there was once a game that I wanted to try out, it was being developed, and there were a few beta testers who made videos of it on this very platform, it had so much potential, with characters and bosses and a story that could have grown into something grand. but then, another company caused all sorts of trouble against the game developers, and they were forced to shut it all down. The company that caused the trouble then forcibly deleted both the videos and accounts of the people who had videos of the game. I don't remember the name of the game, it was spelled in Korean, the text and character speech thankfully had decent translation, but the name of the game itself did not. To give an example of some of the characters and bosses, one of the ones I would have enjoyed battling was a boss/character known as the king of storm and sun, a pretty cool character. The game itself was not bad, its just all due to a number of issues between companies.
Hey Jared, what honestly inrigues me the most about is that Last of Us 2 made neither list. You mentioned missing Tsushima, so did you not end up playing this either? If you did, what are your thoughts?
PC version on high end hardware is legitimately one of the best games of 2020. Play it on a base Xbox One and it's literally unplayable. It's an interesting case.
The worst thing is that I hated the arbitrary need for four gameboys of the original, it prevented any easy multiplayer for me as a kid. I know the reason is for the menu, but they could have made it work somehow...and they had one chance to simplify it!
Dude I can’t believe the year is already over. Since we can’t do anything because of anti-social distancing it’s like time itself has screeched to a halt and like it’s only been half a year.
I would never have touched Fall Guys. But my 4 year old nephew is starting to get interested in games, and since it was free on PS+, I installed it. Playing this stupid game with him is one of my favorite gaming experiences this year.
I will always love the "Games these year were great!" suddenly switching to "Everything sucked!" dynamic that happens at the end of the year with jared.
God yeah, I had that with some of the best of games too "wait doom was this year.. oh right it came out the same day as Animal Crossing...god this has been a dense year"

I can't play my original copy of Warcraft 3 because it automatically updates it to the new one, and because *I will never buy the new one*, blizzard won't let me play any version. I'm not allowed play the original game I owned for years 😢
@@ix8750 yah, there's an error that prevents anyone with an old copy from playing unless they buy the new one. You just get stuck at these doors in front of the menu and you can't do anything.
@@royalbandit8106 ya....error. Sure, you know blizzard put that in to make people buy the new game and therefore bind them to the B.S. contract in which if you make some awesome map and it turns into the next D.o.t.a. they can take it from you and make money off your work without giving you a dime.
I appreciate Remothered’s ATTEMPT at a callback to ps2 era 3rd person horror games, but its amount of glitches and lack of polish is only made all the more unforgivable by it hardly being an improvement over its predecessor.
This is the point that annoys me the most with Genshin Impact being such a smash hit on PC and consoles. It brings mobile microtransaction standards onto the major platforms - and people are fine with it. Wouldn't be so bad if the gacha mechanics didn't come in right after we *finally* managed to shut down the lootbox industry trends of the last few years, with EA losing court cases in Europe and so forth. Mainstreaming Gacha spending like this will be a massive setback to recovering the gaming landscape from shitty business practices...
@@TheDarkChaplain microtransactions like this never went away my friend (that’s literally what lootboxes are, 1 to 1, there is no difference), but many people are fine with it here because in this case, the entire game is free and the system is relatively fair. The problem is when games you *already paid the full price for* try to snatch even more money from you by locking out content that you already own, essentially making you pay money to be able to pay money.
@@TheDarkChaplain Gacha mechanics existed on consoles way before Genshin Impact became a thing. Don't blame the game for corporation greed. Also people are fine with gacha because people are addicted to gambling. and TCGs.
It's been nice seeing Jared get back into his best/worst lists. Missed them last year, feels like a little dose of normalcy in a year that has been anything but.
I thought Fall Guys was fun, but I lost interest after a few weeks. It needed more. I personally don't think it deserves bottom 10, much less WORSE than Avengers
Fall Guys is not bad. It's the type of game that i'ts pretty fun... until you get bored after some time. I don't think it deserves to be in the list. I feel that ProJared judged this game based on his personal experience and how bad he is on it. When you don't play well a game, the first thing you think about it is that it's a bad game.
@@Debloko666 this i agree. as he was saying the game needs precise controls i was constantly yelling for him to just dive over that ledge. fall guys hardly requires you to be that precise, just a bit of strategy, hand-eye coordination, and luck is enough
to be fair, fall guys is kinda a one trick pony kind of game. its just the same few game types on loop. some people will get countless hours of fun and others will lose interest after the first few rounds.

