In the 70’s I use to raid the Kmart dumpster for my shoes. They’d use a box knife, slice them once and toss. My shoemaker would sew them up for a couple of bucks. High top, steel toed work boots were my favorite. 😊
K Mart used to keep there return batteries on a pallet behind there stores for many years I made a lot of money from the stores I visited do miss those days 😎
@Derrick Finzer when I was in high school and wanted something I had to pay myself and scrap didn't pay as much back then but there was an abundance of it everywhere 😎
Wish I had known about dumpster diving in the 70’s! We had a Kmart. I guess most towns did back then. Man, the things I must have missed in those dumpsters!! Lol!
I found more stuff in the dumpster behind K-Mart in Great Bend, KS then I ever found in the store. Best find was one of the flashing blue lights, it lit our porch for 3 years of college.
Awesome video as usual Mike scraping, donating stuff and setting an example for the rest of us your one of a kind!! Hope recovery is going well and we can watch you dumpster diving soon. From your fans in Alberta take care and stay safe!
My life just changed. I went from scrapping in Florida, to living on top of a mountain in N.C. ,and am now mating baskets, bowls, cups and backpacks out of tree bark.
Hi Mike and Laura nice haul today and that battery charger is a nice find. I'm happy tge days are fitting longer and warmer. I'm tired of the snow. Have a good week.
That’s a carbonator assembly that makes Soda water. It has a stainless steel tank with a brass pump & motor. It’s what Coke & Pepsi installs with their fountain machines.
That was an excellent outing today Mike u found some great stuff can’t believe that hole box of bread new crutches they were a great find and hope you are well on the mend after your surgery mate and love that u thought about your fans and saved up some videos to keep us entertained while you are recovering that proves how much u love your viewers keep up your great work mate
My mother is on oxygen 24/7 & about 3 weeks ago I found a new like condition walker. And I thought of her as she needs help as she is walking. So I'm hoping you find good home for the medical supplies you found in the video. ❤💕
It’s so great when you find new stuff like the crutches and you take the time to find a new home them. It would be an awful shame if they ended up in the land fill.
Oh my goodness Mike what an absolutely AMAZING haul!! I would love to micro scrap that medical equipment, that would be fab!!! Terrible they threw out that whole box of crutches....glad you'll rehome them! Fantastic video!!
Lol this makes me remember that I used to do that stuff, fun times and what made it so bad was, I was a trash company guy, and I always found stuff, especially in and around dumpsters, I'm too old to be jumping in them open top containers like I used to,
When I watch you drop from the top of the big open top dumpster I get a weird feeling in my legs as though it's myself that's just dropped off the dumpster. I do hope that you haven't had a bad landing and injured yourself. Stay safe and keep on getting those scrappy scraps. You are one amazing guy who puts a big smile on my face with your antics
Hey Mike, I hope you are feeling better each day. I'm sure you will be jumping in and out of the dumpsters in no time. Take care, be safe and get well.
I occasionally watch other scrapper videos and none of them can even hold my attention for very long. They either try (and fail) to be like you or they are boring. No one is as good as you!!
Crunch a Luncheon~~~New Word in the English Dictonary~! I had Surgery last Friday and I took a Oxycodone about 15 minutes ago and it's KICKING IN!! My Back Surgery was difficult and I'm HURTING right now, but you make it feel better with your humor Mike...Thanks!
Mike your awesome!! Hey that Andrew cell tower stuff, the connectors all most all that equipment is plated brass. Grind them you will find that they are brass. I used to work for cell tower companies. I scrapped a lot of that. Lots of money. The c-claMps are stainless as well as the light cable hangers. Lots of stainless in cell tower stuff so it doesn’t rust. Keep the videos coming!
What can I say - wow and wow again - all that Space Ship Stuff - the Dumpster Goddess was very Kind to You Tonight - this surly must deserve a Follow Up - all that Gear - Electronics - Wires and Such ! Take Care Mike - Hope You Re-Charging Your Batteries from the Ops is Progressing steady ! Cheers from Australia !!!!
In the early 90s my father used to go urban mining, he would bring home amazing things, toys, tools and clothing, lots and lots of clothes and shoes, we didn't know anybody that didn't have new clothes or shoes, he was very generous with what he found, now it's illegal to do it and everyone has a compactor it seems. As an adult now my favorite thing in the world is the dump, I figure at least a quarter of the things I own came from the dump, my lawn mower which was brand-new needed a wheel, my 5500 watt gen that needed the pull start fixed came a full tank of gas too, the 6x6 treated timbers that are now part of my work shop, the list goes on almost forever, in the summer I go twice a week, the dump provides!
Sounds like a good idea for a channel, people would watch it I think. Two trips a week would probably be enough for one video a week with all the stuff that's thrown away.
