Hey, that Tiger GameCom Castlevania SotN is shockingly pretty good!! An unfinished build leaked last year and despite not releasing, it was nearly finished!

Mine was Half Life 1 on the Dreamcast. I went all the way to FYE with my savings on the day of "release" only to be met with a poster of the game outside the store.. further peaking my excitement, then finding out inside that they didn't have it.
The one cancelled game I wanted has to be Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution. The game was announced on March 2003, but never saw the light of day, and from everything I've seen, it looked quite promising. The graphics looked gorgeous, the mechanics looked interesting and fun, but sadly, development would be halted by 2004 when it was half finished. We did eventually get Shantae: Risky's Revenge and later sequels, but they're not quite the same, as Shantae Advance was more like Shantae GBC in terms of overall charm. But on the bright side, something unexpected happened, at LRG3 2023, Shantae Advance would be announced, as a full native GBA game, and seeing that announcement trailer shocked me, as Mr. Bozon got some of the original team to finish Shantae Advance using the tools, assets and source code from the GBA era, and the game in the LRG3 trailer looked pretty much identical to the 2003 screenshots. Long story short: Shantae Advance getting cancelled was devastating, but it's now coming back as a full game somehow, and will bridge the gap between GBC and Risky's Revenge.
I was a huge fan of Eternal Champions for the Sega Genesis as a kid. Somehow... it had this uniqueness that was undiscovered compared with its competitors, Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat...
honestly that Starcraft Ghost game on OG Xbox looked good and almost finished, a cool stealth action game as that Ghost character would have been fun at the time.
When Mega Man Legends 3 got canceled back in 2011, that really hurt my feeling. just like Shemue 2 for the Dreamcast, The story of Megaman Legends series was not finished and Mega Man legends 3 could've been an opportunity the finished the storyline properly. Megaman legends 2 is one of games that needs a sequel.
Atari Jaguar's BLACK ICE / WHITE NOISE. This game legit looked 64-bits (the developers took the Atari Jaguar and actually utilized the hardware). This game would have been awesome... if it had been released. Why didn't it release? It was being developed as Atari was slowly going out of business. Development stopped when Atari imploded. There is a playable build of the game online (it's NOT complete, but from what they completed, BLACK ICE / WHITE NOISE is cool).
For me it’s two games that you mentioned eternal champions on the Sega Saturn, that was the reason why I chose to buy a Sega Saturn!!!. I hope this brings you comfort, when it was canceled I called up Sega and cursed out the person who answered the complaint line (I was around 13 at a time) and Castlevania on the Dreamcast I was really looking forward to that game. And you’re right I did play it and I agree with everything you said about the tech demo I think it could’ve been something really special as well. But anyway great video keep up the good work
My biggest disappointment was Killer Instinct never coming out at home for the Ultra 64. We were promised an exact arcade port and we never got it. I didn't get to play it until 7-8 years later in 2002 via modded OG Xbox.
Agreed ! I hyped up the 64 and Killer Instinct saying it’s going to destroy anything PS and Sega throws out to my friends . My friends gave me lots of crap years later for that to this days lol .
The only cancelled game I ever wanted was Nightmare Creatures 3, I was a huge fan of that series and definitely the target audience, I loved the design of the monsters and just loved the games in general, and I saw the trailer when it first was revealed and got really excited. Not so long after, Kalisto Entertainment went bankrupt, it was devastating.
For me it was Eternal Champions for the Saturn. I really wanted that game because the Sega cd version was pretty much my favorite fighting game at the time. From what I’ve heard the development was about 3/4 done on the game but then Sega big shots decided that they only wanted 3d fighters on the system to show off what it could do, therefore Eternal champions Saturn was cancelled. Hopefully one day the incomplete Saturn version will show up so we can see what it would have been.
One I remember seeing and wanting was a game called B.C. on the og xbox. You played as a caveman in what looked like an open world with dinosaurs. It looked like a great game but for whatever reason it was canceled and never came out.
