It's refreshing to see you style men's hair. I know you've mentioned that you do men's hair. But it's still nice to see 🤗
The client's hair is so beautiful. Thanks for your review! The price was an instant turn off, but seeing it glide through his thick hair, makes me think mine, being thinner, would benefit from this product. I think having a lighter brush is a benefit when you're doing your own hair vs someone else's. Although I've read comments of people saying similar brushes broke.🤦🏽♀️ These companies just out of line.😂
Omg you had the same experience! I felt like I still had tangles too. And it’s so deceiving because the brush appears to be gliding through the hair with ease.
This brush took 2 months for me to get. I was thinking it would be bigger. I thought it was a kid's brush, in my opinion. I agree with you,100 percent.❤❤
I thought the same thing when I just saw him brush the first section. Truth told I rarely brush my hair, I just finger my hair when I shampoo it.
The main reason I like the Unbrush is because easier to use in the shower and clean when I’m done. I use the D38 out the shower. 7/10 times I detangle in the shower.
I’ve also found that it’s great on kid’s hair.
*THIS* is what *WE* waaaanted!! 😭🤣
I had a brush like the Unbrush and I bought it at Sally Beauty Supply. The handle was pink, the bristles were orange and the brand was Plugged In.
I just found this channel.. I love you already.. and the review of the Fucking Brush 😅😅😅😅
I love my UnBrush! I use on myself and I do have to run it through from the top and bottom (underneath) to make sure I’m completely tangle free, but it works for me.
I really bought it for my daughter who is autistic and very sensitive to anyone touching her hair, so I have to be quick. She doesn’t even flinch when I start combing her hair and that was worth the price alone.
Thank you for this. My daughter is 3 and autistic, and I struggle detangling her hair. I will try this brush. Thanks again
This was very useful to read. My daughter is on the spectrum and has moderate sensory issues with noise and touch. This gives me another reason to buy this brush.
I swear years ago I've seen unbrush at Sally's for like $3 in the comb drawers under a differentgeneric name. As soon as the unbrush hit the market its now $18 for same brush. And the generic one isnt available. And let me tell you the cheap $3 one would break eventually. But it was worth it bc it was only $3. I can't get myself to buy the unbrush bc it's so marked up in price
You’re right I had one a few years ago and got it off AliExpress for like 2/3$
Yall I am glad I didn't dream it. I used to buy it all of the time because it was so cheap and worked quickly through my texture. I switched to a tangle teezer bc I couldn't find the cheap one at Sally's any more
The disclaimer in the beginning took me all the way out 🤣 After he said all that it was like, well damn...now I absolutely have to stay & watch this video!!! I'm a first time viewer of his & this will not be my last time. I love the blunt, direct delivery & the profanity/vulgarity is just a cherry on top. I personally feel like he's honest & real. I'm tired of watching all those fake ass, glossed up videos. The realness is refreshing! 👌🏾😊
If I remember right, those brushes used to be inexpensive before certain stylists kept hyping them up.
I remember this $3 detangler brush that preceded the UnBrush. It was sold at my Sally Beauty by the brand Unplugged or Plugged In. It was cheap BUT AMAZING!! old 1 was a cute pink color but always broke after dropping lol.
I have thick hair just like his and the Unbrush is a Godsend to me. It detangles my hair dry no problem at all. It used to take me over an hr on wet hair with my little denman and now I'm done in like 20 minutes. I love it!
So I bought a brush that’s the Unbrush but without the name. It was Earnestly Natural’s. I felt the same about the overall feel of the brush too. The cheap light plastic-y feel. VERY gentle and on my first use, I was worried that it wasn’t detangling a damn thang. It did detangle pretty well tho! I liked it… Then I tried the D38 and ain’t picked it up since.
You making me want to buy it. I have brushed so many brushes and am just afraid to keep wasting my money
@@TWS1977 i hate to convince you to add another to your bundle of brushes but that D38 is worth every penny 😂 I detangle my whole head so damn fast WHEEEWWWW
@@GaDiva769 wouldn’t shock me. They def comin from the same place because it do feel like some bullshit. Detangled well but it feel so weak.
