@picursio I still have a question,..what do you mean by its a Tag Your It game?? how was it in the past?? im still kinda new, so i want as much advise as possible :)
judging? who are the judges? are the past champions or just judges that took "tests" about kumite? The quality of judging is just as important in high caliber fighting as the fighters.
Great video. Poor judge2. two actions right on his face and mienai. (from a total of 6 or 7 in the match) The last ippon was very very doubtfull almost auchi but Nyugen take the iniciative...hm oh well
I personally agree that karate has turned into a sport, but this is done so that karate can get into the Olympics. These days, martial art is no longer about fighting for survival anymore. Instructors are more interested in the development of character.
Clearly blue is not a happy camper. I thought on Encho Sen the head judge had his hand out for blue then switched to red. More to the point there were clearer points waved away (actually from aka) and then they gave this highly dubious decision.
@11033066099 In the past, Karatekas did not jump like this as the idea was to make Kumite as closely related to life and death simulations. I don't mean that everyone had to be afraid to have their teeth smashed out by excesive contact, but contact was something you expected. Now days, Karatekas get a little contact and they complaint and cry like babies to coaches and judges. I just advice people to look carefully and choose a school that fit their ideal training and what they're looking for.
Pesonally I rather train a style that will teach you real defensive techniques! A straight oie tsuki does not work in a real confrontation. Shotokan, Gosoku Ryu, Shoko Ryu are some of the styles that teach good strong evasive techniques. But brothers and sisters remember this is only my oppinion and I speak according to my 30 years of Japanese Karate Do Training!!!!
You could train Renbu Kai until hell freezes over but you could never hope to defeat my Kaioken style. I am the one true disciple of King Kai and you are but an old and insolent fool!
Very poor judging. Sen-no-sen or Go-no-Sen is pretty much ignored completely. 90+% of the time, whoever is moving forward gets the point even if the person gets hit completely. Example of great athletes, extremely poor judges.
Peace of mind if you want to go around calling yourself a karate "do" practitioner. George Kotaka is humble and more than combat capable. To be completely honest someone like you couldn't hope to stand a chance against him due to his speed, power, and athleticism. You and your sensei alike should be embarrased. You should be embarrased that after 29 years of training you still feel the need to make threats and outrageous claims and youtube and your sensei....well that's a whole other story lol.

When I see what the WKF is doing to Karate Do it makes me sad. Karate Do has become a wimp's sport and nothing but a jumping "tap your it" game. Sad, very sad.... And before you give me the who are you?? question, I have practice Renbukai Karate Do for 29 years, so think before you question my comment....

Great match! George did it very well. In the last 2 points, Kotaka's technique was awesome!
Kotaka Sensei, good job in taking that victory ✌
IT IS NOT ABOUT STYLES!! AT THE END IT IS ABOUT THE ONE WHICH TEACHES YOU TO DEFENDE YOUR LIFE, YOUR HOUSE AND YOUR COUNTRY.
I agree with jrshoto007...the last ippon was a bit doubtful...I couldn't tell who scored...
@picursio I still have a question,..what do you mean by its a Tag Your It game?? how was it in the past?? im still kinda new, so i want as much advise as possible :)
so which style wud you preffer?
@picursio Your caps lock key seems to be stuck. Not sure if you noticed.
George got that punch at the end because he had more zanchin (focus before and after the punch) because Nguyen kinda backed up.
long waiting time
why is this footage sped up?

muy polemico, punto para el vietnamita, para mi ganó
i love how the dead guy is taken away at 3:45! :)
😆😆😆 Didn't notice that.
Grabe error de Sushin, en dar el punto a Aka, fue primero Ao.

both are great fighters...but i don't think any of us are in a position to judge who won or not. what happened, happened.
I also think that nguyen's gyaku-zuki hitted the target area during thje encho-sen... poor judge..
Definitely Nguyen is the winner in this match, u guys can say whatever u want or giving me "poor comment"...i dont care...i believe my own eyes.

On the last punch, George had more spirit I think, he also had better technique
3:40 in background thats me :D
Nguyen Ngoc Thanh is better for sure but G.Kotaka took the advantage!

Chiến thắng tưởng chừng nằm trong tầm tay

Apparently not.

Nope, Kotaka wasnt faster cuz the step-in chudan-suki of Nguyen was in a very good timing...
o atleta AO mereceu ganhar, foi prejudicado com uma arbitragem ruim.
anh thanh danh rat tot
kloun.blue gloves vs kloun.red gloves......
interesting where is Karate.....
@WilGKR I AGREE WITH YOU. IT JUST MAKES ME SAD TO SEE PEOPLE FROM THE WKF TURNING KARATE DO INTO A BUNCH OF GARBAGE.
pause 5:01 see who win

i think Nguyen won the fight
