Hi Nelson, posted this to Twitt... Fun video. Love hookbill birds, breed them for a business when younger, Feather Fantasy. She had 3 acres of flight pens so it kept me busy. Thanks PC! I knew you would identify it. This is the second time in a week that an orchid collector identifies the cordigera incorrectly. I began doubting my cordigera was a cordigera. Lol! To me it’s easy to identify because it one of the largest flowers in the Encyclia family. Plus it has that big lip.

Hey Nell it's me again jajaja, the Orchid Lass don't have I'd in 17:25 it's a Broughtonia sanguinea specie's from Jamaica like I mentioned I'm from Honduras 🇭🇳 however I live in Cayman islands and there's a Botanical Gardens honoring Queen Elizabeth and there's a small section of orchid and they have that same one there. Hopefully I'll help Lass get and ID 👀👀👀

Orchid collection is awesome. Ask Laz what type of screening he is using. Is it a special type so that the orchids do not get burned? Even with the trees it seems the mid day sun would be scorching if the screen does not have shade factor.
You vuys are so funny. I laughed so much with the bird story. Samething happened to me, few months back I was gifted a "male" lovebird called Lorito or Josue...well Josue ended up giving me 6 eggs, now we call her Lorita and Josefa ...lol That bulbo graveolens OMG that is a beauty, those leaves are beautiful! Love your set-up Laz ! So Jealous of ALL the Florida growers who can keep everything growing outside. Here in Memphis (currently 101 degrees) it's too HOT & my Orchids are struggling... even the Vandas ! also. having the green room attached to your home where you can enjoy from the A/C is a Dream. I really miss my glasshouse :'(
Make sure you feed with Cal Magic every week with a 1/2 teaspoon per gallon. This helps sustain the moisture in the leaves and keeps them from suffering. Do this only during the heavy summer season.
That pink cluster of orchids that Laz got as a present looks like a Broughtonia sanguinea or something of that specie. Lovely as usual Laz. I enjoyed the visit.😍
Good morning, Nelson. Truly loved this video. Laz's home is classy, and the plants are fabulous. I kept wondering the whole time out in the green room about how he waters and fertilizes. I did not see an irrigation system in place. I was also amazed at the regular screening overhead, but it certainly works for everything he grows, and he grows a lot of beautiful plants. The field trip to the fish farm was so much fun. My husband and I had fish tanks for years and when our son got into the saltwater aquarium it was a whole new world. Then came a small fishpond in our yard. It is gone now, it was too much maintenance, and the birds, cats, algae and racoons were challenging. I do miss the serenity it provided though. You have a terrific best friend. Thanks for taking us along. Loved it!
We live aquariums. I grew up with aquariums all my life. Both fresh and saltwater tanks. By the way he waters once a week thoroughly and he has misters that go on twice a day.
Hey Nell love the videos has always, 16:50 the Encyclia that Lass showing has condigera I don't think is the full specie's however the one you put in the photo is and they range from deference color but still having a big lip, Lass Encyclia is probably a hybrid.

