  • Humans are a species that permanently inhabits every continent on the planet. But just like every other species, we evolved! So where and when did this take place?! And what does our current understanding of evolution mean for how humans will continue to evolve?
The Advanced Apes is a new channel examining the evolving story of science. We believe that exploring our current understanding of science and its historical context can help us better understand where it's leading us. And it can help us tackle some of life's biggest questions. So please join us in the discussion!

Some videos WRONGLY says some of us have between 1 and 4% neanderthal DNA. No! It's 1 to 4% of their GENE EXPRESSION. Gene expression resides in the secondary biological code called the EPIGENOME. Its actions are called EPIGENETICS. Neanderthals were homo sapiens with mere gene expression modifications for adaptation to their environment. No evolving DNA mutations are involved here! No evolution engine is engaged. Logistically, this fits an intelligent design signature. As it turns out, Darwin Finches get their beak shapes from these epigenetic-derived adaptations.
Actual tabulation of DNA differences show they were 99.84% identical to us...only a 00.16% difference. You cannot get 1 to 4% from 00.16%! Evolutionists! Get your head out of your asses! With a sleight of hand, evolutionists have combined TWO biological codes and pass them off as being just one. It's all smoke and mirrors!
Sorry. Evolution is not happening. All of the 'examples' of adaptations to changed environments, diets, or threats are from a pre-enabled already-present biological system called the EPIGENOME.
It works by gene MODIFICATION largely by methylation, not by natural selection of DNA mutations. The bottom line is adaptations are pre-enabled AND happen within the genome's created boundaries. Not evolution going outside of boundaries by natural selection of mutations happening upon new beneficial DNA configurations. In fact, in this light, natural selection has been selecting these epigenome-derived adaptations. This gives an intelligent design signature. Not the Godless one of the evolutionary theory.
These were wrongly called 'microevolution'. Natural selection has been actually selecting these epigenome-derived adaptations. Then this faux cornerstone into the mind-constructs of 'macroevolution' were used as a sleight of hand into making evolution seem believable.
Modifications vs. mutations are big in their differences. A pre-enabled epigenome and its MATERALLY FOUNDED 3RD ASPECT OF EPIGENETICS logistically has an intelligent design signature.
The Godless-spinned theory of evolution by genome degeneration into evolutionary generation is laid bare here as absurd comic book science.
We are from an intelligent design by Jesus Christ. His sacrifice on the cross was payment for OUR sins as we are imputed with 100% purity in exchange for our faith in it along with belief in his resurrection gives a FREE GIFT of eternal life. Do it today! Evolution is not an answer to our existence. God is, however.

Jennifer Turner Yes! In a way, you are completely correct! We do direct our own evolution via the process of selective breeding. We consciously, or subconsciously, choose a mate with the attributes we would like to be passed down to our descendants. In this way, we do guide our own evolution, but not as intelligently and purposefully as this video is suggesting is or will be possible. We guide our own evolution in a similar (but less dramatic) way to the way we guided the evolution of dogs: by breeding the dogs with the most desirable traits in order to produce a dog with our favorite traits from the mother and the father (Over many many many generations, this is how we assisted the evolution of wolves into Chihuahuas and pitbulls!)

  • @DeusVivus

Ok it is true we singularly lack fossil chimps and gorillas however, the dominant hypothesis is that our ancestors at the moment of the divergence were bipedal and adapted to living in trees. In particular Toumai (Sahelanthropus Tchadensis) was bipedal and he is certainyl very close in time to the divergence. Furthermore, none of our ancestors be it in the earliest grade (Sahelanthropus, Orrorin, Ardipithecus etc) shows any adaption to knuckle walking.

Hi to all. This video is nice and friendly to the theme of the evolution of the great apes and the Humans.
In a time were: one can easily randomly die from Aids-HIV or cancer. Something like the genetically engineering of the evolution of the humans; is still pretty much a "bubble bath theory" and a delusion.
There has been already a specie of great ape, that is more evolved than the Humans since 400 thousand years ago. Is called the Swah ->(Southern Western African Highlander). And it's very related to the still Human ethnic group of the Koi-San people, that lives until our days in the lower lands of the South West Africa region.
Most Swahs are kinda tall, ranging from 1.70 m to 1.90 m of height. The Swahs appearance is composed by a mostly hairless fade golden brown body skin color and have a fine appearance for a great ape. The Swahs have slighter longer legs than their upper body structure and have slightly flatter feet than the Humans. The Swahs have 10% bigger brains than the Humans and 10% better physical effort endurance than the Humans. Making the Swahs: formidable outdoor Hunters; capable to maybe compete for hunting outdoor with the Raptors Dinosaurs that once roamed the Earth a very long time ago; much before the Swah could take their turn at roaming at the planet Earth as well.
Nowadays, the Swahs are on the brink of extinction, having survived less than a hand full of individuals on earth to these days.
The interaction of the Swah with the Humans have been tough for the Swahs over the years: because the Humans often struggle to comprehend the Swah abilities to make a serious effort to achieve something difficult for a Swah.
The Swah are kinda reserved and calm individuals; that often require some decent physical and mental exercise to keep their biological lengthwidth capabilities healthy.
The future of the earthlinks advanced evolution is already here. And it's fading away quickly.
Sometimes, some groups of the most advanced types of ant, fade away into extinction; just like the moon has been pulling away from the planet earth since the celestial "year" as been created.

I found fascinating than an ape fighting for survival, food, predators, climate and environments changes evolved into such a sophisticate intelligent specie, capable of manipulating the environment and having such understanding of the universe surrounding him, of the intimate nature of the matter and spacetime. Did we really need such a brain to survive?

