I think the saddest thing is that two voice actors died the same way as two death causes in this anime... A car accident and cancer. It's so weird and tragic to know.
Well to be fair, cancer and motor accidents are like the two most common ways people die all around the world, so the coincidence isn't all that unlikely.

Seeing there are still fairly new comments, many from this year makes me happy. This is a legendary show, unknown in this day and age...yet people need to know it existed. Only one other show comes to mind when I think of the most intense emotional ride I've seen in anime....Little Busters. Both deserve a 10.
Still here in 2022! Honestly was going through a mental breakdown 5 minutes ago and thinking of this song made me feel...reassured? Like everyone has their moments where they wish they weren't here and that I am not alone. I don't even really like the vocals but the nostalgia it brings for me is immeasurable and Mitsuki's story is one that stuck with me as a child and gave me comfort and strength. truly a *chef's kiss* anime
The moment, when this song plays and Mitsuki wants to die on Eichi-kuns grave... One of the most heartbreaking moments in the history of film making. So sad, it is impossible to bear!

Something makes me incredibly happy to see an anime video from 2006 untouched and intact after all this time. It's like a time capsule in a way. And such a beautiful song from such a beautiful anime.
I think I (finally) watched the ending when I was at a stage where I was (still) really emotionless and refused to cry (especially if there's someone near me)......so yeah, it's possible that I actually didn't cry even tho it felt really emotional.........I might not cry if I'm watching while someone is near me but I'll definitely cry if I watch it again

I love this song and the anime. My family thought I was crazy because I cried every time I heard it and saw this video. The saddest part that made me cry the most was when they showed Eichi's grave( sorry if I spelled his name wrong) because I didn't want him to die and I thought of how Mitsuki felt.

I feel like older animes had a lot more uniqueness to them, even the music in it, Same with angelic layer, saiyuki, steel angel kurumi, wedding peach, pretear, idk it seems like a lot of animes feel the same even the theme songs op and ending all sound so similar now. There used to be so much different before, maybe it's nostalgia, but it used to feel more magical.
I absolutely agree. Even in fashion they all felt unique, but now everything is so plain and normal and they all look like the same show. They even did that to Fruits Basket, the new style of it feels the same like every other show....lost its spark I loved from it
Yeah true that I think the uniqueness has died in the humans creativeness hell even anime characters in separate animes look alike not mention all remakes made over a classic not to mention at least back then if you spoke only english at least you could find them its like now a days their biast to english dub can barely find any that come out in english dub expecting to read sub that they speak so fast barely keep up having to rewind again & again not to mention takes away from what is a beautiful picture cause your stuck relegated to keep up reading the text
This is a masterpiece already, no need for a remastered version. Besides, unfortunately, the voice actors for Takuto and Meroko have passed away in 2013. RIP. They were absolutely amazing.

The first anime i watched was Hunter x Hunter with my brother around 12 years old (he said i shouldn't watch once we got to chimera arc though) after that i started getting into Asian culture
Reborn X Master I watched it a year or two later. Although I think that Netflix didn’t have the last episodes and I never picked up after that. It stopped after the guy gets obsessed with winning board games.
i read the manga when i was 10 and remember feeling really close to mitsuki because we have the same birthday and i was always sick as a child. i’m 23 now and never watched the anime until recently and both versions of the story (they diverge in telling some plot points but end the same way) are so well done. i listened to the music when the anime came out but for some reason never got around to watching it. Tanemura sensei apparently had a hard time writing Mitsuki as she typically writes teenage to older characters but the way Mitsuki acts is so natural which makes the story even harder to bear; it reached me deeply as a child. I love it so much, I feel like I learned the value of wanting to live doing something I love and I’m thankful for this story, this show, and this music. It makes me happy to see so many people also reminiscing on this media; i hope anyone reading this is doing well ❤️

I remember seeing this years ago. I cried like I lost a family member. Had to pause it for like an hour and just cry lol, didn't end there. Then I was depressed for a few days after that. I want another anime that will get me to that level, but haven't been able to find one.
I found this anime on accident because of this song. I fell in love with this anime. I decided to give it a chance and just finished the last episode today. This anime is a master piece and I love the symbolism it has in it throughout it ;3
This was one of the first animes I'd ever watched as well as one of the first mangas I'd ever read. I still remember back in 6th grade reading the chapter when Meroko's past was revealed and how it correlated with the past of Mitsuki's grandma. It was one of the many heart-wrenching moments. Now I'm in college and I still come back to this song every once in a while for some childhood nostalgia ~