Thank you I water once a week thoroughly and the misters to maintain 2 times a day.I do use a calcium filter on the lines for the misting system. And everything is setup with a timer.
Hi your encyclia is Cordigera, Laz’s is not. Cordigera has one of largest lips in Encyclia. But not too sure what Laz has , but it looks great either way :)
He is resisting moving to a bigger space. He is still very young. His orchids are healthy and growing fast. He’s gonna have to face his conundrum once everything is overgrown. Will he give some orchids away? Or will he move to a bigger space? Inquiring minds want to know🥺
O boy, you both need to start exercising bit more or you won't fit in the orchid room anymore,or is it the lens on your camera !?! 🤪 😊 🤗 The inset picture of your encicleya is indeed cordigera, a species. Laz's is not. Tchumpy is so cute, used to breed these parrots many years ago. It's is evident on the ead shape and beak that it's a female, at least for me. I studied them for a few weeks in Gambia, Africa. They love sweet peppers and fresh beans in their pods, this gives them something to do. for fruit they just love papaya, grapes and chunks of pomegranate and mango. To give them some extra vitamins and minerals, regularly give willow twigs, with leaves. Love his setup but the room is getting quite full. I remember I was the same but now I only have around 200 orchids left. Seems like you've had a good day. Loved and enjoyed it, a lot !!!!!
I know nothing about parrots. Laz is the one that has been working with rescues here and there since I’ve known him. He rescued all his pets. As for the orchids, he and I will never stop collecting. Lol! I already told him to consider building a second floor. Lol! I’m sure there will come a time he may have to either reduce orchids to purchase more, or not buy anymore. This time around I did tell him I found everything to have grown out immensely so in a couple of years his orchids will grow into each other. He may have to keep some at my place. Tee hee 😬
@@naturenel Give the parrot info to Laz, He will appreciate it, I think. I had a huge collection of different African parrot species that I bred, years ago. As for orchids, one never has enough, up to the point one can't care well anymore. It well may be a good idea to move some to your trees though! LOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love your set-up Laz ! So Jealous of ALL the Florida growers who can keep everything growing outside. Here in Memphis (currently 101 degrees) it's too HOT & my Orchids are struggling... even the Vandas ! also. having the green room attached to your home where you can enjoy from the A/C is a Dream. I really miss my glasshouse :'(
Make sure you feed with Cal Magic every week with a 1/2 teaspoon per gallon. This helps sustain the moisture in the leaves and keeps them from suffering. Do this only during the heavy summer season.

Good morning, Nelson. Truly loved this video. Laz's home is classy, and the plants are fabulous. I kept wondering the whole time out in the green room about how he waters and fertilizes. I did not see an irrigation system in place. I was also amazed at the regular screening overhead, but it certainly works for everything he grows, and he grows a lot of beautiful plants. The field trip to the fish farm was so much fun. My husband and I had fish tanks for years and when our son got into the saltwater aquarium it was a whole new world. Then came a small fishpond in our yard. It is gone now, it was too much maintenance, and the birds, cats, algae and racoons were challenging. I do miss the serenity it provided though. You have a terrific best friend. Thanks for taking us along. Loved it!
We live aquariums. I grew up with aquariums all my life. Both fresh and saltwater tanks. By the way he waters once a week thoroughly and he has misters that go on twice a day.

Hey Nell love the videos has always, 16:50 the Encyclia that Lass showing has condigera I don't think is the full specie's however the one you put in the photo is and they range from deference color but still having a big lip, Lass Encyclia is probably a hybrid.
I agree. That’s why I told him it may be a hybrid with cordigera. Besides the cordigera is twice the size of most Encyclias.

Thank you I water once a week thoroughly and the misters to maintain 2 times a day.I do use a calcium filter on the lines for the misting system. And everything is setup with a timer.

Hi your encyclia is Cordigera, Laz’s is not. Cordigera has one of largest lips in Encyclia. But not too sure what Laz has , but it looks great either way :)

He is resisting moving to a bigger space. He is still very young. His orchids are healthy and growing fast. He’s gonna have to face his conundrum once everything is overgrown. Will he give some orchids away? Or will he move to a bigger space? Inquiring minds want to know🥺

The inset picture of your encicleya is indeed cordigera, a species. Laz's is not.
Tchumpy is so cute, used to breed these parrots many years ago. It's is evident on the ead shape and beak that it's a female, at least for me. I studied them for a few weeks in Gambia, Africa. They love sweet peppers and fresh beans in their pods, this gives them something to do. for fruit they just love papaya, grapes and chunks of pomegranate and mango. To give them some extra vitamins and minerals, regularly give willow twigs, with leaves.
Love his setup but the room is getting quite full. I remember I was the same but now I only have around 200 orchids left.

I know nothing about parrots. Laz is the one that has been working with rescues here and there since I’ve known him. He rescued all his pets. As for the orchids, he and I will never stop collecting. Lol! I already told him to consider building a second floor. Lol! I’m sure there will come a time he may have to either reduce orchids to purchase more, or not buy anymore. This time around I did tell him I found everything to have grown out immensely so in a couple of years his orchids will grow into each other. He may have to keep some at my place. Tee hee 😬

As for orchids, one never has enough, up to the point one can't care well anymore. It well may be a good idea to move some to your trees though! LOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