This is a terrific explanation of evolution, and it is valid since it proved our origins and where we can go to in the future with technology. Technology is a good and bad thing though and we have to be extremely careful with our genes.
For religious folks, religion was a form of evolution, technically speaking. It allowed us to make groups of people in specific regions of the world that slowly allowed us to make our cultures. So we did that right in terms of evolution.
In terms of my background frim Catholocism and Christianity, God and the Devil is just a form of evolution and intelligence as well; God was discovered when we became civilized and human, as well as the Devil, that was a relic of our animal likenesses, things from our genetics that we wanted to get rid of altogether, and the ideas put together represents our innate nature of our fight between ourselves and our fight with ourselves internally.

First, let us understand the meaning of a FIXED allele. A fixed allele is an allele that is the only variant that exists for that gene in all the population. A fixed allele is homozygous for all members of the population.
Now, how does an allele become FIXED ? "If we start with all humans alive now and trace their ancestry by one particular gene (actually a locus), we find that the farther we move back in time the smaller the number of ancestors becomes. The pool of ancestors continues to shrink until we find the most recent common ancestor (MRCA) of all humans who were alive today, via this particular gene pathway."
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Most_recent_common_ancestor
i.e. If a person's mutant gene is going to be FIXED in the human genome:
    (1) that person must become a common ancestor of all humans,
    (2) only those persons who inherit the mutant gene can be the survivors.
Now the difference in the FIXED genomes of humans and chimpanzees is over 30 million bases in the genomes. There is no way Jose that in 6 million years there were that many individuals who became common ancestors of humans and FIXED that many new bases (i.e. 15 million alleles) in the human genome. It never happened folks.

    • @bluestar52281

It is. Evolution is actually the process of ANY organism--not just human--that adapts to its environment thanks to different traits/mutations and natural selection in order to enhance reproduction and propagate the numbers of future generations.

With globalization & intermarriages, I see pure races (even though no one is of a pure race anymore) dissapearing. There might not be, in the future, individuals exhibiting traits of only one race in particular. I also see the human race healthier, living longer, & developing stronger genes. Just like, in the past, we developed a self mechanism against lactose intolerance, we might develop, within our body, a way to fight diseases for which there is no cure at the present.

I realize it's hard to speak of evolution in a short form such as this and be precise, but you have to be aware you are propagating misconstrued information.
The linear evolution chart is not correct. We possibly share an ancestor with chimps &c. The human tree is full of branches. Considering the size of the genome .001% is still a lot. Basing an entire theory on one specimen is also shaky ground. Imagine if that one specimen was abnormal and not indicative of the population average. Lastly, we don't know what we don't know. To speak in such definitive terms teaches those who don't know more than you don't know is misleading. Try to keep an open mind. After all this is science.

Every body is unique in every thing, even father (mother) and son (daughter) are not the same. Genetic backward compatibility is just similarity.Similarity: there is similarity even between living and non-living things (ex:electrons). You cannot exactly tell that John is my son, even you can be correct by chance and by limited samples you match. The law must forbid genetic evidence relating to identify ancestral fathers or mothers of childrens. Right?

There have found egyptian mummies that r said to b 12,000 yrs old & recorded history even as far back, showing that what was known then by pyromid builders has to by deffinition have been far longer than 6,000yrs ago as that art has to have included a certain amount of what we now call science. As for religion in general, i reckon they will all die out due to progressive scientific & other knowledge.

Erin Ocelot to the extent of my limited knowledge an answer to your questions is still mostly unknown. The bering strait land bridge is for sure bullshit as there has been archeological/paleontological evidence discovered across the americas that, when carbon dated, are older than when the land bridge was passable. The commonsense explanation then has to involve the use of some type of watercraft sailing from Eastern Asia/Siberia to the Americans when the water between them was more like a bay than a giant ocean.

yes humans seem a bit out of place don't they? you would need an extreme environmental pressure to force natural selection to make a species this smart. this happened with dolphins but that's because they need to coordinate in order to catch fish effectively. starting to walk on 2 feet after walking on four feet for the past 300 million years is also a bit odd isn't it? if a predator started chasing us whilst we were making this transition we would still reflexively start running on 4 feet again to get away. we would have died out. that's why i believe in the aquatic ape theory :)

    • @PhilosophyPortal
      @PhilosophyPortal  11 років тому +36

Ryan Stewart race from a biological perspective doesn't make any sense. Anthropologists now study clinal variation in genetic differences. Race is a social construction, we label and categorize people by phenotype. Different cultures and sub-cultures classify humanity into races in different ways. But none of these classification schemes objectively represent genetic variation in a meaningful scientific way.
Again there is genetic variation, race is just a useless concept to help us better understand it biologically.

I'm talking about you in particular religion, you ultimate waste of time, energy, and suffering. What is "wrong"? I believe it is something that goes against the best interest of our species as a whole. If this evolutionary world view based on evidence and reason (the thing that got us this far!) isn't believed through majority, one can only expect a WRONG direction.

He didn't believe humans came from Africa damn it you are pissing me off he looked at whales common ancestors and they had legs and same bone structures as humans and one side went to evolve into whales and others went onto land and started evolving into humanoid creatures. Learn your facts before you post shit. I'm 14 and I didn't use the internet I used what I knew and what I learn during class and you are an adult. Anyone who watches this leave it isn't right.

*sigh* if you are going to make an evilutionary video at least research it properly. Im mostly a layman in the subject but even i am aware that lucy isnt only or most of our data on her species. We have found several full skeletons in the 40+ years since lucy was found. Seriously do people think science just finds stuff then freezes in place?