Yeah, for someone like me who likes Takeshi's castle and WipeOut, it is very enjoyable. Watching or playing it. Saying it is garbage is a bit much. There s been so much worse games this year. Unplayable, broken, filled with bugs, etc...

Honestly? I feel that crucible is a key example of why corporate should shut up and stop man handling projects in fields they obviously have no expertise on. You make a good game first. Build up a pedigree. Then. THEN you can squeeze those balls.

It's hard to imagine that Fall Guys was the biggest thing ever when it came out, then basically died off within a month or so. The cheaters really messed everything up. Speaking of messing up, this year really did suck, huh? I completely forgot that WC3 Refunded and that one Amazon game even happened in 2020.
I honestly didn't even know half of those games came out this year minus a few of them. I honestly didn't even know amazon tried making a game but I'm kind of glad it flopped. But yeah its kind of sad really, fall guys was a hit game but the developers basically let it go its course. And it doesn't help that so many games of it that i watched always have like 2 or 3 team games in them so you are guaranteed to lose if you get put on a bad team.
I'm surprised Fall Guys is on this list, because it's my 2020 GotY. Meanwhile I see Cloud is on the thumbnail of the best games of 2020, so I don't think I'll even watch that video.

@@thesnatcher3616 I'm an rpg fan, although I'm not as big on jrpgs as I used to. I definitely prefer the 2D era of gaming. I could never get into FF7 though. It was my first Final Fantasy (if you don't count Mystic Quest) but I just didn't enjoy it, for some reason. On the other hand I loved Crisis Core, it's the only game to ever make me shed a tear.

The MGS game that took place during the 1960's? That game wasn't called Cold War, dude, it was called Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. But I definitely agree that fast and furious crossroads should've been on the list too. Anything fast and furious related has always sucked.
Obviously this is an opinion piece and to judge your opinions is kind of silly, but I'm gonna do just that for funsies. I don't feel like Fall Guys deserves to be on a Top 10 Worst lists. It's great fun, and its controls are great even if sometimes the physics can get nuts. It also has a system that is extremely refreshing, play the game, get loot, play well at the game, get more loot, and if you want to get a couple extra outfits, here they are at a cheap price. Me and my brother are both better at platformers then our friends, so we would consistently get to the finals, while they struggled a bit more, which while multi-team mini-games are the worst part of Fall Guys, it still felt like skill gets you further, and luck just helps. For someone who finds zero enjoyment out of Among Us, even finding popular streams of it to be wildly obnoxious in nature, it made me sad to see people in the pop culture world of gaming transition to that. But then again some of that blame should fall to the creators of Fall Guys, I mean another egg scramble mini-game? Really? Either way, I get it's a personal preference for you, and I'm not bashing the opinion or anything like that, I just feel it's a quality fun game to play with friends.
Yeah I don't really get the issue he has with it. The controls work perfectly fine and saying "precision" platforming is kind of a joke, it's really not a demanding game. Like if you got tired of playing the same stuff over and over and are taking a break to wait for new content I get it, and the issue of friends of differing skill levels causing a lot of down time is legitimate.. But its inclusion in this video didn't make much sense. He clearly doesn't even come close to the wall and of course it doesn't grab on, and he goes on to say it arbitrarily decides when it wants to work or not, while showing a clip of him just flat walking off a ledge..?
I remember how much of a dumpster fire that thing was when it came out and the avalanche after that, I forgot entirely that it happened this year of all times.
I tried fallguys cause... well it was on ps+... and it reminded me of takeshis castle, which is still an enjoyable show.... this game.... maybe fun for a few days. But it become very repetitiv very fast and the reward system is a joke and downright impossible, specially with a lot of cheaters comming along.... also it's not as pretty and funny as takeshis castle.
Yeah, I wonder how many people would recognize it xD Personally, I didn't play it through, but that nightclub soundtrack and also the Morgue one were very memorable and cool :)

