8cf You obviously don't know any thing about fashion. What that girl found equates to finding the golden needle in a haystack. Not only is it Versace which would make it way under value at $17 but its Gianni Versace meaning it came from a Gianni Versace collection from the early 90s before Gianni died. That $17 dollar thrift store dress is probably worth a full years ride to a college of her choice.
@@Aphrael76legally blonde moment 🔥 big facts tho, read the girly down and educated her
@@Aphrael76 i’m pretty sure they said $117 not $17, which is still relatively a steal but
…not to mention that Gianni Versace was killed years and years ago. That’s one of his pieces of art.
My mom found a perfect Burberry trench coat for $10! She snatched it up, paid for it and got the heck out of there! It is such a beautiful coat!
That is freaking awesome!!! A Burberry Trench is classic and will hold value if it's well cared for. That's a major score 🏆
@@ProdiG96 whenever i find something really good i always get anxious the employees will tell me i cant buy it at check out! Hasn't happened to me but to my aunt & uncle a year or two ago at Value Village.
I had a similar thing happen at my local thrift store with a pair of shoes. They weren't worth thousands. But a $400 pair of Fluevogs for $7. They looked barely worn.
Even without the branding, it's such a beautiful dress that I'd definitely would buy
This is how it is. The nice stuff that gets left is a size most people can’t fit.
It won’t fit her but she can easily sell it to someone it does fit. Like a very slender size 6
I found a $1500 Chanel bag at Goodwill. It was a discount day, so I paid about $4. I love a good thrift store.
I found a Burberry overcoat at a Goodwill and everything was half off that day 😀. It doesn't rain much where I live, but who cares. 😒
My dad just started thrifting
He’s found nothing but designer suits
Great find
I got a Hermes Burkin bag for $20 at a Salvation Army, with original purchase docs, certified with Hermes in SF. Thrift stores are the new treasure maps.
I can’t believe someone would just “dump” a bag like that off at goodwill ?! 😮
@cjhoward409 my hand to God it is the truth, even had the card in the purse from Hermes in San Fran cert of authenticity that matched the leather patch on inside of bag. I now keep it in a safety deposit box. Hubby wo t let me use it , worrying it'll get snatched..
@cjhoward409 Also at a thrift store in the small town, we live in my son found Vintage Altec Lansing speakers that sounded amazing for $50, He sold on eBay for $800. Have proof of that too.. Keep eyes opened at thrift stores sometimes they don't know what they have.
@@drjewlsy
Oh I believe you, but it’s still hard to imagine someone being so filthy stinkin rich that they would drop off a $5,000 + bag at a thrift store. Most folks would resell online or sell to a consignment store. It’s a rarity. Good on you for finding it 😁👍🏻
@cjhoward409 believe it or not this one is 10k+ resale according to Hermes. It's my kid's inheritance. LOL
Love the feeling when thrifting, "I can afford anything in this store!"
awesome! i once found these brass candle holders for like 2 bucks. turns out theyre worth 800 each!
we love holding our breath at the checkout hoping they don’t realize their mistake ❤
The cashier's so not care. Lol wtf. Most make minimum wage which is 7. 15 in my state.
worked at a goodwill. $1,000 ish balenciaga skirt sold for $13. i love that they have some high end stuff for cheap. everyone deserves nice clothes 🖤
edit: y’all im not saying balenciaga looks good or is great quality i’m just saying everyone deserves high end fashion if they want it…
It’s so rare to find something awesome at a good price at that god forsaken store 😂 I’m so happy for her, go girl 🙌🏼
I have found Jimmy Choo ankle boots and Via Spiga tall boots at my local Goodwill, $8ish each. 😊
Run to the register. Run! RUN!!!
That baby would be going on a nice seamstress dress form in my bedroom. What a work of art! I couldn’t fit in that either haha looks like it would fit a 90s Kate moss 😂
Where I live, the only clothes I can find in thrift stores are $11 second hand ones similar to brand new ones that I can get for $20 at Winners.
That is how Seattle is too. There are definitely no Versace anywhere at Goodwill or Value Village.
I love thrifting! Not just a Versace but a Gianni, great find. I was in a Versace store once and couldn’t even afford a scarf, lol. My biggest score was a $3500 full length mink fur coat for $90 that fit like a glove.
It definitely looked better on the original owner....the Mink!! Shame on you. 😢
@@ashleymoon2969 excuse you? The original owner didn’t want it anymore obviously, their loss, my gain. And the reason all those tiny little minks lost their lives to begin with at a price tag of $3500. So if anything, their lives weren’t lost in vain because now they will still be appreciated and worn every winter. Try living through an Eastern Canadian winter and see how cold YOU get. Never mind, you’re probably of the younger Prius driving generation anyways.
