- Join us as we all get Movin' Right Along into 2021 with a song in our hearts, a banjo on our knee, and a bear behind the wheel. Happy New Year!!! ….from The Muppets.
The technology's advancing, the times are different, but THIS is how you incorporate the Muppets into it. Using the tech like the canvas the same way that Jim Henson saw the potential in the television screen, making corny jokes and... really, just letting the Muppets do their thing instead of trying to be 'relevant'. This is good. More of THIS, please.

The most unrealistic thing about this video is the idea that Fozzie's house would be decorate in neutrals and tasteful.

I'd agree with you… except it was established back in the 80s that Fozzie lives with his Mother, who keeps a very tidy house. She was NOT happy when it was invaded by Muppets, Sesame Street, & Fraggles.
@@Soufriere84 well, he lived with her up until he met Kermit. He only visits his mother in “ a muppet family Christmas”. The muppets living space has always been up for debates and never really canonically confirmed. For example, in “the muppet from space”, they all live in one big house together.

This is a stellar performance of a classic song. Kermit and Fozzie’s relationship is great. I love how all the little added bits are unique, but true to form. It looks like Eric and Matt have moved over time from holy reverence of the characters to playful respect.

There's so much more to being Kermit than sounding exactly like Jim Henson voicing Kermit, but we have the luxury of overlooking it. Matt's Kermit acts like Jim's Kermit and moves like Jim's Kermit closely enough that we can overlook it. the three-legged stool of personality, movement, and voice will always have one short leg. That short leg, when watching a "new" performer performing an old character, will always be criticized no matter how good the new performer is.

Last time I heard the new voice I was pretty upset. I think he sings as Kermit a lot better than he speaks as Kermit. Hopefully he'll continue improving, I like where it's going.

Hey disney+ please put up the old muppet shows. Also more Kermit songs.
No chance of us getting the old Muppet show on Disney+, just ZERO chance. The costs for music rights and use of celebrities’ likeness is FAR greater than any profit they would get, especially with streaming.

I actually spoke to a Disney+ advisor, and she said the reason they’re not up there yet is because they needed dubbing in to all the different languages. There are a lot of episodes, and a lot of languages. One thing the advisor promised, and I made sure I got a straight answer from her when I asked, is that the origional muppet show IS going up on Disney+ in the future. Can’t say when though.
@@spaggymerbles I’ll believe when I see it. They gave up on the DVD releases after season 3 many years ago, so I’m very doubtful it will ever be on Disney+, again I’ll believe when I see it. Especially hard to believe in that there’s any actual money in getting the Muppet Show on Disney+

Matt Vogel's Kermit has gotten a lot better! Of course he's no Jim, he's not Steve either, but he does need to be. He's Matt! Also as someone noticing more gray hairs on their head, it makes me happy to see the decision to let Fozzie age and have gray eyebrows!

This is my driving song. Even if the muppets are a kids property, for some reason i never feel 'too old' for them. I love listening to this while i pass all those signs, just moving right along.

Sadly, Legal and music rights would be extremely expensive for both the songs sung/used and the many celebrities featured on the show.

They are working on it. They are redubbing so that it's available in all the languages the other content is in. It may take a bit. However, because of the aforementioned music and celebrate likeness fees, there is a good chance some episodes will be unavailable.

He's sounding closer to Jim, but it's still quite difficult to get used to.
The 1979 version was performed by Jim Henson and Frank Oz. And now the 2021 version was performed by Matt Vogel and Eric Jacobson.

Just re-watched the original 1979 Muppet Movie last night w/ my 7-year-old son! Classic memory of watching this as a child w/ my own father when I was 8. Didn't realize Kermit & Fozzie had done this new video of this awesome song! :-D AWESOME!!

Still, he has a ways to go, but he is doing better. Still, it's not easy being green, even for a voice actor for a frog.