But to me it feels a little strange when there are other games that are simply worse in every way, that I know he played because I watch his streams. A "worst" list really shouldn't be a "games I don't like list". For instance, I didn't like Ghost of Tsushima at all, it was one of the most boring games I played this year. But one of the worst? Fall Guys: Lost to a 2018 sleeper. Cyberpunk on both lists, not surprising considering the current gens got the shaft. Maybe, _juuuuuust maybe,_ if CDPR had focused on the PS4, One, and PC THEN ported it to PS5 and Series X, maybe it wouldn't have been as bad. Alas, CDPR burned so many bridges after years of built up loyalty, but they fell prey to all the Triple A trappings. If any game deserved to be on this list, Cyberpunk definitely did. Also, Amazon had a game come out!? Huh, what? How about you *get involved in Twitch and help fix that platform before going into gaming_* because of the sheer stupidity going on there. No wonder more and more streamers are considering UA-cam and combating those DMCA false claims.

The Warcraft III thing legitimately bummed me out. I'm an adult; I have real-world life or death problems that generally give me enough sense of perspective not to get worked up over relatively frivolous things like video games. But damn, Warcraft III was my childhood and apparently meant more to me than I realized. Knowing that the Reforged debacle pretty much guarantees that it won't have another chance at being legitimately remade for a very long time, if ever, is such a disappointment. What a waste.

CD Projekt Red really fumbled the ball on this one. Hoping they catch it before it falls, but i wasn't really interested in buying the game anyway. My uncle did buy the PS4 version and...honestly i would put that money towards buying plenty of good discounted games on steam. Such a shame...
Actually, cooking mama is back in stores now. I also think you can play it in handheld mode too. I didn't even think warcraft reforged came out this year lol that's surprising. I still want to give Remothered a chance.

To be fair we did get some great games in 2020 Streets of Rage 4, Cthulhu Saves Christmas, Journey To The Savage Planet, Mortal Shell, Crash 4, Space Invaders Forever, Panzer Dragoon Remake, New Hyrule Warriors Game, Ori Will Of The Wisps,
I greatly disagree with Fall Guys being on this list. All the other games had legitimate reasons for being on a "worst games" list; be it glitches, poor/broken game design/gameplay, hours of slow grinding or microtransactions, and what not. But Fall Guys reasoning was "I don't like I'm not having fun therefor worst game of 2020" Just because you don' t like something doesn't mean it's bad. It's fine to not like it but to say it's one of the top worst games of the year comes off as petty and way over that top.
Jared one video ago: "2020 was a bad year but had so many INCREDIBLE video games! I can't even include all of them here cause there's only ten spots!" Jared here: "EVERY GAME in 2020 was garbage! We're never gonna play a single game from this year again!"
An RE multiplayer game where your options for playable character include a bunch of generic OC's and Jill freaking Valentine herself? Like, seriously? Either _all_ of the playable characters are series mainstays, _none_ of them are, or it's something like Tommy Jarvis in Friday the 13th: The Game where Jill is a backup if one of the players is already dead. Also, if Crapcom is gonna be so insistent on forcing multiplayer RE games down our throats, why can't we just have a sequel to Operation Raccoon City?
At least there is still the community. At the end of the day actual player comes from real players who enjoy the game for what it is and not people that only jumped on the bandwagon because of all the Twitch streamers. Dead game's definition is completely screwed up because of those who misused it when it comes to Fall Guys.
I'm inclined to say that even the versions of cyberpunk ''that works'' still sucks the core game is there, but that's it, there is a massive lack of polish to it that ruins it all.
ProJared, you missed the *other* big reason why so many players abandoned Fall Guys: the hackers/cheaters. What you said is still valid, I get that Fall Guys isn't for everyone, but when half the playing experience is littered with cheaters that fly over the courses and steal wins from regular players becomes the norm without any mention of fixing the problem, that's the reason to let the game go. It's one thing to become bored and frustrated from trying to pass certain obstacles and levels, it's another thing to see players fly at 500kmh to the crown without so much of a thought of a fair challenge.
While I disagree with Fall Guys being on the list, I do understand your feelings about it. You're justified to not enjoy it because it wasn't your kind of game, or that you didn't get the appeal of it, and I can respect that. But I wouldn't say it's a bad game because of that either. I know sometimes the mechanics don't work as intended, but it's not really a broken game like some of the others on the list. The rest of the list I'm fine with, even if I didn't play most of them or even hear of some of them. I hadn't even heard of Crucible so the story of it being released, de-listed, then canceled all within a few months is hilarious.