Must suck to be so hateful sometimes eh? Go throw your can of red paint at someone else.
🤷♀️🤣👋🇨🇦
@@ashleymoon2969 I bet you’d really hate my full length raccoon coat I got for FREE at a yard sale at the end of the day in July too? Or my Persian lambs wool/mink swing coat I got for $14.99 at ValuVillage? Or how about the one that my senior patient that passed away’s family left me because they knew I’d appreciate it more than any one?
Up your ziggy with a wah wah brush paint thrower.
Thank you to the beautiful woman who brought this to goodwill when she could have given it to a friend or even thrown it out. It’s women like her that give people like thrifters the thrill of a lifetime in just a moment like this
Too bad she brought it to goodwill. They are for profit corp. Any profit they get is a crime as they try to pass themselves off as a charity.
I wouldn't care if it fit I would just hang it in my closet and every time I open the door I would be like "Yeah" lmao
That dress is from 92 collection, it’s with about $9800. Not quite $13k but what a find. Someone in the thrift store is a dumb dumb for putting that out for that price 😂
I would say it's quite cleaver as it clearly gets people to really go through the stores. In my country (or at least city) you would never find something like that dress and so less people are trifting. If we could get finds like that it would be great marketing for the shoppes and more people would be interested, for sure 😊 It's just my perspective, anyway 😊
It’s a thrift item…. That’s the fun part of shopping thrift… amazing finds at unbelievable prices…. 😊
They aren't dumb lmao it's a second-hand store. That's why it's important to thrift in big cities and/or rich neighborhoods.
@@OliviaBaeBy makes no difference if it’s a “rich” neighborhood. These big chain thrift stores send everything to a distribution center to sort.
I am so jealous. It's a Gianni Versace and that is a sexy dress. I wanted and still want one of his dresses. He was the best designer then and since.
You found it at Value Village, they sometimes have good things there. It's now a hit or miss. I love thrift store so I know.
Thrift haul of the century!
I make myself beautiful things like that and put my tag in and say oh my gosh it’s a ShariB design😂🥳. AND…It fits me like a glove!
Holy smokes what a find!! Even if it doesn’t fit, you can resell it.
Someone was sleeping at the controls that day because they put all their “primo” stuff on their auction website or their boutique store (if your city has them).
Youd be truly amazed at what you can find in thrift shops. I just found a pair of vintage oscar de la renta slipper shoes that were probably worn twice. They retaled for over $600. I got them for $3.
I’m guessing you need to “Thrift” in a really nice area of your town, to find designer treasures like this.
I was happy to find torrid dresses😊thats awesome!!!but i found Chanel,Versace and louise vuitton purse at the thrift!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Goodwill I worked at had managers that would ensure nothing valuable would actually make it to the floor. It would go to the auction site.
The managers pocketed a lot of merch, too. I found crack rocks in a makeup bag- and we'll just say they took the opportunity to dispose of it themselves;)
No matter the price.. I bet you look amazing in it...
BUY IT! You can RESALE if you don’t want it for yourself
Exactly that is what I would do or just hang it on my wardrobe door and worship it every day lol x
It’s amazing!! So happy for you, what a Diamond
It’s beautiful
Shes really pretty. She deserves it. Girls should have nice things.
THIS IS SOOOO EVERYTHING 😍 OH MY GOSH I WOULD GIVE MY SOUL FOR THIS.. i don’t even care about the price it’s just such a beautiful piece of work 😭
Stunning find!!❤❤❤
There's no way you found that at a goodwill. They take all the name brand stuff and put it on their website. Whoever sorted that didn't do their job and you got EXTREMELY lucky!
@@EllieBee60 ok ya never worked for savers I don't know their sorting process! But if your looking for name brand items from goodwill they sell them for lil more on their website but still very discounted.
@@psilocybebae7106
No you’re right, Savers does that too. They probably planted it unfortunately for the video views. That sweet sweet monetization money. I hope Im wrong, but Im sure they do that for Savers too. 😅 I had community service back in the day lol.
They go thru everything with a fine toothed comb. Unless these 2 ladies live in a super wealthy area and the store gets a crazy influx of expensive items like this…. Idk I would honestly still think this to be a fake.
I agree. Someone would be stupid to leave a designer dress there. It’s a set up for the camera.
@louisepowell6939 It is quite possible to find designer items at second hand stores.
Yes brand names cost way more. Started many years ago they miss a few but they are all used should be same price for each type of item. They got greedy they get the items for free.
Thats def a real vintage piece and especially, if its by Gianni Versace 💯 Very Nice!!
I hope you bought this! Amazing find! If you did get it and can’t fit it or have anyone to give it to… meeee :)
Omg! Nice!! I hope you bought it!!
