The best performer and performance for a Super Bowl was when Prince was center stage. No offense to Sammy, who’s from the Bay Area, as am I, but Prince’s performance was mesmerizing. Still, Sammy is incredible on all levels… to this very day. I saw him in concert one time at the Cow Palace, during the 1980’s, and Sammy was ALL OVER THE PLACE. I kept having to look all around to find him. One moment he was in the rafters up above, then he was running from the rear of the stadium to the stage, then from the stage back to the rear of the stadium, etc., etc. You get the idea. As for this performance, it’s really good, but not his best. This is like the Muzak version of Sammy’s music, because it’s far too mellow. I wish that Sammy had been playing the guitar, himself, rather than just singing. He still has the chops when it comes to singing, however, just as with his guitar 🎸 skills. Although I’m closing in on my mid 60’s, I live my life like I’m still young, so my car stereo is always blaring Sammy and others whenever I’m cruising around within my car. Rock and roll should ALWAYS be played loudly, so long as you’re not ticking off people while you’re doing so. Lastly, maybe it’s just me, but this audience seems to be deader than the local cemetery. Really? That’s all of the appreciation that Sammy, Mikey, and the other performers are going to receive? Wow, that’s disappointing, if true. If I’d been there for this performance, you better believe that I’d have unleashed my Immigrant Song wail! Namely, the Viking war cry, since that’s part of my heritage. God Bless Sammy, Mikey, their band members, the contributing musicians, the performers, and the good, decent, and kind folks who are their family, friends, and acquaintances, as well as their fans.

No it's not. Pretty much only the half time show at the Super Bowl is pre-recorded tracks. Since the half time shows at regular season games aren't broadcast in their entirety (if they're broadcast at all) on TV, the NFL doesn't care and lets them play live.

I love those two, but this was not great. Sammy and Mike still got it, but the marching band, violin quartet, and The Off-Key All-Marine Choir took the whole thing down a couple notches..
The real deal💪 During his Van Halen time,Sammy was the 200% better vocalist then that clown DLR,wich had no voice at all during his comeback. And Michael didn't deserve that shit also by van Halen,they screwed him just like that. Such a shame.. Michael is a bad ass bass player 🎸👊
