This guy has quite an acting resume under his belt. He played Childs on The Thing, he voiced Atlas on Teen Titans, Chaos in Dissidia Final Fantasy, and this guy, Dr. Facilier, the Shadow Man. It seems Keith David is always being type-cast as the cool character.

Voodoo borrow a lot from Christian mythology when it was brought to them, but is still it's own religion), it's more akin to karma.

This song is like Be Prepared.
It's catchy, memorable, has an amazing singer and is literally the one thing people will always remember.
Jeremy Irons isn't that good of a singer, most of Scar's lines were sung-spoken.
But yeah, Be Prepared was great.
This is a phenomenal Disney villain song. And I really think that "hush" at the end topped it all off.
Disney is scared of making disney villains scary now.. Like, hellfire was terrifying but now they wont even say demons, its "friends of the other side". Still an amazing villain song, it just radiates evil ^.^

Well, Facilier isn't supposed to be terrifying in the way that Frollo is, either. He's at heart a supernatural con-man. You're supposed to be able to like the guy, to admire him, even as you pray to God he doesn't decide he doesn't like you.

The funny thing about Keith David doing this is that, in "The Thing" (the 1982 original), his character says "I just cannot believe this voodoo bullsh*t" several times.

Keith David is a god among men and I will hear no disagreements. By the way, if you really want to hear one of his more chilling or even scarier at times performances, watch the animated Spawn series (HBO) from the late 90s.

I just saw The Princess and the Frog today and I have to say, this song was the highlight of the movie for me.
You think the song's cool, you should see the visuals! Creepy shadows and possessed voodoo masks, I love it!

Facilier really is Disney's greatest villain.
He is honestly the coolest villan next to Scar from Lion King. He wasn't "magically powerful" like the witch from Snow White, he actually had an extent and when he took to much for granted, died. He proves a great point to kids young, and even elderly.

Alan Smith I think this is better because you can tell it's a villain song right away, but Hellfire builds up with suspense. In the movie, Hellfire is better, but in general, Friends on the Other Side is better.

One thing I think is impressive with this movie, all the actors sing their parts. No dubbing with singers. That is a rarity where in most Disney movies, the singing parts at least partially or in whole are dubed by other singers.
