Billy ruffians was the nickname of a ship in nelson's navy called hms bellerophon that took part in many bloody battles,including trafalgar,it was also the ship that napoleon surrendered on.Many brave men fought and died on this ship,and this brilliant song is a perfect tribute to them!Only the blue cats could make a song like this,they don't and never have sounded like anybody else,good work guys!!!!

This is unbelievably brilliant!!! Proof once and for all that the Blue Cats are the greatest Neo-Rockabilly band of all time. They’ve been copied and ripped off, but never equalled. The combination of Clint Bradley and the Edwards brothers is unbeatable. This will become a classic!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the world wasn't ready for such a good band. they are as avant garde and advanced for they time as gene vincent and blue caps were. just futurist. at least they haven't been burnt in the bonfire as Copernico was for discovering the Earth is not the center of the world. the guitar work is awesome and classic, a trademark, and in my opinion a must study for any guitarist. just amazing and a out of this world as Cliff Gallup was. drummer has a great technique , bassist gives such a tight and straight forward pulse...they built up their own great style and brought rockabilly some steps forward, they made it evolve and gave it new fresh air. they should be as "well known and famous" as the Stray Cats. this is such and underrated band. typical of this world were we must hear only Shakira, Justin Biber and so on... I had the opportunity of see them live and was amazing, I loved the cover version they made of Deep Purple's "Highway Star"

They have still got it have I loved this band for 30 or so years and a lot of of younger bands could learn off these lads AWESOME !
Have no words for it, really....its smashing, the whole cd....seems they are getting better and better as the years go by. And the were already my favo band in the 80''s with their own sound.

Just got their new album ‘Best Dawn Yet’ WOW! it’s a true masterpiece! 12 brilliantly crafted songs of intelligent and thought provoking Neo Rockabilly, superbly played, sung and written. The Blue Cats are definitely in a league of their own, they take the genre to another level entirely.

I came back for another listen to this yet again, must have watched it 20 times now. I discovered this band late but caught up on their history quickly, from Fightback to G-Men and Beltane Fire, The Tunnel, and now this MASTERPEICE! They’ve made the genre intelligent and powerful without losing their roots. They are a truly brilliant band and deserve respect and support. I’ts very very seldom that a band of this quality comes along. May they live forever!!!!!!!!!
