04:40 - This pass, guiding Monte where to go and then literally dropping the ball in the bucket - between two defenders - while both he and Monte are on the run - is what has Bears fans so excited.
He's just got to improve his short passing game. I imagine that will improve with better protection.

Fields is getting the ball out of his hands much faster so far - so much so that the defense doesn't have time to react. It's how Moore and Herbert got those two long YAC touchdowns.

You all have to look at how effortlessly he throws those long passes. He has an arm! You also have to understand that Bears haven’t had a QB with an arm like that in years! Cutler had that arm and thats about it. Fields is probably the 3rd best QB, bears ever had in their entire history behind Luckman and Cutler in terms of skills and he could pass them both

There were 30 passes on this highlight reel. By my estimates, Fields had a clean pocket on 15 of them. On 15 he faced some kind of pressure, 4 of which were instant pressures where a lineman whiffed or a rusher was coming free. So he was pressured half the time and still made good things happen. Get this man an oline and see him shine!

    • @Jamezy316

He was rushed on 55% of his drop backs, thats the worst in the NFL by far. People forget they would have the worst ranked OLine with the most sacks by FAR if it werent for Fields. He's avoided 30+ sacks(that with any other QB or pocket QB would be sacks) and turned them into positive plays, 1st downs, and TD. Which in turn makes the OLine look far better on paper, 30+sacks that should be on the OLines stat sheet, instead on paper goes down as good protection by the OLine on paper, when it should say "Fields saved their asses" LMAO. The very very very few times he actually gets protection, and his WR get open, he plays and throws like a MVP QB. He has one of the best deep balls ive seen, when he gets time and can step into the throw, he'll throw a 50 yard bomb that land perfectly in the WRs hands in stride. He's made throws that if the ball landed anywhere else, even inches in a different spot it incomplete, intercepted, over/under thrown. Yet bumb ass Bears fans want to trash him.... SMH

The amount of times he gets hit and doesn’t hat calls like half the hits he takes would be a ruffing the passer for almost any other qb

Our pass protection was so bad, teams rushing 4 would get pressure like they rushed 5-6. Thank god we took Darnell wright and got Nate Davis in FA, that side of the line was about a protective as a screen door with holes in it

Now what we need is a dropped ball compilation for the season. Poor dude had so many DIMES that were dropped. How he kept us in some of these games is beyond me. Our roster had no business competing as well as we did. That velus drop at 2:21 was a common occurrence every game. And let’s not forget smith-Marsette letting Dantzler yank the ball away like a man robbing an old lady’s purse when Justin was putting together a great drive.
Can’t wait to see how our new roster does this year, it’s light years beyond what we had this season, Justin is gonna be noticeably more confident throwing to actual WRs

Based on these nukes and the improvised plays against the 9ers and Falcons, you’d think he we was a superstar QB. People hate on him, but these are not throws that a back up or journeyman QB makes more than once or twice over the course of a season, let alone this often. It’s certainly not the kind of play a glorified running back in the wrong position would make. I’m not saying he is a superstar, cause he’s not. He still has a ton to improve on, such as game winning drives and decision making, but people never seem to acknowledge the massive amount of potential he has.
