I use this foundation and I can say this foundation is the best foundation that I have ever used in my whole life and I highly recommend it:)
I actually work for Clinique and when this foundation came out, I was so excited! I really had to figure out how to work with it to work best for my skin. I've tried this foundation with my combination/oily skin and my dry skin ( after I started accutane).
Overall, I find that my Beauty Blender works better than any type of foundation brush or my hands. A patting motion really helps to build the coverage.
Combo/oily skin - I would use a pore filling or oil absorbing moisturizing lotion/primer. I had pretty bad acne when I first used this and I HAD to make sure my face was moisturized because it did tend to flake a bit around my blemishes. I usually had to powder 1 to 2 times a day. Nothing extreme.
Dry skin - Same deal with keeping my face moisturized before I put on my foundation. The foundation worked well over a thicker lotion and didn't seem to move around much. If my skin was really acting up and needed a good exfoliation, I would notice it flaking in some of my drier areas.
I liked this foundation after I figured out how to work with it. The most important tip is just to make sure that you have a moisturizer that works well with your skin type and make sure you regularly exfoliate!
Shannon, try using a beauty blender for this one!! It works the best for this foundation🙌🏽
Also the shade range isnt great, I've found that all the shades seem to have a really orange undertone to them😭 But it's beautiful when applied with a Sponge so try that next time!
That's the problem with Clinique all of their shades are orange toned when I worked for them I could never find a shade that didn't make look like a pumpkin and I am half Cherokee so I naturally get a golden tone to my skin

I love how you show the texture of your skin up close. Most gurus don't do that because of their insecurities so they keep the special lighting in their videos to filter their flaws while filming. This is why you're one of the best reviewers.
This is literally my all time FAVORITE foundation!! The only one I can use without looking too oily or dry since my skin is complicated, so I would really recommend this

Nooo! I really wanted you to like this one! I love it personally, and mix it with strobe cream to get a more glowing finish and then set with urban decay chill. I think it makes my pores vanish and looks super flawless for about 6-8 hours. So glad there is someone on youtube who does unbiased reviews.

I just bought this two weeks ago. It's now my holy grail foundation. I have dry skin, but I get slightly oily around my T-zone, which I set with powder. My skin looks super flawless. I don't have acne prone skin, but I can see how this would crust and cake up on blemishes. I've tried applying it several ways. My favorite is to buff it in then go over it with a Beauty Blender. I give this a 9/10. A point is deducted for breaking down around my nostrils, though every foundation does that on me. If anyone knows how to prevent it, tips are welcomed.
I actually love this foundation! It's the only one that doesn't melt around my nose!
My skin type is normal to dry!

i have super oily skin and this is the best foundation EVER! it lasts all day on me and it matches my skin tone so perfectly, in my opinion this is the best foundation for anyone with oily skin. it also didn't break me out.

I have this foundation and I also have a love/hate relationship with it. I have VERY oily skin, so it's not ideal for me. It looks beautiful for the first half of my day (around 4-5 hours) then it's all down hill from there. I have to blot several times throughout the day with this foundation, which is typical for us oily skin girls. By the end of the day it's completely gone around my nose and chin. So, I love it for a short period of time, but not for those days that I need a dependable foundation. For those who may want a suggestion, I have been loving the Cover Girl Clean Matte BB Cream. It lasts all day (with primer) and I rarely have to blot! Love your videos, Shannon! :)