For me it was Secret of Mana 2/Seiken Densetsu 3… That one hurt so bad! I loved Secret of Mana so, so much, and Secret of Mana 2 was in magazines being previewed since it was out in Japan already, showing off amazing artwork and the ridiculously awesome-looking characters, so to say that I was super hyped would be an understatement. So from then on I kept checking for it, hoping to see more and more of it each month until release, but then it was just radio silence and I started calling all the stores and asking etc. I couldn’t accept that it just seemingly disappeared from being released and nobody knew anything about this… then sometime a few years later in middle school I saw in a gaming magazine that it got canceled over here in place of Secret of Evermore… which I also loved lol. But yeah it was salt in the wound to see it again and learn of its fate. Then a couple years later I found out about emulation and finally got to play it smile😊…but it wasn’t the same experience at all I would’ve had playing it legit if it was released. Crazy to think nowadays that Seiken Densetsu 3 was held back from us!

I always wanted Black & White for the PS1 as a kid. I remember buying the official playstation magazine in the UK that had it as the main feature on the front cover. It never came out in the end. I did get it on PC but always wondered how that ps1 version would have played
I'm not sure about universe looked but the idea lives on in Mega Man Maker fan game. They even ran it at SGDQ recently. Sonic Xteme hurts a bit because some concept art shows that Sally Acorn might have been game at some point.
the cancelled stargate FPS from the PS2 era will always stick with me as a cancelled game I've always wanted to play. Also the mega man 1 remake on psp 'Mega Man Powered up' had a level creator so it does exist offically just without the online sharing (at least any more).
The biggest one for me being Star Fox 2 for the SNES. I saw it in a magazine after recently getting into the original after buying it used in 94-95. But eventually we did get a release on the SNES Classic Mini. Also Shadow Hawk was another. It was an Image Comics super hero. Who had a game planned for SNES that never came out. And the most infamous, Thrill Kill for the PlayStation! But if the game was never cancelled we wouldn't have gotten the Wu-Tang Shaolin Style fight game.
Oh man. The cancelled Castlevania game for the Dreamcast was a heartbreaker for me. Like you, I remember seeing the pics in the magazines and the video advertisements for it. I'd go to the local EB on my days off looking for information on release and pre-order information but kept getting frustrated when I'd get no news. Then like you say, it suddenly disappeared and shortly after Sega made the announcement that they Dreamcast was getting cancelled. I wonder if Konami knew something or saw the writing on the wall before it was official. I think there was also a cancelled Castlevania game for the 32x called "Castelevania The Bloodeletting" but I think it was strictly rumors not anything concrete planned.
Honestly i was only 1 or 2 when it was gonna come out but Jurassic Park Survival was a dream game for me, trailers and everything came out and then it was cancelled :/ just always wished i could get my hands on it
Star Wars 1313, Scalebound, Silent Hills, Megaman Legends 3 and the most recent Star Wars KOTOR 2 remaster/remake. Wasn't canceled but Mother 3 still needs to be localized.
City of the Dead for the PS2. I remember having a demo disc as a kid with a trailer for the game on it that showed gameplay and honestly it looked kind of sick. I didn't even know it was cancelled until maybe years later when I decided to look into it.
Castlevania resurrection looks very souls like. It would have been a trip to have a game like that back on the Dreamcast. It was such a special console for me as it was the first one I bought with my own money. I studied everything about the Dreamcast and dreamed 😂 about how awesome it was going to be when it came out. It was still a very special console that gave me so many fun times and then the games dried up.
Great video. For me, The cancelled game that hurts me the most is Primal Rage 2. It had some interesting ideas and thanks to gruntzilla, got the game playable on emulation, and it plays a lot better than 1. Too bad midway bought out time warner so they can cancel it. I always felt Primal Rage could've been a big franchise. :(
For me... it was Dinosaur Planet. I saw it on every Nintendo magazine, super hyped! Rare made all my favorite games with Nintendo... and it was "cancelled", well, we know the truth, but I could never afford a Gamecube for Start Fox Adventures.
