- What a great day for a bike race! Unusually warm temps for this time of year made for a great event. There were a few new features such as Shaw Rd. and some private land two track which were welcomed changes. When I first edited of the footage, I was left with nearly 2 hours of things I thought were cool. So, a lot didn't make it into the video. I guess you'll have to come see it for yourself next year. Thanks for watching!
It was really cool to hangout with everyone after the event as well. Thanks to anyone who said "Hi". I was in a bit of a daze after the race so I apologize if I didn't seem very "with it" lol.

All of you that rode this race are incredible. I led the 62 mile on my dual sport motorcycle, and I was blown away at how the riders behind me never let up. What a great event!
Good video. I live in the area. I’m so glad this eve is enjoyed by many.
Legit Results Travis, Great riding, that coaching is really paying off. See you this weekend.
See you out there, hoping the rain fades out of the forecast.
Awesome. Love seeing your races. I just got a gravel bike this off-season and these videos are very motivating. Hope I can get my first gravel race in this year, still getting into shape!
Thanks! Goodluck when you get to the start line this year!
That sprint finish at the end must have felt great.
It did!!
Huge progress for sure. This course also 3 miles longer and tougher thab last year, right?
On a bright side, Nice weather, more aero lighter clothing probably helps a bit with PR.
Solid work! Brutal race with all that sand pits))
Loved this race. Was my very first with 2 other friends. We weren't competitive but the course was gorgeous along with the weather. The people were great too! :)
Good work! Awesome video recap.
I love your content. Congrats on the improvement!
Great finish on the Waterloo course. Nasty roads and 60 miles yikes. You are strong. From j jones.
Thx for posting this! Really enjoyed watching and great result. The road I think you called “Stagger” reminds me of Hickman Cty, Tn (but we don’t have the sandy parts, at least that I’ve seen).. you might consider coming here for The Gravel Revival Race in Oct.. and each spring there’s another ride called The Gosh Darn Gravel Ride with super cool course (lotsa crazy creek crossings etc).
You have some of the best commentary and race breakdowns and I've seen a lot of recaps. Great job. Looks like wave 1 got pretty gnarly in some spots, so perhaps wave 2 was a good, if unintentional, move.
Great footage I made my way to this race for the first time and did the Phsyco killer 100m. What a great event
Nice1. Well Done.,Epic event.
Congrats on the race. Really enjoyed this video, your commentary is positive and informative. Good vibes all around. You'd make a great coach. Would like to see a bike check video and all the stuff used. Just subscribed.
regarding a 1x drive train for climbing: a lot of times they're a 1:1 or close to 1:1 ratio (ie: 40 or 42 chainring combined with 42 lowest gear) which is as good or better than having a 2x, which might have a 34 chainring and 32 lowest gear.
.
1x is really only a disadvantage at higher speeds with the stock chainring.
Thanx for sharing🚵🎉
Great video 🎉
im in the beginning of the video for the wave one starting :)
Nice!
Good luck this weekend. The strong riders start near the front. Easier to fall back a little than moving up past slower riders. Your a strong cyclist but you have to learn how to race ha. The strongest doesn’t always win or place high. Your videos are great your getting better every race. Hope the weather stays good for the event.
Thanks! You're absolutely right. I'm hoping to build some confidance this season to start and stay more near the front.
Hello! What are you planning on wearing on Saturday? In between weather is annoying. I hope to see you 🤝
Bought a GoPro after watching your videos. Awesome videos and commentary by the way. What do you use to measure power?
Thanks! I use Garmin Rally XC 100 pedals. This is the first year I've used them and I am a big fan.
What do you use to measure your power?
Congrats on a nice race! I see you watched Dylans video about the uswe ;)
Lol I got lucky and bought the right pack last year! I heard about his video though and how they sold out of them shortly after.
@@thumbcyclist lol, yea, I bought one too!
@thumbcyclist Are you done racing foe the year?
@@MrHatt7777 I'll be back! Just doing a little reset. Should be back in August.
How do you get your power output readings?
I use Garmin Rally power pedals that connect to my Garmin head unit. The power shows up there and is saved. Then I connect it to my computer and copy the file into a program called Virb to see the data on screen.
What did you do for fueling. Carbs per hour?
I typically shoot for a 20-ish carb gel every 20 minutes. So roughly 60 grams an hour give or take. If it's tough to get gels in at the start, I'll rely on drink mixes in bottles with similar carb amounts.
Thanks 😊
how is a tandem ahead of you 20 miles in ??..did you have a bad starting posistion?