It's been nice seeing Jared get back into his best/worst lists. Missed them last year, feels like a little dose of normalcy in a year that has been anything but.
I thought Fall Guys was fun, but I lost interest after a few weeks. It needed more. I personally don't think it deserves bottom 10, much less WORSE than Avengers
Fall Guys is not bad. It's the type of game that i'ts pretty fun... until you get bored after some time. I don't think it deserves to be in the list.
I feel that ProJared judged this game based on his personal experience and how bad he is on it. When you don't play well a game, the first thing you think about it is that it's a bad game.
@@Debloko666 this i agree. as he was saying the game needs precise controls i was constantly yelling for him to just dive over that ledge. fall guys hardly requires you to be that precise, just a bit of strategy, hand-eye coordination, and luck is enough
to be fair, fall guys is kinda a one trick pony kind of game. its just the same few game types on loop. some people will get countless hours of fun and others will lose interest after the first few rounds.

Yeah, for someone like me who likes Takeshi's castle and WipeOut, it is very enjoyable. Watching or playing it. Saying it is garbage is a bit much. There s been so much worse games this year. Unplayable, broken, filled with bugs, etc...

It's hard to imagine that Fall Guys was the biggest thing ever when it came out, then basically died off within a month or so. The cheaters really messed everything up.
Speaking of messing up, this year really did suck, huh? I completely forgot that WC3 Refunded and that one Amazon game even happened in 2020.
I honestly didn't even know half of those games came out this year minus a few of them. I honestly didn't even know amazon tried making a game but I'm kind of glad it flopped.
But yeah its kind of sad really, fall guys was a hit game but the developers basically let it go its course. And it doesn't help that so many games of it that i watched always have like 2 or 3 team games in them so you are guaranteed to lose if you get put on a bad team.

It was my first Final Fantasy (if you don't count Mystic Quest) but I just didn't enjoy it, for some reason. On the other hand I loved Crisis Core, it's the only game to ever make me shed a tear.

Obviously this is an opinion piece and to judge your opinions is kind of silly, but I'm gonna do just that for funsies. I don't feel like Fall Guys deserves to be on a Top 10 Worst lists. It's great fun, and its controls are great even if sometimes the physics can get nuts. It also has a system that is extremely refreshing, play the game, get loot, play well at the game, get more loot, and if you want to get a couple extra outfits, here they are at a cheap price. Me and my brother are both better at platformers then our friends, so we would consistently get to the finals, while they struggled a bit more, which while multi-team mini-games are the worst part of Fall Guys, it still felt like skill gets you further, and luck just helps. For someone who finds zero enjoyment out of Among Us, even finding popular streams of it to be wildly obnoxious in nature, it made me sad to see people in the pop culture world of gaming transition to that. But then again some of that blame should fall to the creators of Fall Guys, I mean another egg scramble mini-game? Really? Either way, I get it's a personal preference for you, and I'm not bashing the opinion or anything like that, I just feel it's a quality fun game to play with friends.
Yeah I don't really get the issue he has with it. The controls work perfectly fine and saying "precision" platforming is kind of a joke, it's really not a demanding game. Like if you got tired of playing the same stuff over and over and are taking a break to wait for new content I get it, and the issue of friends of differing skill levels causing a lot of down time is legitimate.. But its inclusion in this video didn't make much sense. He clearly doesn't even come close to the wall and of course it doesn't grab on, and he goes on to say it arbitrarily decides when it wants to work or not, while showing a clip of him just flat walking off a ledge..?