I am really glad to know that I'm not the only one who thinks this grabs onto blemishes and emphasizes them. I am prone to breakouts around my chin and forehead area, and while this foundation does offer great coverage, I never build it as concealer anymore. Thank you for the great videos!! I have tried so many things I never would have thought of doing myself because I saw you do it first ;)
Next time please use a sponge on one side so we can see if it sheers out 🙂
It does sheer out! I used a beauty blender in my Baddie makeup tutorial if you need to see how it works. But it does sheer it out a little bit, but it also makes it a tiny bit easier to blend.
I use this foundation on a daily basis and with a beauty blender it sheers out a little bit but not a whole lot. it's suppose to be full coverage so I think best way to apply it is with a brush and then go over it with a sponge.
I use it with just a tiny dot on each cheek, forehead and chin and I find it gives me the perfect coverage its a medium-full with just a few dots and a brush but im sure with a spong you could get it to be medium. It also looks very natural looking if you dont use to much
I have a few acne scars on my cheeks and some blemishes and tbh this foundation looks so much better applied with the BB! That's just me personally, I feel like it gives the most beautiful natural look while still being full coverage. Then again it works differently on everyone :)
with using a sponge i get better coverage because the brush soaks it all up. i love this foundation though, you can control the coverage by how much you put. little goes a LONG way and a bottle lasts three months for me
I have combo skin and I love this foundation ! BUT .. I recommend blending it with a damp beauty sponge to make your life easier and the finish of the foundation will look much nicer (smoother).
You didn't use too much you got the wrong colour
Typically for full coverage, I always apply foundation with a flat top kabuki brush. Even though I have a lot of acne and scarring, I find that I always apply this with a beauty blender. I still get full coverage with it and the foundation just looks better when applied with a sponge.
Next time you wear it, try applying less product and blending it out with a beauty blender :)

Wouldn't recommend for oily/combination skin as when I wore this, it looked cakey and patchy throughout the day and it also oxidized making my face look really orange.

Seems like this foundation is more for people with normal skin and little to no acne!
Hard to blend, sticks to pores, and cakes up and almost tries to stick together.

i had the same problem it cakd up but then i talked to a dermatologist and it was because it clings to dead skin cells. i exfoliate everyday w their toner and now i have no problem with it but before when it caked up, i would be at school and it would just look gross all over my face): but with exfoliating, and then primer and setting spray its amazing. sucks how we have to buy other things for makeup to work better
I received a very generous sample size in a clinique gift with purchase set and I ended up loving it so much I went and bought the full size! I have very oily acne prone skin and I absolutely love this foundation, definitely in my top 3. It applies great for me with and without a primer and with a brush or sponge and looks so beautiful. It doesn't emphasize any texture and going over any blemishes with additional product doesn't cause a problem for me. I don't personally have to blot as much as I do with other foundations and it wears so beautifully for me. Everyone's skin biochemistry and how it receives and handles product is very different so I'd say go for a sample and just try it out! I really do love this foundation so much and I'm very happy I purchased the full size😊
im always highly confused how bad her foundation matches in the begining and how good the final result is. when she puts it on i just thought omg that will neeeeever work out and than...magic 😂👍🏻
...my thoughts in the beyond perfecting are also very mixed, First i liked it a lot but after using it for a week or so it really makes my skin break out, unfortunately. i use it from time to time but definately not for multiple days in a row
Lighting
I combined this Clinique foundation with Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation to see if I could get the best of both worlds. The Clinique is just so incredibly lightweight and full coverage, while the Tarte amazonian clay is super matte and long lasting (on my skin). I realized the two foundations applied with a beauty blender result in the most gorgeous satiny-matte finish that is super long lasting and full coverage. If you're looking to thin out the Tarte foundation, or add longevity to the clinique, these pair well together.

this one is by far the worst I have ever used but everyone's skin is different and reacts different .... my fave is Estee Lauder 💜

My best is Nars sheer glow and the worst I've ever used is Mac face and body- the coverage is sooooo bad there's basically none and after about an hour my skin gets super oily with it and the makeup slides off so fast😳 it was the biggest waste of money

i love this foundation so much its the best ive ever used and the only one ill actually run out and go through more bottles. youre only supposed to do a couple dots on each portion ofyour face and then blend with a beauty blender. it oxodizes and after blending is lighter. the foundation is fullcoverage but still looks so natural if done right.