@@MyRetroLifeyes sir! I actually got to talk with the creator of Tak and he was kind enough to tell me some of the concepts from the game unfortunately it didn’t get to far because Disney bought Avalanche Software in 2005, it’s actually a miracle that Tak 3 came out because of the acquisition and in my opinion the series went out with a bang! Tak the Great Juju Challenge or Tak 3 for short was even up for best action adventure game of 2005 but RE4 beat it another one of my favorite games! :)

Great Video! With all the recent previously unreleased games getting new life on the Nintendo Switch and other Limited Run game releases (like the unreleased Garbage Pail Kids NES games and Cannon Dancer:Osman); maybe we will see some of these games in the future. Heck; the upcoming Sonic Superstars; seems to be the evolved version of Sonic Extreme; (which this video has now made me more hype for.
I have seen the raisins game talked about a couple of times throughout the years. I think the game would be weird and funny. I love these wonderful retro game videos. Cool video. ^_^

Nice video. I'm fortunate to have hard copies of half of these games you mentioned, and I have to agree... it's painful we didn't get to see these games fully fleshed out and released to the masses. Castlevania and Sonic X-treme in particular were two I REALLY wanted to see. I do have a Castlevania Resurrection hard copy and I agree... they were on to something. Would have looked really good on the Dreamcast.
Great video Tyler! For me personally, that game would be Star Wars Battlefront III. I have to ask where did you buy that TG16 hat??? It's sick man! I love it!
I also was looking forward to Propeller Arena for the multi-player aspects and was very bummed when it didn't release. There still aren't many similar games. I didn't know there was a ROM available. I'll have to check that out, thanks.
Highlander, early ps3 era, you would go through early era scotland, roman age, revolution, stuff like that to modern day, sounded so awesome and being scottish and loving the movie i was super hyped! I'm sure it had a trailer, still have the magazine i think.
for me it wasnt cancelled games.. i grew up in a small town so was at the whim of whatever our video store got, so many games i dreamed about but never showed up at our local video store one i can remember for sure is RPG Maker on PS1
Its cool you and your dad shared the interest of gaming. It was reversed for me I think I actually inspired my dad into gaming with the Atari 2600 and then he played the nes, snes, playstation, ps2, and finally ps3. Dad departed in 2020 and I miss him dearly.
It'll be cool if Limited Run Games or one of those physical media production companies would pick up and officially release a lot of these cancelled games that were basically finished just never released. I'd love if Thrill Kill would offically be released and playable on a PS1 without modding it. That's one of my cancelled games I wish came out.
I was too young to look forward to any unreleased games since access to that kind of knowledge was limited to me in those mid 90s days but i remember always wanting a proper super mario world sequel.
@@therealjaystone2344 I have found zero information that Wonder is a sequel related to World. Even by just watching the trailers, the games have nothing in common.
Man, the 32X was my bummer as a kid. I was so pumped to get that thing. Aside from X-Men not being released, the library itself ended up being so small and the announcement of the Saturn crushed my dreams of any other games. That said, I wish I still had that system, haha
If there's a system that's known for canceled games it's the virtual boy. Bound high looked like it could've been a good title on the level of wario land that took advantage of the systems hardware features
StarCraft Ghost was a big one for me, Star Fox 2 (glad we got that one eventually.) A game called Killing Day shown on PS3 at E3 in 2005. Star Wars 1313, Battlefront 3 on PS3. Other than games, I wish that the SED and FED displays from Cannon and Sony had released. I remember seeing video of those displays at CS 2007 or 2008 oh, I was so excited I grabbed my wallet when I saw them.
For me, it’s the original Resident Evil on GameBoy Color. Like that looked insane. Probably wouldn’t have been very good, but still super freakin cool.
I actually just discovered a video game this morning that was canceled, that would have been very interesting had it released *SimMars* for the PC. It was supposedly in the early stages development around the same time as The Sims (then known as SimPeople) and was even teased on the Sims City 3000 disc (where I discovered of it's existence) I was bummed to find out that it never came to be.