I was a little girl when I watched this, probably five. I grew up on anime and the songs from this anime really hit me, I loved them! I'm now 15, well just turned it, and it's so amazing how time flies by. I remember just sitting in my bed and watching it with my Chinese dubbed dvd, even though the songs were still in Japanese! I am so lucky that I was born into a life where I had anime to depend on, I've been through some tough times and it always there for me to watch.
Since then "Eternal snow" are the words most beautiful to me. ♥ I've watched Clannad, I've loved Inuyasha, but as I watched this I just knew it would be my favorite forever and ever. And it became my favorite. Fullmoon wo Sagashite is full of everything. Sorrow, sadness. Yet happiness. It teaches you to cherish your life, whatever happens. To cherish and live your life. And to tell what you want to say. Don't keep it to yourself. But let it go and go on, if you not being able to say something at a certain time seems to have ruined your life. I love this anime ♥

I was still in highschool when i first watched this great series, now im just some 30 y/o man going down a nostalgia trip; truly a classic with one of best soundtracks in anime.
I've been wondering, but why do the characters always die in such a cliche way? They should be going out with a flash or a band or a boom, For example, a meteorite falling down on them from space, or a bazooka being blasted at them. They can also be blown up by a nuclear bomb, catch my drift people?

I just love this song. Whenever I listen to it, I really get sad. It was really a shock to me when I realized that Eichi kun was dead. She fought against all in order to meet him yet on the other end there was only his soul to meet her. The whole anime is heartwarming... Fight Mitsuki chan!!!
Ya..... Y the hell does meroko have to become an angel. And this is just my theory: when U R kissed by an angel you can see the dead, cuz you know at the end mitski can't see them but after meroko kissed her eyes shrunk in shock then she can see meroko.( the dead person that kiss mitski in the first place wuz her parents.
she overcame a similar trauma that led her to take her own life. Instead of wanting to kill herself over takuko because he loves mitsuki, she loves him still and wishes for tauko's happyness.

I feel like older animes had a lot more uniqueness to them, even the music in it, Same with angelic layer, saiyuki, steel angel kurumi, wedding peach, pretear, idk it seems like a lot of animes feel the same even the theme songs op and ending all sound so similar now. There used to be so much different before, maybe it's nostalgia, but it used to feel more magical.

i read the manga when i was 10 and remember feeling really close to mitsuki because we have the same birthday and i was always sick as a child. i’m 23 now and never watched the anime until recently and both versions of the story (they diverge in telling some plot points but end the same way) are so well done. i listened to the music when the anime came out but for some reason never got around to watching it. Tanemura sensei apparently had a hard time writing Mitsuki as she typically writes teenage to older characters but the way Mitsuki acts is so natural which makes the story even harder to bear; it reached me deeply as a child. I love it so much, I feel like I learned the value of wanting to live doing something I love and I’m thankful for this story, this show, and this music. It makes me happy to see so many people also reminiscing on this media; i hope anyone reading this is doing well ❤️

This was one of the first animes I'd ever watched as well as one of the first mangas I'd ever read. I still remember back in 6th grade reading the chapter when Meroko's past was revealed and how it correlated with the past of Mitsuki's grandma. It was one of the many heart-wrenching moments. I was a little girl when I watched this, probably five. I grew up on anime and the songs from this anime really hit me, I loved them! I'm now 15, well just turned it, and it's so amazing how time flies by. I remember just sitting in my bed and watching it with my Chinese dubbed dvd, even though the songs were still in Japanese! I am so lucky that I was born into a life where I had anime to depend on, I've been through some tough times and it always there for me to watch.

I've watched Clannad, I've loved Inuyasha, but as I watched this I just knew it would be my favorite forever and ever.

I just love this song. Whenever I listen to it, I really get sad. It was really a shock to me when I realized that Eichi kun was dead. She fought against all in order to meet him yet on the other end there was only his soul to meet her. The whole anime is heartwarming... Fight Mitsuki chan!!!

And this is just my theory: when U R kissed by an angel you can see the dead, cuz you know at the end mitski can't see them but after meroko kissed her eyes shrunk in shock then she can see meroko.( the dead person that kiss mitski in the first place wuz her parents.