I have the same skin and I use Dior forever skin, it's a little expensive but honestly for me it's so good! It lasts forever and I've barley used any of the product and I brought it a month ago now :) not sure how much it is I think it was £30? But deffo worth the price!
Try loreal true match, its only 10/12 pounds/dollars and its a good medium to full coverage, what i like about it is how watery the consistancy is beacuse its doseny cake and is perfect for dry skin and it isnt harsh on acne scaring X
I have combination skin and I find that Nars Sheer Glow works really well if you use a damp makeup sponge (I use one from real techniques) and just dap and pat it onto your skin. Plus it has really good coverage. But when my skin is really dry I use bourjours healthy mix because it's so hydrating, has a nice medium coverage and a really nice finish. 💕

I think I am one of the first youtubers who reviewed this foundation in a first impressions and I had the same shade as Shan and I also had an issue with it because of the shade as it turned out to be a bit too dark, but it is an amazing foundation. I got a shade down 07 which is more neutral and it works perfectly now. Do not use it as a concealer though! Use it with a beauty blender and blend down to your neck because it is a pigmented product. Great for acne prone skin as it does not cause breakouts.
I don't know why she keeps talking about how Orange she looks like that's the main thing about the foundation when it's not the brands fault that she went out and bought the first one she could find. I have type 3 skin which is super oily with dry patches and I wear this and find it flawless and easy to apply with a brush. Why even review a foundation when the main thing you talk about is the colour you picked being wrong for you. It's obviously not going to stay on after you've blown and wiped your nose. I feel like you need to stop reviewing products until you can learn how to apply makeup because it covers even my dark circles under my eyes. I feel like you never even properly covered your pimples in the first place

I actually bought this foundation a couple of days ago and at first I was like I love this stuff than after using it a second time it became way too cakey and hard to blend into my skin. I switched to the Clinique silk foundation and found It blends so much easier and the finish is so dewy and flawless! You should do a review on the Clinique silk foundation!😄
Have to say I'm a bit disappointed by this review. Putting aside that I use this foundation myself, I find it a bit half arsed that you couldn't even be bothered to get the right shade. Not the best review.

I'm so surprised you didn't love the foundation! It's my absolute favorite! I have quite a few dry patches, but I'm also kinda oily in the t-zone. Basically combination skin and I just love it so much. It looks so beautiful on my skin and doesn't cling on to dryness, it just looks so good. I got the same shade as you and when I first applied it I was like WOAH! That's orange! But once it has time to settle it just matches me so perfectly. I have medium skin and continue to get tanned on the daily because I live on the beach, but it just works. I always prime, powder & blend it in with a beauty blender. Idk I just love it!

The process was going on at the same time for making the product so chances are no she didn't. There are many similar pallets made by many different brands and just because these two are some of the more popular pallets doesn't mean Kylie copied. I can guarantee you can go to drugstore and find a similar pallet.

I'd love to see a first impression on an eyeshadow palette. Foundation first impressions are great but I would love something different. You could use eye primer on one eye and not the other and could compare how they stay on throughout the day, if the primer makes a difference etc xx

I have the oiliest skin and this did NOT work for me! and I'm a ghost and I got the palest shade and it's still soo dark :( I can only wear this if I use rimmel stay matte primer and then blot all day

I wear it for 10+ hours nearly every day and usually don't have to touch up, but I don't like being 100% matte. On really long days I just bring a pressed powder along with me to touch up t zones and I'm all good :)
I bought it after casey holmes raved about it (she has oily skin) but I couldn't get it to set! no powder would work. the rimmel stay matte primer is the best thing i've tried with it. so weird how everyone has different thoughts!

I use this with a white foundation mixer because the lightest shade is far too dark so I understand completely. I wish they'd come out with lighter shades
I highly recommend the maybelline super stay foundation as it's the only foundation that stays on all day with and without a primer.
I have tried mac studio fix, rimmel match perfection, no7 stay perfect etc and they all come off after 6 hours!
This foundation is kinda greasy feeling, I've got dry skin and it works okay but it defo wont work on oily skin
and for anyone as pale as me, the shade range is shit. don't even bother
Yes! They don't have a light enough range. But I do like the foundation and so I use a vampire white foundation to add to the center area of my face so it helps give the already contoured effect.
it works great for my oily skin! I use 0.5 breeze but it's way too pink which makes it too dark. I need something a little more yellow and lighter but I make it work.