@@MajesticKeila I ended up purchasing the mini because my hair is short. Crossing my fingers..I already have the pattern, tangle teezer, felicia leatherwood and another denman that I learned isn’t for detangling
Honestly, you only have to tell me once. When you put me on to the D38 I knew it was the right brush and I wouldn’t even bother using another one. Your word is bond 💯
I absolutely love your channel. I recently picked out my Sisterlocks after being locked for 12 years. I did a big chop and got my locs shortly thereafter. Needless to say, I have no idea how to love my loose hair. I find your delivery entertaining and I love listening to you. Anyhoo...I have the Unbrush and I liked it. But I'm still learning...lol. Thanks for all you do for the natural hair community.
So I like your review as a Profesional. I bought the Unbrush, and I absolutely love mine. I also have the Denman D38, but for me, it was jyst okay. I have an odd grade of hair, though. It's 4C, but super fine, so it breaks waaay too easy when detangling. With the Unbrush I have a lot less hair in the brush when I finish detangling and it's so much faster for me. Normally, detangling can take me almost an hour, with the Unbrush it's less than 30 mins. That's a plus for me. But I'm glad you did a review and a comparison between the two. I liked your perspective.
I got the unbrushed a week ago. I ordered it by mistake and it was the best mistake I ever made after detangling my hair with it. I went in with my tangled teaser and I didn’t even need a tangled teaser. Tangled my hair perfectly love it.
Here! I want to see your opinion. I love mine for detangling! It being light is a plus for me. I like your perspective as a stylist because tools have to be ergonomic in addition to being effective for your varying clients. It is so sad you had to do a disclaimer, Narada! I want to try the D38 too.
Love the review! I bought mine on sale for less than $10 and when I tell you that “unbrush” glided through my hair like butta!! I bought one for all my kids 😂
Kiss has a dupe that is firmer than the Unbrush. I have both and Unbrush bristles are more flexible
I got the D38 brush because of you and I just want to thank you !!! I enjoy detangling my hair now 🤗 I do want to try the unbrush tho to compare myself.
@@DoubleA-ou7pj it's okay. I'm more concerned about you all knowing about the brush than making money off of it
I've been considering buying the unbrush (or a similar dupe) strictly because of the open vent design. I have to say that I dislike most paddle brushes because I detangle my hair with conditioner, and I've found it a pain to get the paddle brush completely clean. Specifically the inside because that little drainage hole lets water and product in but I'm never 100% certain that I've gotten it all out. Perhaps I'm paranoid, but I always feel like there are remnants of conditioner in there festering and that's just gross to me. I do like the size of the unbrush because I don't have big hands and I find most paddle brushes too big/awkward for my liking. I also detangle small sections at a time. I wish I could find an open vent brush with sturdier construction, I think that would be the perfect option for me.
I understand that. Letting them soak in soapy water might help pull out any product. It is annoying squeezing it all the excess liquid trapped in the brush. They need more than that lil tiny hole. All they got to do is put a drain hole near the corner of the brush or something
@@AfrikanHairGod Thank you! I will definitely try soaking in soapy water. You're absolutely right about needing a drain hole in the corner. Maybe I should just try to do that myself with a small knitting needle or something. I hadn't even thought about trying to alter it.
The best part of this video was the disclaimer! You had me rolling! It's a damn review, people! Leave our African Hair God alone! 😂
I know you're aware and probably tired of hearing it but your delivery and articulation especially of the disclaimer/warning at the beginning, ugh, chef's kiss. It's the little detils for me, you wiping off the brush before handing it to your client, I appreciated that, i enjoy your work. Greetings from the Caribbean, Narada.
Sucks you need to do a disclaimer. I don't get why people get so uptight about your opinion on these reviews! Great video, as always. I know you don't care to do these videos, but I still really appreciate it. You really don't owe us anything. You are right, I definitely learned to brush vertically from you. Thanks for always sharing your knowledge and propelling us in the Tribe 😊
I didn’t immediately love the brush and somebody called me out of my name SO BAD. I’m like “over a brush??” People are crazy these days
Beautiful head of hair 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I’m here for the disclaimer. Period!
Someone commented “your word is your bond”. That’s a top tier compliment, so profound. One you should be proud of. Continue walking in your truth. Thanks for the review. 🥰
You really see how unstable the mind is in comments on social media lol. Speaking from a psychological standpoint and I’m not even a psychologist 😅
I love your work! 🎉
This was a great and FAIR review! Nice, Narada ✨
The fact that I came to UA-cam to see about the other detangling brush that you recommended and you have a video about the unbrush, which is my second option, is crazy!!