I was born in '86 and my first console was the Nintendo Entertainment System. I beat Super Mario Bros. when I was 15 years old in mid/late 2002. Before The California Raisins: The Grape Escape hit the stores, yeah I know it never did but read on anyway, Capcom included a poster with Bionic Commando, I believe, as an advertisement for their upcoming Disney games, Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers and Adventures in Disneyland the latter 2 which later was renamed to Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers and Adventures in the Magic Kingdom respectively. It also featured small descriptions of their current games, 1943: The Battle of Midway, Strider, Legendary Wings, Mickey Mousecapade, The California Raisins, Mega Man 2 and Bionic Commando, yes I know California Raisins wasn't released, you don't need to remind me, but Capcom seemed to be pretty far into the production since they decided to mention it as released. I was not sad when The California Raisins: The Grape Escape being cancelled, due to The California Raisins popularity because of the decline in raisin sales in the late 80's to early 90's. The game appeared to have been largely finished as it was given a full review, along with hints, by Video Games & Computer Entertainment: Complete Guide to Nintendo Video Games (November 1990), the “Nintendo Game of the Month” in “Game Player’s Magazine, #19 (January 1991)”, Videogames & Computer Entertainment (January 1991), “Game Player’s Strategy Guide to Nintendo Games, Vol. 4, No.3 (March 1991)” as the Hot 100, and “Game Player’s Encyclopedia of Nintendo Games Vol. 3 (April 1991)” released a complete walkthrough for the game in their 3rd edition encyclopedia. “Visit your local game retailer today!!! Hottest titles for Nintendo!” The mystery surrounding this Raisin game only gets more mysterious as we follow its trail. Flyers included with Capcom NES games such as DuckTales, the Game Boy DuckTales, Disney’s Adventures in the Magic Kingdom, Chip ’n Dale Rescue Rangers, Gargoyle’s Quest, Little Nemo: The Dream Master, Street Fighter: 2010: The Final Fight, Destiny of An Emperor, Yo! NOID, and Mega Man 3 released around 1990 also included the title as an upcoming game. In 2006, I had purchased a book from 1990 entitled VideoGames & Computer Entertainment's COMPLETE GUIDE TO NINTENDO VIDEO GAMES. According to VideoGames & Computer Entertainment: Complete Guide to Nintendo Video Games, ONLY $9.50, California Raisins was released, was officially categorized as "Crime Fighting," and was good. Especially the violence rating-- only 1 out of 10? What kind of crime fighting game doesn't involve violence? The only thing I can think of is a game where you paint and hang up signs that say, "Please no crime. Thank you!" It's nonviolent, non-offensive arcade entertainment at its most bland. But that wasn’t the only reason it canceled the game. By the time this NES title was ready to hit the market, Nintendo would’ve have already released its next-generation Super NES, making the NES (and all its games) obsolete. This game appeared on the Spring Summer and Fall Winter 1991 Sears Wish Books advertised for 44.95. It was so close to release there was a multi cheat (2 page guides mostly? Some built in codes, plus Game Genie codes at a Scholastic book fair that had guide/code for this game as “the latest hit.” And the game wouldn‘t resurface online for another 13 years until a prototype of this game was found in Florida on January 21, 2003 by Brandon Murphy. After an article was published, game collectors began haggling with Brandon to sell the game and release the ROM, and so the cart was sold to collector, followed by a ROM image being released 7 months later, on August 1 of that same year. So it is a valuable collectors item. But if the whole raisin why toxic things wasn’t the reason Capcom decided to release it. According to many sources, the game was to be released in around early 1991, which contradicts previous knowledge that it was to be released in 1990. Got a VidPro card with preliminary artwork. What this game lacks is a grape with appeal. This is why the undoubtable one of the most well known unreleased games of all-time for the NES. But none the less, a very cool piece of NES history has been saved… I played California Raisins: The Grape Escape on a emulator and I didn't beat yet.
I 100% agree
@@MyRetroLife Thank you for taking the time to read and reply to my comment. Subbed 👍
honestly that Starcraft Ghost game on OG Xbox looked good and almost finished, a cool stealth action game as that Ghost character would have been fun at the time.
This is the first time I’ve ever seen this subject on UA-cam on this level. Well done man! I gotta remember to check out you channel on the regular!
We got Shenmue 2 on Dreamcast in Europe.
I enjoy the story's with your dad he sounds like a special guy.
Propeller Arena is an amazing game. One of my favorites for the Dreamcast.
I was very excited about Sonic Xtreme (it was Sega answer to Mario 64). I got upset when i know this game never saw the light of day...