As someone trying to declutter my home, you’d be surprised at what I’m willing to donate just to not have to deal with the headache of reselling it. Plenty of people in similar situations, especially if you consider that they may be cleaning out a deceased loved one’s home. Sure, they might know the name, but if they’re going through hundreds of items, are they even looking at the tags? The problem with my decluttering is that every time I drop off, I also go in and look 😂. I’ve actually gotten some really good deals. A $200 coat, seemingly NWOT condition, for less than $10.
I worked in thrift for years..we saw furs, jewels, art work, very valuable antiques, designer bags and shoes come through our stores weekly. We didn't give them away but we did price so that the buyer could find a treasure and a very discounted price.
I would get the label checked....If it's real that's amazing...I collect St. John knit wear couture and the copies are incredible I have had some that I took for authentication and was fake so I wear them.
What a gorgeous dress omg
Are you crazy girl?! I hope that you bought it even if it’s just to own it! What a fantastic find! Or go on a series, died and squeeze into it. Lol! I would, lol! It’s absolutely stunning. Happy shopping girls!
Oh holy shit its gorgeous.
I’d resell the shit out of that and pay for summer activities for the kids that I’m debating on because of cost. Fuck a dress. We have real things to pay for. Like keeping kids sane in summer and by extension ourselves.
Hopefully you put it back if you couldn’t fit it. I remember growing up poor before resell culture and the only store we could afford to go to were thrift stores. I enjoyed it because it was a time where we could sometimes find really nice clothes for dirt cheap and could still feel normal especially being in high school. I know resellers are trying to make a living too but I wish some people would just be a little more mindful, not everything needs to be a profit . I make a good amount of money now and still thrift but I don’t need to cherry pick all of the good stuff out of the store. I know there are people who actually need it and I can just get the original now lol.
I got my son a pair of Versace jean shorts for $3 @ a goodwill around 2012.
If you know a little sewing techniques, by buying similar fabric you could actually extend the dress from the sides or from the back 😊❤
I found a Gucci dress in my local store not to long ago. I wanted to cry because it was the wrong size. But, I was consoled by the fact I picked up a Celine coat for a steal several years ago.
You would look fantastic in that dresssss, we would like to see it!!!!!!!!!!
Doesn’t look like it would fit possibly stretchy but hope you bought it anyways! What a find
How did you determine the value??
@@alannasporer5076 yes but I’m asking about that dress specifically. Not all Versace items will be the same price
If you figure out what year it's from you can determine the value are checking online their are sites that will tell you, or if you can find the same dress being sold in like ebay you can use that as a starter point. It's a 90s dress which A. Is back in style now and B. Is considered "vintage" which is a plus especially since it has Gianni's name on it and he is now gone and they don't put his name on the clothes anymore.. It's probably worth a pretty penny.
Great find indeed but I hope these type of clips and videos don't give local thrift stores the audacity to keep hiking up the prices on those used, donated clothes.
Nice!
I love "thrifting" . Moving to Palm Springs cannot wait to hit those thrift stores
Thats is really nice but if you can't wear it, I would buy any way to resell it. So, we wait to see if it was a fit. Homecoming and proms coming soon.
Even if i couldnt fit it id buy it and resell it cause its vintage.thats a big come up
That’s ready to wear Versace~ not couture.
So $13K is rather high. Like remove a zero.
Beautiful dress. I hope you bought it.
Resale on that is excellent
That’s something Carrie Bradshaw would wear during a Big break up while she’s meeting him for drinks and food at some bougie 5 star restaurant while she lies to Miranda about being done with him lol!
Love thrift stores.... GREAT VALUE.... can't EVER afford it otherwise....!!!😊❤
It's only worth what someone will pay for it not 13,000.
I would have bought it and gifted it to a senior high school girl in a small town (i happen to travel to several small towns in my area) grew up along the coast of Oregon it would have been awesome to gift to a girl who otherwise would have had to settle for way less. ❤❤❤ great score 👏 👍
And it’s Gianni Versace label
Too ✨💙
People getting excited over see-through clothing is the “is this real life” moment I never had.
Gianni Versace !! Worth more than Just Versace !
The first and only time Goodwill didn’t overprice something!
Awesome score!!! Gotta love the thrift store . . .
My goodwill always gives me most of my items for free or at a discount because I’m always donating too when I come 🥰

I have never been to a thrift but man 😂 I like vintage clothes I just don’t see myself looking for hours 😂
I didn't think I'd do that either. But the first visit, I scored Ralph Lauren lady trousers for $5.99. Classic, timeless. Later I found another RL piece, a blazer. Neutral color. Huge find! I love my goodwill! I'm officially a thrifter!