Hey! I’m a professional stylist as well! I love the Denman d38 as well. I use it to blow dry or my Olivia garden ion brush. I use the unbrush at the shampoo bowl to pre detangle. It is very gentle so for some clients with thicker hair I switch back to my h2pro red detangling brush. It’s more sturdy.
Yasss i been waiting on this review. Thanks for reviewing!
I loved the way you detagled his hair. Seems like everyone I pay doesn't know how to comb my hair.
It’s the worst. Hairstylists don’t know I will come back and regularly if they did me right. They all comb my hair like they don’t care
Everything after "It's not that deep y'all.." sold me on anything you have and will ever say! Love your honesty ❤
Narada, I love your reviews! Watching you work with this client's hair was a nice ASMR experience. He has a beautiful head of hair and he has the best person to care for it - YOU. ❤ TFS! 😘
Thank you for the disclaimer! I'm appreciative of the warning of explicit language vs being shocked midway through the video. I like your content and will continue to watch until it gets too rough. ❤
Thanks so much for this. The way you effortlessly detangle is amazing. I use the unbrush because it's so gentle, then go in with a comb. I used your link to purchase a few things including the denman. Also i will stop detangling in the shower. I feel like I lose too much hair. Experimentation time. 😅 Thanks again for your content.
I had the “unbrush” years before it was called this🤣 I used it a couple times but those teeth are not sturdy enough long term and I end up using a denman anyway
I recently purchased the Unbrush after seeing Bianca Renee using it. My texture is similar to hers. I absolutely hate detangling but I really appreciate your thoughts. The Denman one you used looks nice too.
i've had the unbrush for a while now and i've used it on wet hair, used it while blow drying, and on dry hair that has been styled in a silk press or blow out and for me personally I only like using the unbrush on my hair when it's blow dried in a blow out or when i have a silk press. The only thing that really stood out to me when using the unbrush is how easy it is for me to wrap my hair when i have a silk press... like that's it lol. it takes seconds to a minute and the hair just stays in place without me having to keep brushing it over and over with a paddle brush to wrap it. It's not bad when it comes blow drying but it's definitely far from the best and the handle is too short to use when blow drying. I had to reposition my hand several times so i won't burn my thumb then eventually i just picked up my round brush to finish it but it is heat resistant.
Thanks for reviewing all of these brushes for us.
Thank you for all you continue to do for us throughout the years. I usually don’t comment but you have taught me a lot, may God continue to bless you always.
I have this brush! I loved it so much I bought 4 of them and gave them away to my mom and my daughters! This brush is the bomb and I used it in the same way you are using it. It made my detangling SO MUCH EASIER. I ordered it through Janeke. That is a company in Italy and they call it the Superbrush but I promise you it is the exact same brush. IT IS THE TRUTH!!!!!!
I brought that since in rush was sold out it is but I have to over it with a denman like brush
The denman 38 is supposedly very good but I don't plan on getting it because I don't need another brush. I absolutely LOVE my brush!@@lee2389
Love your reviews for your thoroughness and your disclaimers 😭😭😭
His hair is beautiful. It’s similar to mine so thank you for doing this review. I often see other textures so hard to gauge how it does on 4C ish hair.
Png never thought I would see you two in a video together! This is taking me back to the early UA-cam natural hair days!
Over a year since I cut my dreads, still getting use to hair tools again. I feel like they just cause more breakage 🤔. 4 1/2 inches long so far so I can get a way with just using an afro pic on my roots and finger detangling the rest. Great video, his hair is so lush, Im drooling!!
I enjoy your content and your commentary.
Thank you. 😃👏🏽
I liked and subscribed because of the disclaimer.
Stayed for the review. Thank you, I enjoyed everything.
Bless you!
Happy New Year omg I love youuu much real…. i shall have to book about hair care thanks
I recently bought the Unbrush and it took about three weeks for it to get here. I have not used it yet so watching your review before I actually use it is perfect timing since I’ve only had it about 12 hours now. BTW your disclaimer is everything.