Glover 2 is one I wish saw the light of day. Was a big fan of the first game. It's a shame that the sequel never came out.
Totally agreed!
Well you can play it now on trials of mana.
@@CapChronicIt had an excellent fan translation a long time ago if you want the original.
For me this was almost every single SNES RPG. The joys of being a PAL gamer.
Tylor my Buddy 😅 My future wife ( hopefully ) literally decorate my gift cards with you mentioned all over … you became part of our relationship and although it does not meen to much to you just image what your paps meant to you and how much your little princess means to you … you are doing the exact same thing to me and I really appreciate it , I started collecting retro “replica” consoles … one day ill collect the real deal .. just need to get my studies car ect paid off first . Thank you for everything you do for me … you might not know this but you gave me a new hope when I was in the dark and had no way out … i just thought that you should know this , you mean more to me and others than you would ever imagine … thanx tylor and thnx Paps for your good camera work ( sorry I am not english so I hope you understand what I am trying to say ) blessings to the family
Tyler, you must have to have the best, most interesting channel on this entire platform. The memories, the way you have unlocked all of our memories by sharing these amazing videos. I wish my family had a video camera around for all of these important memories, but you have definitely helped me reminisce back to the good old days where everything was so magical and fun
You have so much footage of your childhood, its insane. I have a smartphone and take less footage of my kids than your family did in the 90s...
I was born in 87, first console was Sega Genesis in 94
Being born in 2002 my first console was the PlayStation 2. So many memories playing online and sitting next to my dad.
Man such a shame about Propellor Arena! I get why but looks like such a fun game! Great video Tyler.
City of the Dead for the PS2. I remember having a demo disc as a kid with a trailer for the game on it that showed gameplay and honestly it looked kind of sick. I didn't even know it was cancelled until maybe years later when I decided to look into it.
This is a crazy list. Only you could've put together this list.
Two thumbs waaaay up
fantastic video as usual.....some very unknown games for me too
Castlevania resurrection looks very souls like.
Growing up, we used the Hardees Californian Raisin toys in our pool to dive for them.
Dude! I could so see this as a show man! Wonder years mixed with fresh off the boat with a sprinkle of the goldbergs! I would so watch it!
GGA has one of the 2 existing arcade boards of the game and I got to try it but I wasn’t good at it
@@admiralAlfonso9001 Cool!
11:22 - I can sum it up - It was so bad it was good. Like some cars are so odd they're awesome. Bill Thomas' (Chevy) Cheetah, as an example.
Me too I was looking forward for Propeller Arena and Eternal Champion Final Chapter plus Sonic Extreme 👍 video Tyler
For me... it was Dinosaur Planet. I saw it on every Nintendo magazine, super hyped! Rare made all my favorite games with Nintendo... and it was "cancelled", well, we know the truth, but I could never afford a Gamecube for Start Fox Adventures.
That’s a good one!
That Sonic yeah that looked interesting.
Specially for back in the day it would be so cool !
Can you make a video exclusively about Manny?
Like Oppenheimer, destroyer of worlds…
Manny, Master of games!
I think it’s a good idea.
My most upsetting cancellation was Tak 4 by Avalanche Software unfortunately the studio got bought out by Disney in 2005 still upsets me
Oh wow didn’t know they were making a Tak 4!
Oh wow, I had no clue about Tak 4. I loved the trilogy! I'd love to see a remastered trilogy release.
@@GamingwithahandicapExactly. Warner Bros. Discovery bought the game development company, Avalanche Software, from Disney after the downfall of Disney Infinity.
@@cassiodvieira I know there such amazing games! THQNordic promised fans a remake in 2018 and it’s time they fulfilled their promise to the fans! The fans have been using the hashtag #BringTakback to spread the word around everywhere so THQNordic can see! Because for a lot of people the Tak trilogy was an early 2000s staple and more people deserve a chance to play them on all modern platforms! The goal is for like a Crash N. Sane trilogy treatment for Tak and the Power of Juju Tak 2 the Staff of Dreams and Tak the Great Juju Challenge!
Solid list, great video! 👍
Always Love The Tiny Toons Games!