I tried fallguys cause... well it was on ps+... and it reminded me of takeshis castle, which is still an enjoyable show.... this game.... maybe fun for a few days. But it become very repetitiv very fast and the reward system is a joke and downright impossible, specially with a lot of cheaters comming along.... also it's not as pretty and funny as takeshis castle.

Nope. And even if the virus went away forever everything else that happened this year has set things in motion that guarantee the worst is yet to come. One such example being here in America 60 percent of ALL the money ever printed in the Country since we got off the gold standard was in the last 10 months. Can't wait for depression levels of hyper inflation, paying out the ass in taxes, or more than likely both. Enjoy having money to buy video games with. Cyberpunk on both lists, not surprising considering the current gens got the shaft. Maybe, _juuuuuust maybe,_ if CDPR had focused on the PS4, One, and PC THEN ported it to PS5 and Series X, maybe it wouldn't have been as bad. Alas, CDPR burned so many bridges after years of built up loyalty, but they fell prey to all the Triple A trappings. If any game deserved to be on this list, Cyberpunk definitely did.

The Warcraft III thing legitimately bummed me out. I'm an adult; I have real-world life or death problems that generally give me enough sense of perspective not to get worked up over relatively frivolous things like video games. But damn, Warcraft III was my childhood and apparently meant more to me than I realized. Knowing that the Reforged debacle pretty much guarantees that it won't have another chance at being legitimately remade for a very long time, if ever, is such a disappointment. What a waste.

CD Projekt Red really fumbled the ball on this one. Hoping they catch it before it falls, but i wasn't really interested in buying the game anyway. My uncle did buy the PS4 version and...honestly i would put that money towards buying plenty of good discounted games on steam. Such a shame...

I greatly disagree with Fall Guys being on this list. All the other games had legitimate reasons for being on a "worst games" list; be it glitches, poor/broken game design/gameplay, hours of slow grinding or microtransactions, and what not. But Fall Guys reasoning was "I don't like I'm not having fun therefor worst game of 2020" Just because you don' t like something doesn't mean it's bad. It's fine to not like it but to say it's one of the top worst games of the year comes off as petty and way over that top.

An RE multiplayer game where your options for playable character include a bunch of generic OC's and Jill freaking Valentine herself? Like, seriously? Either _all_ of the playable characters are series mainstays, _none_ of them are, or it's something like Tommy Jarvis in Friday the 13th: The Game where Jill is a backup if one of the players is already dead.
Also, if Crapcom is gonna be so insistent on forcing multiplayer RE games down our throats, why can't we just have a sequel to Operation Raccoon City?

ProJared, you missed the *other* big reason why so many players abandoned Fall Guys: the hackers/cheaters. What you said is still valid, I get that Fall Guys isn't for everyone, but when half the playing experience is littered with cheaters that fly over the courses and steal wins from regular players becomes the norm without any mention of fixing the problem, that's the reason to let the game go. It's one thing to become bored and frustrated from trying to pass certain obstacles and levels, it's another thing to see players fly at 500kmh to the crown without so much of a thought of a fair challenge.

While I disagree with Fall Guys being on the list, I do understand your feelings about it. You're justified to not enjoy it because it wasn't your kind of game, or that you didn't get the appeal of it, and I can respect that. But I wouldn't say it's a bad game because of that either. I know sometimes the mechanics don't work as intended, but it's not really a broken game like some of the others on the list.
The rest of the list I'm fine with, even if I didn't play most of them or even hear of some of them. I hadn't even heard of Crucible so the story of it being released, de-listed, then canceled all within a few months is hilarious.