Thanks for your insight for the Unbrush review! I can see the difference between the Unbrush and the Demin D38 brush. My personal vote would be Demin D38 brush since my texture is more so like the clients hair
Here before starting the video.....Narada is going to hate it...ok let's see 😂😂😂
I loved it , it was very gentle.
Thanks for the review. I just found the unbrush yesterday and was curious about people’s thoughts
Waching your video at 3:32am Narada, good morning Sir and everyone have a pleasant day 🌞
I’m so glad you did this review because I’ve been very curious about it. I’m going to stick with my Denman D38! 💯 Thank you for the video. 🥰
Content so refreshing wish I could get my hair done by you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This video was utterly and completely hilarious and I'm dead on the disclaimer 💀😂😂
Thank you for sharing. I am very tender, headed an my hair has been ripped out. By other hair tools 4 years... I'm excited i'm gonna purchase both.😊😘
Omg I love his hair!!! It’s so luscious!!!
The unbrush just seems like one of the many knockoffs of the flexibrush tbh. Brushes aren’t one size fits all so I’m glad it works for some ppl. I was super curious about your opinion on it and I’m glad it wasn’t terrible
Appreciate the review cause I been waiting 2 weeks for this brush. I’m hoping it’s a godsend cause my hair has felt impossible to deal with since moving to Japan. If it don’t beat out the tools I already have, sending it right back.
im cracking tf up! its a review as a fucking brush! yes! LOL
Not me having to pause the video to go look up proclivity! 😂 I love it ❤
Thank you for doing this review. I have the UnBrush & I do like it. I feel like it gently detangles my fine type 4 hair. I might have to get the D38 and that's it! No more tools for me. 🙅🏽♀️
You’re doing a great job handling your clients hair. The way I see hair glide through the Denman brush is the level of detangling I’m accustomed to. When I see 4c hair frizz up after detangling, that’s not the look I’m typically going for
Finally a video that stroke that thang the way my hair is best detangled. It was ASMR for me. Thank you for this video
Thanks for this review. My unbrush broke on week 2. 😢
Thanks for the review. What a beautiful head of hair! Were there any sections where you started with the Denman and then follows up with the UnBrush?
Yeah but it didn't make sense. At that point I didn't even need the unbrush
This review!! Honey, you are too hilarious!! Keep it up!!
Thanks for this review. One of my favorite UA-camrs has been using it, and I looked on the website and just couldn't see it. I will go check out that Denman 38 though.
Let me tell you somethiiiiiiiing!!! I have so much respect for you. And I WILL make time to get to the salon and let you or Henny work y'all magic.
I only tried tangle teezer-style brushes/cheapy $1 shower brushes and I love them but I think the denman d38 will be even better since it can spread the hairs apart like u mentioned, but i can't afford it, and i couldn't find a brush with the same qualities(paddle brush/no balls) do u think i should buy the unbrush or a paddle brush with ball tips (similar to spornet ion brush)???
Hey what you suggest for women going through hormonal changes and thinning hair?
This is about to be a long comment.
I recently got the denman D38 and woah! I was very impressed with how gentle it is, even on my sensitive crown area. I didn't have a headache and a sore scalp afterwards. That's always a win for me!! So, thank you for recommending the tool. The handle is also ergonomic, but I prefer to hold it by its head for better grip (small hands coated in product = zero grip. If anyone has suggestions, I'm open to hearing them). I was a little scared of the bristles being too stiff, but the rubber cushioning makes the brush have a lot of give when it encounters a tangle.
Because its a thorough detangling tool, it confirmed to me just where and how badly my hair had broken off (hard water damage). It reminds me of the client you had with the same and you mentioned you could see a line of demarcation from where the hair grew out after couple of months of her being in an area with softer water. Truly fascinating, but sad because damn, my hair really should have been thicker and healthier this whole time.
At least I can see its growing back🥲🥲
Based on what you've said, I am tempted to try the unbrush, just to have a gentle detangle sesh' tool. Thanks for your review💜
That disclaimer had me cackling and is the reason why l love your channel....keep up the good work
Would a client be able to bring their own products due to medical scalp conditions?
I just got the unbrush after my brother had one and I was detangling his hair with it. I love it when I used it last week for the first time and I’ll definitely try the denman D38. I have tried other brushes before and never worked for my fine strands medium dense hair. Thanks for your input in the video, i thoroughly enjoyed it.
My favorite brush hands down! Perfect for my fine strands.
