It's called the choroid, and its purpose is to reflect light that has passed through the retina back through the retina again, giving the animal better night vision, since they can essentially 'see' all the light twice.
This is why the eyes of animals such as raccoons, deer, cats, etc. seem to 'glow' at night if light is shone in their face- you're seeing the light that has entered their eye through the pupil, passed through the lens and retina, and reflected back off the choroid and through the pupil again, so light really is coming from its eye.
When the eye of a cow, sheep, or other animal that has a choroid is dissected, it appears as a thin, slightly metallic membrane that can be any color from a very dark blue to a silver-green with hints of yellow.
The choroid is also sometimes known as the tapetum lucidum.

Although they are not reading this, what you said is true facts. I wish they would still make videos because they have very unique, unhinged, and genuine personalities, but they have split apart and moved on in different directions from UA-cam.