Even Found A Boxed Copy Of Buster Breaks Loose!
Enjoy The Videos Tyler They Are Awesome❤️
I have seen the raisins game talked about a couple of times throughout the years. I think the game would be weird and funny. I love these wonderful retro game videos. Cool video. ^_^
Wow you had every console back in the day! This was the dream of every boy I knew as a child.
StarCraft: Ghost is probably my #1.
A game called True Fantasy Live Online was gonna come out for XBox. It was gonna be an MMO for XBox Live and we were excited for it back then. But it got canceled and we were all disappointed.
And probably why Level 5 wont give Xbox an rpg. Shout out to Namco for giving Xbox Ni No Kuni
17:12 - *Sits looking out the window at his 2002 Xtreme pouting - "It does NOT suck..." HAHAHA, no pouting, but my Xtreme is my guilty pleasure mobile.
I don't remember any cancelled game I missed except no sonic game for saturn. Nights in to dreams filled this roll well though.
Hey man always love your videos. They have a Mega Man Maker fan made game and it's awesome.
I saw the advertisement on a poster in 89' or 90' for the raisens. I had no idea the game was never made.
Great video Tyler! For me personally, that game would be Star Wars Battlefront III. I have to ask where did you buy that TG16 hat??? It's sick man! I love it!
Ooh this going to be a good video..i really needed this today
The 90s were Extreme! I'm talking Paco Jeans and Flannels :P
Love your channel. We are the same age so I relate to nearly everything you talk about. That being said, it sounds like you have a cold.
I also was looking forward to Propeller Arena for the multi-player aspects and was very bummed when it didn't release. There still aren't many similar games. I didn't know there was a ROM available. I'll have to check that out, thanks.
i wish I could've played as bad box art megaman
Highlander, early ps3 era, you would go through early era scotland, roman age, revolution, stuff like that to modern day, sounded so awesome and being scottish and loving the movie i was super hyped! I'm sure it had a trailer, still have the magazine i think.
Deep Down, Fable Legends, Scalebound, and Star Wars 1313 broke my heart.
I wish we could get a new Castlevania game. It would be a great time to “resurrect “ the franchise
I love the Sega Saturn controller, but man those shoulder buttons are unforgivable 😢 specially the American model 1 version
for me it wasnt cancelled games.. i grew up in a small town so was at the whim of whatever our video store got, so many games i dreamed about but never showed up at our local video store one i can remember for sure is RPG Maker on PS1
Digital stores made it way easier for small towns to buy games that aren’t available on retailers
Its cool you and your dad shared the interest of gaming. It was reversed for me I think I actually inspired my dad into gaming with the Atari 2600 and then he played the nes, snes, playstation, ps2, and finally ps3. Dad departed in 2020 and I miss him dearly.
I would've loved so very very much to have had MegaMan Anniversary Collection GBA and be able to play the GB MegaMen in full color!
Mario bros wonder is now a sequel to Mario world
@@therealjaystone2344 I have found zero information that Wonder is a sequel related to World.
Even by just watching the trailers, the games have nothing in common.

Whats that green thing on a stick attached to your Dreamcast controller?
I don't remember many being cancelled as a kid but one I do remember being gutted about was gremlins on ps1
Man, the 32X was my bummer as a kid. I was so pumped to get that thing. Aside from X-Men not being released, the library itself ended up being so small and the announcement of the Saturn crushed my dreams of any other games. That said, I wish I still had that system, haha
I had fun with it. Doom alone made it worth it for me as a small child.
@@CapChronic oh yeah, Doom and that Star Wars game were both really fun!
It's pretty Kool you actually still have old footage 👍
Idk how this channel isn’t bigger. Your channel RULES. The footage you have is amazing.
How did you even know about that California Raisins game?
"WELL I HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE"
For me, it’s the original Resident Evil on GameBoy Color. Like that looked insane. Probably wouldn’t have been very good, but still super freakin cool.
That actually DID come out! EDIT - Oh I’m thinking of RE Gaiden
But none the less, a very cool piece of NES history has been saved…
I played California Raisins: The Grape Escape on a emulator and I didn't beat yet.