Great review. Thanks.
Lol just for tips when I take my braids down should I wash first then detangle? Or detangle then wash? I just want to make sure I’m doing it right I’m trying to learn to twist my hair like this and I just ordered the denman 38 fingers cross it helps my thick 4c hair lol.
Reminds me of a old school wig brush. Thanks for sharing.
I love how he did the disclaimer in the beginning of the video because some of yall be heartbroken over these reviews😂😂😂
Love your reviews ❤! I’m going to try the denman d38 from your Amazon store, I appreciate cursing & checking! Keep going brother!
Funny thing Sally's Beauty used to sell that brush. It was by Unplugged. It was actually a blowdry brush but for naturals it detangled like a dream. All of my girls are 4c. We loved it. No hair snagging or anything. The drawback was that the framing around the brush was weak. It would crack easily.
Your disclaimers were hilarious. My exact sentiments, including the F-bombs. Thanks for this review.
I bought my “hollow brush” from TEMU for less than 3 dollars. I just couldn’t see myself spending $18 on a brush I wasn’t sure I’d like. Ofc it’s a knock off so it doesn’t have the same bristles but it’s still very effective. I thought it was lightweight and had a cheap plastic-y feel but again I only paid $3 for it. It works well enough for me but it works better for my daughter’s type 3 curly hair. I do sometimes use a wide-tooth comb to detangle first then I go in with the [unbrush]. Thank you Narada for doing this review.
And yes I also learned to comb/brush vertically first from you as well ☺️ thank you so much for all your great content
😅😅😅lmaoooo hilarious I love ❤️ my people… dammit I subscribed from the read alone at the beginning
Proclivities 😂I never heard of that word until today…. And I love your tone, delivery and directness😂
Lol! I love you're straight forward 😅
I’m curious as to what the comparison between the denman and the tangle teaser wet brush? I like the tangle teaser but I’m wondering if the longer bristles on the denman make a difference. I have really thick hair and the only thing I don’t like is how shallow the bristles are. I held off on buying the um brush because the bristles looked too far apart to get smaller tangles that I’m prone to glad this confirmed my suspicions.
Hey love I have some questions about the application of the leave in products…
I notice that you and other stylists mist/spray the products on the outer perimeter of the head and not on individual sections…
Is this normal practice?
How does the product get applied to each strand of hair?
Is it necessary for the product to reach each strand?
For example the heat protection spray…
Would it not be important for every strand to be coated with the product to protect from heat damage?
Please help me understand.
Signed,
A Curious auntie with two nieces who want silk presses.. 🥰
@AfrikanHairGod is it a healthier practice to detangle damp hair rather than wet hair in the shower? Does this reduce breakage when detangling? I’d love if you can discuss in one of your detangling videos 💕
He has discussed it in one of his old videos. It's called "how to easily detangle your natural hair"
My stylist uses the Phillips Flexx brush on my hair. I never got it cause it seems to be always sold out (online and through my stylist) so I use the Unbrush for now.
Loveeeeee the disclaimer for these weird ppl😒. Thank you for the review. This brush is hot everywhere i look. Me personally, im fine with my tangle teaser. I woukd think that the unbrush wouldnt get all rangles out bc rhe bristles are close enough🤷 or has less than the denman or something like the tangle teaser. I just want to say i love his hair!!! Is this high density bc baby his hair is thick!!! I miss mine being a higher density bc after covid, my hair fell out really bad and to me, its low density now and i already have fine strands🙄
I love your energy:)
I love your commentary!!
I absolutely love the d38 , it’s perfect with no ball point tips ! I’ve been using I for a few years now. I thought this would be a good backup brush
His hair is not what I consider tangle......
It's not.... What's your point? It's evident that you didn't listen to the beginning of the video....
@@AfrikanHairGod My point is I thought a video about a detangling brush would be a demonstration showing how well the brush work for detangling hair.
Once I saw his hair wasn't tangle, I didn't waste my time watching the full video.
The purpose of me clicking on the video was to see how well the brush detangled.
@lynwil2286 great for you. 👍 So you heard me say I predetangled his hair and proceeded to leave a comment reiterating what was already said? I hope you find what you are looking for. Clearly this channel isn't the one for you. Maybe you should create your own channel so that you can create the content that you want to see.
