I am a Mom of 12, 11 adopted out of foster care and they have expectations of 3 meals a day and snacks. I hate to cook. I have no creative ideas at all. Watching your videos and others on UA-cam have helped me so much to get better at something I don't like to do. I have a instapot and airfryer because of you and they get used everyday. It has made my life so much easier and I have actually made some great things and I've found that it really isn't that hard if you have good inspiration. You have provided that and your realness and passion show through your videos. Thank you for sharing your life.

The thing I loved about you, over other cooking channels, was how you taught about improvising and substituting rather than following exact recipes. And learning from mistakes. Like the fact that you would leave those in videos and talk about what you did wrong and how you fixed. It really inspired me and showed me that it wasn't uncommon to mess up a dish. Now I'm constantly challenging myself to new ways of cooking.

ProHomeCooks helped give me the confidence and organization to begin to pickle and ferment, and to generally look for a way to make the things I needed to start eating. You never gave us a recipe for gluten-free, sprouted sourdough bread, but having made a bunch of pickles, salad dressings and pre-cooked meals and ingredients through your channels guidance, I knew enough to branch out and search for someone to show me how to make the "bread" that my body currently needs to be eating. (And believe me, it's "bread". Think Pacha Bread.) But the flatbread and pancakes i can make from this superfood batter are simpler than the loaves and make it worth it for me so I can make a flatbread sandwich that's 100% superfood--no problems.
You showed us we can powerfully rule our own kitchens and diets beautifully--and without a lot of brouhaha or creepy "influencer" vibe.
Thanks so much man. I'm still subscribed. Wondering what you’ll do next. Glad you're on your way back to happiness in your work.

People can’t expect everything to stay the same, I’ve changed since I first discovered you like 7+ years ago, you’re brother moved onto his guru channel, and you carried on with the food oriented side of things. Yet the last maybe 4 years, moving from a studio back to a home, and foraging and growing your own stuff. Whatever works best! Onwards and upwards Mike! I was just thinking the other day that I haven't seen a video recommended to me by you in a long time and here you are. As an artist, I get it. You can do what you love for a living but it's still a job and you will eventually get burn out from the repetition if you end up doing the same thing over and over, it's stifling.
You need some novelty, something that feels like a natural progression and I think that is where your channel is at. I think this is going to be fantastic! We will get more of a vlog style that shows a day in the life behind your old series. I would love to see some day to day stuff where you are just taking care of your garden and chickens etc, maybe some tips on how you grow your veggies. (I have more of a black thumb than green lol, I'll take all the help I can get! haha). This is opening up your options for creating content on your own terms without putting yourself in a box again hopefully. I know a lot of youtubers will just create a new channel for separate types of content and urge viewers to go sub there too, sometimes it works, sometimes It doesn't.
Sorry for the long, disjointed message, I am excited to see what you're going to do, I'm wishing you and your family the best!

watching this was so wild! I started watching when it was brothers green on youtube, i still have the first sourdough pdf! but it was just ahead of me then, the quick and easy stuff was where i was at, so i stopped watching when it got more technical, but now, ive been watching pretty consistently since the brooklyn studio, my own life lead me to wanting to feed myself, with gardening and then covid shutdown (no work) sent me back to my parents farm, where i have a garden now too. my struggle is i went back to uni later, so at 30, I'm looking at the latter part of my course thinking i want to explore food, live healthier and eat good stuff that you just cant buy. You've put huge stamp on my life Mike and I've loved watching it all evolve and adapting your ideas for myself, all the way over here in Australia!!

As someone who's been making various content for 13 years now on UA-cam just starting to try and build a cooking channel, it's hard to not feel like I missed the boat and it's a losing battle so I can defs relate to the imposter syndrome stuff people talk about. I try to remember now it's not my job to be the best youtuber, it's just my job to be me ✌️

First video I ever watched of yours was the "15 Mistakes Most Beginner Cooks Make (part 1)" from 2017, and that was the first time I was following a framework instead of a recipe. By the end of it, I remember feeling like I was genuinely cooking on my own instead of following specific instructions exactly. That continued with Conquer the Kitchen, sourdough recipes, and many more videos of yours. And now that passion has grown, and I am a professional cook just turned professional bread baker. So I owe a huge debt of thanks to you, especially early on in my cooking journey. Looking forward to what comes next!

came here to the comment section to post almost exactly this, i was already a restaurant manager back then, making simple dishes over and over again, but had a problem thinking outside the box when it came to my at home meals. after seeing the channel, alongside a few others it reignited my passion for being in the kitchen and propelled me to make better career decisions to work in restaurants with more creative freedom and a better work-life balanced hours of operation, and doing a much more well rounded job of preparing my meals at home.
so crazy that we started with the exact same video, i was just about to scroll through all of the videos on this channel to find the year it was posted, but you ended up saving me some time, thanks, and congrats on your success
