I wonder why they rewrote both Billy Mitchell and Jim Branning to be nicer people than when they were introduced? It was a great decision, don’t get me wrong, but the abusive Billy from 1998 is almost a completely different character to the “loveable loser” he is in 2021.
The Billy he used to be from his early years abusive nasty piece of work and a bully from 1998 is completely different to Billy as a loveable loser. Didn't he became a loveable loser weasel in 2002 when he confronted the old guy right. Plus Billy and Jim are not the only that became nicer. Also Barry, Minty, Stuart and Terry mate remember when they were first introduced. Nigel too back in 1992 when he was only a dodgy dealer and a sleazy womanizer who had done dodgy business with Grant but wasn't a bad man but in a few months he changed quickly.
I feel like if they kept the original Billys' personality from years ago he'd be threatening Adam in an alley way to stay away from Honey or atleast do something about it rather than sort of letting it happen under his nose feel bad for him now