This is one of my favorite/go-to foundations - I have normal/oily skin and almost never have any breakouts. I think it's great for the pricepoint because the bottle lasts FOREVER. I've had mine for ages and it doesn't seem like it'll ever run out. I think because I really only use what's on the wand (2 dots on each check, 2 dots on forehead, 1 dot on chin, 1 dot on nose) and don't go back for more. I do NOT use it as an under-eye concealer/highlight though.. I use Mac or Nars to really get the job done.
This foundation looks absolutely awful on my skin 😩 I have oily skin but get dry skin on my nose area. It's clings to any dry patch and goes super patchy and doesn't even last a couple of hours on my skin😢....if anyone has my skin type Estée Lauder double wear foundation works a treat!🙋🏼

Hey quick question since you have similar skin type because I'm like you oily everywhere ( like dewy) except t zone is super oily how does the rainforest of the sea foundation work on you or the born this way foundation or the Kat Von d foundation and finally naked foundation I just want to know how those 4 work in you if you have any or tried these foundation so I could have a similar idea since we have similar skin tone thank you for your patience for reading this I hope you can reply soon

Do you still use this Clinique Beyond Perfection 2 in 1, 5 years later? I just picked it up and it is so drying, emphasized pores and texture, and is patchy because it is not an easy one to blend. It just isn’t flattering at all and I have combo skin so you’d think it would work well for me. Can you give me tips on how to use it? Do you use way less than traditional foundations? Does it need a damp sponge to provide moisture and allow it to blend less patchy and heavy? I want to make it work but it is one of my least favorite complexion products and usually I like most Clinique products. I have even gone to adding a moisturizer with it in the actual product so it isn’t so drying and patchy. This used to be the bees knees of foundations, but maybe that’s just because full coverage back when she reviewed it was so in. Any tips and tricks you can give me to make it work, I’d appreciate.💕

I live in Australia and we basically get an update on the circus which is occurring in your country on a nightly basis. This is the case as we are highly aligned with America, and whoever is elected will also have an impact on many countries, not just Americans. It effects nearly everyone. Fingers crossed the orange man fails as I may need to move to Mars if he is elected lol 😳
I have dry skin and my forehead breaks out a lot, and the first time I used that foundation it also clamped to my brake outs and dry patches. I recommend mixing a hydrating face oil to the foundation. I use the oliology hydrating argan oil and the foundations look so beautiful and flawless, and it doesn't clamp to my break outs and dry patches any more.
If you have oily skin DONT but this!!!! It slid all over my face and doesn't set down even with powder. I looked like you could fry chicken on my face after 2 hours!!!!🐔🍗🍗🍗

I have combination skin and you basically have to have a flawless, normal face... so this foundation is hard to make work for me.

I have the same problem. Anyone with oily skin know a good foundation with a good natural finish (not looking like makeup/cake face)? Price doesn't matter to me.

I love this foundation! I feel like people either have a really good experience with it or don't at all! I have really oily skin and it doesn't make me matte but it does look beautiful on combo to oily skin
MY RIDE OR DIE! i use alabaster and it is GREAT! you need a setting spray though. i have skin scars so i use about 2.5 pumps instead of 1 (it takes me like 15 min) but yeah i love it!!

I have oily skin. The first time I used it I really didn't care for it. Then I tried it again and I used my beauty blender and it went on way better. Later in the day it does feel a little dewy but my face still looks full coverage. I like it 👍🏼

I have been using this foundation for a few weeks and am on the fence about it also. I am in the shade "linen" which is, I believe, the lightest shade and it seems to oxidize just slightly throughout the day. It seems to cling on to my dry patches on my chin and upper lip, but the overall texture besides that, I love! It applies so well with a damp beauty sponge and it doesn't seem to cake up when powder is applied over top. I have combination to dry skin right now and other than the flaws mentioned above, I do enjoy this foundation overall!
I do not have acne prone skin as I forgot to mention above.

I've tried so many primers with this foundation and it still transfers! Other than that, I love it.
