I love how this video doesn’t blame white people or the system but just shows the dark reality of kids growing up in the streets vs the suburbs both with the same dreams and ambitions and how there situations and environment affects there decisions while still acknowledging that it’s is still ultimately there own decision us black people have to stop blaming others for our problems regardless of who’s fault they are and take control of our lives And stop killing our brothers and sisters over shit that isn’t worth our lives or imprisonment . Absolutely beautiful video 🖤🖤🖤
ultimately though, people are products of their environment. I don't think this was about blaming other people for our problems, but more about recognizing that growing up with different resources and options leave you with different futures. the black kid in the video never blamed someone for his problems. but even though him and the white kid had the same dreams, they had different problems. The other kid had a nice home, both parents, and the money to afford chasing his dreams. While the first kid had a dad in the streets, was in poverty, and was surrounded by gangs and drugs. the black kid had to give up on his dreams early to make sure his family was taken care of. even though he chose the wrong life style, it was all he knew and for him was just a way out.
I grew up extremely poor. I don't remember how many times I was evicted. My dad was too proud to take welfare or any government aid. My whole teenage life I didn't have heat or running water mostly what would happen was winter would come around and my dad didn't pay the heating bills or electric bills...house would get too cold water pipes would always burst.. I dropped out of high school at 16 and started working 50 hours a week as a dishwasher. At 18 I got myself into a lot of legal trouble and went to jail. One thing I've noticed is that its pretty common for poor people to make poor decisions because they have poor choices making it easier to make bad decisions. Jail at 18 woke me up. I was 18 now . I'm responsible for what I do. I just went to work. I busted my butt . Now I have a good job, a car, a house in a gated community, a beautiful wife, a jetski...I'm proud of myself because I know how hard I worked. I know what poor is. I invested in myself to change my choices and luckily it worked out for me.
"I love that this doesn't want to fix the problems or situations people find themselves in and just wants everyone to universally be strong and able to escape these systems and problem" Aight ignorant ass

"what do you want to be when you grow up?" that simple question is based on circumstances, of what will or may not happen. In the perfect world, things would be better, wouldn't be so many broken dreams; but this isn't a perfect world, is what we weren't told.

This is one of the best story telling I have seen in a long time I fr had to listen to this 2 times bc it was showing how kids growing up in the system are not bad kids they are just trying to do the best for there families this almost made me cry love this man
This is so beautiful and amazing! Racialism, discrimination, sterotyping, and enslavement is a vital foundation in the African American community. But so is gang violence and Black on Black deaths. We have to make sure we're not the weapon formed against ourselves that's causing us not to prosper. I know it's easier said then done but overcoming financial hardship. While, self educating oneself on different verticals can open multiple legal ways to make money. Creating avenues to never position oneself or any love ones into financial hardship again. I know because I am her and she is me. I was once that kid. ❤
I admire your work, you're an artist. I appreciate that you use your platform to spread awareness, such as this-the system is set up this way, so the white and wealthy people have it good yet we all dreams and aspirations. It breaks my heart, but you're music like this talk about difficult topics which should be talked about if we want to fix it all. Thank you!
Thank you so much !!! This video was more about opportunity vs. no opportunity than white vs black , but I appreciate you and your support!!! God bless 🙌🙏💛
I promise it's not about black and white. It's about recognizing opportunity and taking heed. I'm mixed. Seen all sides. Mom tried drowning me when I was 2 got adopted to successful white parents who split, remarried multiple times, got beat, disabled sister abused in the worst way, and anything else in between you name it. I ran back to my roots and from chosen struggle I found opportunities to cultivate and build a driven movement within myself tying together roofing with tiny homes, Honey, cannabis, and OT. Get real with yourselves and go along all alone if your people dont be your people.
@@andrewwright8391 it is about black n white, racism takes a big part in how a person feels especially when your own people side with the whites. makes you feel like your worthless. and maybe he shouldn’t have done a side to side like this and more of praising your skin color no matter what you are. but i can definitely tell you racism plays a big part in this world
@@JaySiMusic - Racism mainly exists only with the people who *insist* on being victims (usually imagined), or being some sort of "savior." Do you know in Oregon they lowered the standards for "pocs" in reading and math for graduation? You know why? Because it's "racist" to expect them to do the same work, apparently, or to believe they're just as capable to do it. We'll ignore the long-standing lowered standards for college, though. We'll ignore the pocs that *protested against* this move. We'll ignore the long list of "hate crime" hoaxes people pulled "in the name of eQuaLitY" too, hm? Aside from that, dude, the artist just said it wasn't about Black vs White, sooooo......

This is one of the best story telling I have seen in a long time I fr had to listen to this 2 times bc it was showing how kids growing up in the system are not bad kids they are just trying to do the best for there families this almost made me cry love this man
Love the songs you’ve helped through all of my struggles
This brought tears rolling down my eyes i love your songs
Now this is what you call art.
Beautiful.
Amazing song. Always the best storytelling, one of the best of all time.
I just happen bump into this and let me tell you ty for painting a picture that is very sensitive to touch. This brought so many emotions
@@andrewwright8391 ur right. Some r blessed w more than others
Dang this is facts there's limited resources to do big things I love how he speaks the truth and isn't afraid to show it in his music he's very talented
I absolutely LOVE this song/video... really hit home for me. Thank you. This business needs a lot more YelloPain and a whole lot less of the BS that we're being fed 💪 #Respect
